Omg Steve! Lady Hawk I haven't been following Hog this season but wow! He's a very lucky Osprey to have survived an Eagle attack as we know those Eagle talons are usually detrimental to any prey they grasp. Thanks LH💜 for the great coverage and slo mo was the best way to view this since it happened lightening fast.
I'm glad that Steve is okay, but keep in mind that Steve does the same to other birds and animals, and they are not as lucky as Steve was! Also, the eagle may also have eaglets at it's nest also and needs feeding!
It’s hard to picks sides when it’s about nature, im glad he’s back safe and sound but I’m sad he didn’t turn into a meal, cause well the Eagle might as well have a nest with chicks to attend too, then again bald eagles are great hunters so it will survive even if it misses a meal
This nest doesn't seem to have allot of luck with the raccoons, Great Horned Owls and now Eagles.. I wonder if the caretaker took a previous commentators suggestion and implemented an Elizabethan Collar around the tree or pole to at least reduce, of not eliminate, the possibility of another raccoon invasion...
When o saw this on fb it freaked me out. So glad Steve and the eggs are ok. It happened so fast until you do the slow mo you can’t hardly tell it’s a bald eagle. I love my eagles, but please leave the Osprey alone. 😡😡
As usual ... I hope that the osprey is not seriously wounded . But the attack was strong ... These beautiful ospreys can't transmit their genes in this location . Too many predators (B Eagles & GHO)
Update: 12:43 PM ~~ 5.29.19 Steve just returned to the nest and thankfully he is fine! He is incubating the eggs right now.
Hi Lady Hawk I'm glad he's okay! I wonder if there are any injuries we can't see on Steve or internal. We'll have to keep an eye on him, poor guy💙

Compared to our Osprey nests here in the UK. The Ospreys there have so much more prey to contend with. Love that nest.

Yes she stayed on them and only took short breaks. The eggs are fine!
