Prof. Jean Byiringiro Bosco, awarded Order Of Academic Palms, Knight

The Order is conferred upon French citizens and foreigners who have made significant contributions to the advancement of intellectual, scientific, and artistic pursuits in France. A Knight must be at least 35 years of age.
DeKUT had the privilege of hosting H.E. Arnaud Suquet, the French Ambassador to Kenya, and Mathieu Guérin, PhD, Attaché for Science and Higher Education, Ambassade de France à Nairobi. Their presence underscored the importance of our growing collaboration with French academic institutions and the potential for future partnerships.
Their visit highlighted our growing collaboration with French academic institutions and potential future collaboration areas. We were thrilled to witness the prestigious ‘Knight in the Order of the Palmes Académiques’ award bestowed upon, Prof. Jean Byiringiro Bosco, director Siemens Mechatronics Certification Centre, by H.E Ambassador Arnaud Suquet.
His exceptional contributions to academia and his unwavering commitment to our collaborative efforts with French institutions have greatly honed DeKUT.
Our fruitful collaborations with renowned French universities, such as UBFC-Besançon, INP Toulouse, UTTOP (formerly ENIT Tarbes), CESI Graduate School, and Institut Pascal, Université Clermont Auvergne, have significantly enriched DeKUT. These partnerships have led to the successful graduation of 7 PhD students, 17 master’s students, and 6 interns in the engineering field. Moreover, our robust staff and student exchange programs with these institutions have provided invaluable learning opportunities for 5 PhD students from our School of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT).
This visit strengthens the bonds between Kenya and France, promising educational, research, and innovation advancements.
