    I don’t understand what’s so difficult about just giving players 10-25 lap races with random weather and mandatory pit stops/tire changes on Fuji, suzuka, Bathurst, road Atlanta grand valley, Brazil, spa, Nurburgring.
    We want weekly races that actually showcase who has the best pace and strategy, idk why we have to wait 3 months in between every good race

    If we ignore the FFB problems, this car/tire and track combo isn't bad at all. An old F1 car like this with its smaller form factor is a perfect pair for a very tight track like this. Paired up with it being a scenic track with safety concerns at every corner and it's very on brand for a classic F1 style experience (the comfort softs trying to simulate the grip of racing tires of the period). But come on... 7 laps?... I was so excited for this race and it just sucks. It should have been like 25 laps with something like 30x tire wear (since the comfort tires last forever). They made that super cool pit lane and we don't even use it. Like what the hell poly.

    The CS tires aren't causing the lack of feedback - it's the update combined with the car itself. Everything else I've driven so far on my G29 is lighter, but still provides enough feedback to not be an issue. The RA272's feedback is completely dead though - even on RH tires (it feels exactly the same when driving it on RH for the Honda Challenge time trial).

    The reason the car is chosen is because of Honda's 60th anniversary in F1, the tires, to simulate what would be "period correct" grip levels, and the track because it's new.
    I wouldn't call it a low point. The case for a longer race is fair though. I just wish this race wasn't a permanent fixture of the game, and that there was some way it would be replaced with something different?

    I thought my wheel was giving up at first, due to the messy force feedback I encountered with this race, but I found out it's happening all over the community, and now you. The online racers have always been too low reward-wise; it should be the biggest payouts as it's the hardest races. I loved the Scooby event, though, but this update is the first time I'm in a love-hate relationship with GT7. The cars just seem way too understeery for me at the moment, and I also can no longer drift, haha!

    • @theKashConnoisseur
      @theKashConnoisseur 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Half the community says it's understeer-y, and the other half says it's too oversteer-y. What actually is happening is that trail braking is actually important, and you need to drive more like a real sim and less like an arcade racer. You used to be able to break to 100% and steer simultaneously, barely needing to trail brake and using mostly steering to rotate the car. Now, you get punished for trying to steer with heavy braking, and you NEED to trail brake through the apex to rotate the car without understeering. You also need to be smooth with power application coming out of turns, otherwise you're more prone to the back end breaking loose and causing massive oversteer.
      TL;DR: it's both understeer-y AND oversteer-y because they made the physics more realistic. Master trail braking and make your inputs as smooth as possible, and you might find the game actually feels better than ever.

    Has anyone else noticed there are some road cars, even completely stock, that since 1.49 now have horrible snap oversteer when braking while cornering, such as turns 1 and 2 at Suzuka? It feels like GT1's braking physics. The worst offender I've found is the Z16A, it's actually undrivable. Shame since it was the first semi-fast car I picked up in GT7. I finally got the setup to where it's useable, but it took a lot of effort and the final setup is goofy af and makes no sense in real life. Others I've found like this are the '03 and '09 Audi TTs, and the '05 Mini Cooper. If my real life Cooper handled like that I'd be terrified to drive it and would've sold it for chump change on craigslist already. Hate this broken physics update. @eoinm5758 I think you are right, sometimes in game in tuned cars I get less grip/turn in than a regular street car on naff tyres in real life, the trouble for polyphony I guess, is there are sooooo soooo many variables to get right at once, different vehicles multiplied by different tuning parts multiplied by different setups, multiplied by many different wheel and pedals available plus controller, still further variables are different tracks in different climates etc the list goes on.
      Unfortunately I haven't had my sim rig up since before 1.49, I was soo excited to get it back out and try the new physics, at first I had issues on the controller but soon was quite well adjusted and thinking man it feels like there's more suspension and tyre activity modelled into the driving I bet this would feel great with the sim rig, and now I hear they've killed FFB 😢

      @@eoinm5758 Understeer is okay to some degree as you can just reduce throttle and return the steering to the centre to correct. But the oversteer is where I struggle, it's just not right. Most of the vehicles just once correcting oversteer just yaw back way too quickly and you end up rotating on yourself, Regardless of your throttle modulation and steering input.

I did this with the CSL Elite and I don't think they are sending signals to the FF parameter. Doesn't matter what settings you have in game, it has no feel at all. Thinking they are relying upon some of the support parameters to mimic force feedback.

    I've just gotta say, comfort tires are meant to smooth out the driving process. In real life, I've had tires that make turning the vehicle a chore, and I've had to tires that make it effortless. The tires that were a chore made turning difficult enough that we were certain there was something wrong with the power steering. So, the tire updates to force feedback is actually done to achieve a more realistic feel. That said, its still a game..and you should be able to crank the settings and make it feel how you want to feel..but then again, i think that is the part of point of the comfort tires. Being featured in a daily race is likely just to display this realistic update to the tire feel..and its just something we'll all have to deal with.

    I don't think they have got it quite right but i think i know why they have done it. I just took a 23 formula car down route x on softs. Its extremely light at low speeds but increases dramatically at high speeds. Pretty sure it was similar at all speeds before. Anyway, they have added more road texture and bump affects, i can guarantee that as i have SIMHUB with baseshakers on my rig and I've had to turn those affects down a lot.. obviously say something like a sausage curb is going to pull your steering more st low speed than skipping over it at high speed so it may have been done for safety as it would wrench your arms round.. but yes they have over reduced it. There is also more affect of weight shift, they haven't only chsnged the car set ups as people think.. i get a load of vibration by just letting off which i never had, it was only there under braking before.. so understeer some people are getting is harsh braking and the old over downshifts people always used for rotation. Now they can over load the front wheels as all the weight has flown forward. Everything has to be a little more subtle now..

I myself have ran a quali on it, but decided against racing: I suffered the double twin hairpins in an S1 Quattro doing the weekly offline races, and the Honda on Comfort tires was a bit less fun, even without company. Maybe they were realized that 15-20 lap of this, with the awkward pitlane tunnel and the narrow rejoyning path, would be very frustrating experiece, this could be the cause of the short race length. I hope next week we get something more racing-friendly, and the Gr.4 cars will return to the rotation.

    Is it possible that the lack of tyre changes and being stuck with comfort soft could be Polyphony trying to simulate the old style racing since it's an old formula vehicle? Could the lack of steering feedback be something Polyphony wanted to simulate "comfort"? Maybe back in the old days they didn't change their tyres? Maybe everyone used the tyres available to them, which may have more likely been an average tyre, maybe?
