Mega Man ZX ~ Model LX vs All Bosses [No Damage/Hard Mode]

- Mega Man ZX, no damage quick killing all bosses that Model LX can reliably defeat fast and stylishly. To say LX only has 4 attacks within their moveset, you can do some surprisingly swagger stuff with such a limited kit. That's not to say the model is GOOD because of this - it's still pretty meh in comparison to the other biometals, but unlike FX, you can at least DO cool, technical stuff with it, like using the ice platform as an aerial tool for a makeshift double jump/footstool to connect a grounded slash while technically in midair, or setting up platforms and ice dragons to get maximum mileage out of the four hit combo. I can say without a double now that I can definitely enjoy this form way more than I used to, because even with my Leviathan bias, the form initially turned me off for how limited it was. But hey, it taught me a valuable lesson: anything's salvageable if you put your mind to it.
Also, if you're reading this from the intro text, here's more information on why I've omitted Fistleo: not only is it self-explanatory that LX can't use overdrive or her charges against him because of elemental resistance (he takes 0 damage from all that), but Fistleo's a special case in the fact that he can HEAL much more health on hard mode. One heal undo ALL but ONE damage of your 2 hit combo (which, yeah like Giro and Flammole, is all you can do). And since the battle's prolonged, you're subject to RNG screwage and he can either be nice and not heal a lot, or just does it almost every time to tick you off. This is NOT fun to deal with, nor was it fun to try and record, hence why I said forget it and moved on. Flammole was only an exception because I just wanted to meme him hard with the boss AI exploitation that he, Purprill and FIstleo to an extent (though the weak point on his head prevents a Flammole style trolling) are cursed with.

I've been waiting for someone to make an LX video. People vastly underrate its potential, it may have few moves but it's got plenty of style and is tons of fun to play with the right knowledge. -(plus you finally get to fulfill your dream of being inside leviathan)-
Definitely. I don't think there's really a "bad" form in ZX specifically, and this is clearly a case of untapped potential not being explored because of the more broken models spoiling the player.
But I do very much enjoy finally being inside, taking in that DNA. ;)

The audacity of these platform jumps are so shockingly good that I laughed my ass seeing all of the bosses being torn to shreds by what I thought to have been a mainly useless biometal outside of water. I was clearly mistaken, and I am astonished to see such creative uses (and cheeses) out of the skills that Lx has.
Seeing bosses die to slipping on the platform move is such a power move.

I never thought to use the ice platforms in the air as "stepping stones" for higher jumps. And the way you use the ice as traps to wrack up damage is so big brain 🧠.
I always considered those ice platforms useless and inferior to the ice dragon. Goes to show there are still things you can learn about the game even after a decade.
I love how LX just makes ice for everyone to slip.

I think this might be my favourite boss rush of yours. Every time you used the ice platform to do something ridiculously stylish I couldn't stop smiling, I have no words to describe how unbelievable this whole video is, and this is coming from someone who's had this game for like 14 years.

I always loved using model lx in non underwater sections. Something about its strange slash angle and singular attack really enticed me.
Somethin' tells me you took his gesture of tossing your waifu in the trash a liiiiiiiittle too personal there old timer.
All jokes aside, it says something about how even a limited kit can both function well and look stylish while doing so. Kinda serves as inspiration for those kinds of scenarios where you have limited combat options in a game not gonna lie. Good on ya though and happy you're enjoying ZX so much!

Your videos is very inspiring and taught me that you can think much more creative outside the box such as using ice platform as double jump, using ice platform as a trap, using ice platform as an aeriral grounded slash, using a charge slash lv2 and let the the halberd hit but the ice dragon spin around the boss so that when it turn back and hit the boss you can combo it with an air slash. Your videos are really cool and very inspiring!

The coolest looking biometal, with what I thought was the lamest kit...And now you show the sauce it can pull off, this is rad man. The ice platform for midair slash combo is absolutely amazing, you're a magician on these games!
Still, I wish they gave Lx a little more. Fx got the recoil rod push, why couldn't Lx at least have gotten the pogo stick move? It would've been great!

The part where LX keeps on letting bosses collide with the ice steps reminds me of one of Thetis' attacks, where in he attempts a hit and run with his halberd. It's very irritating at first, and that's what the bosses probably feel as they have a chunk of ice over their head, i imagine.

If you haven't obtained it yet, try quick charge, and make sure you go up and set the lava to slow first

I've did a solo run of model Lx on the Legacy Collection (Well, as much of a solo run you can do in the game) and it really helped with practicing reversals. Also is was one of the most fun solo runs I've ever did.

damn, didn't even know model L had any combos tbh, and I don't know much (if anything) about combos for other forms (except maybe model ZX). this was really cool to watch, makes me wanna play ZX again. thank you for the cool video!
I feel kinda bad asking/suggesting this sorta thing but a combo/tech video for ZX would be super sick (though I totally understand if that isn't something you want to do for any reason, especially considering all the work that goes into it, and all the work you put into explaining stuff for the Zero series. plus you've likely been inundated with these sorts of requests/suggestions already..).

Fun fact: The ice dragon has the same roar of Anguirus from the Godzilla franchise, and thats not the first time they use a kaiju roar in a megaman game.
In Mega Man Zero 2 there are 3 elemental birds with Mothra's roar.
You could say that Model L took the icing on the bosses except Fistleo.

Doesn’t need one, the ice dragons, platform, and overdrive already support it for good comboes without the need for a triple slash
LX's main problem is just that their underwater gimmick is relatively useless since there's only 2 to 3 instances in the game where you'd actually use it. If she could've done her spin slash on land to a limited degree (based off cutscenes in the Zero series, Leviathan CAN do it), that'd have added an extra layer of depth. Then again, Leviathan herself does have a triple thrust in her boss fights, so no matter how you slice it, the form deserved better treatment than what it got.
