Still the best Batmobile for me. It looks beastly, sleek, powerful, intimidating and reasonably campy. Yet still resembles a car. Perfection.

Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.

I got to see this in person at the Smithsonian. I simply stood there in awe for 30 minutes, taking in every last detail.

I saw a perfect replica of it at Comic Con and was mesmerized by how intimidating it looked. I thought immediately: yes, THAT is what Batman would drive. Forget all the others. They look like clown cars compared to this...
I used to work at a very famous thrill park in Valencia, CA. They have a replica of this amazing vehicle at that park, and it was a great thing to see it every day for four years.
Out of all the new iterations of the batmobile this is still the absolute best!

The '89 Batmobile is the absolute best of the Bat cars, closely followed by the 1960s Batmobile. Iconic and I was there in 1989 on opening weekend at the theatre wide eyed at this beast roaring on the big screen. Good times.
Definitely the original, only one, ultimate, unique. BATMOBILE! No replacement for that beauty!

These dudes created a beauty, haunts me in my dreams even as an adult. I wish we could all have batmobiles! freeways of batmobiles for miles and miles.
For me this is the definitive Batmobile. It not only looks menacingly beautiful but it does actual seem like a practical real-world design compared to everything that followed. It had the right balance of flair and functionality for me.

Batman has always had a Gothic quality and Burton got that like no director since. I loved Nolan’s version but that Gothic quality wasn’t there- it has to be slightly operatic and over the top just a bit.
Legend has it, that guy's wife is still driving around with no headlights on her car.
The film was number one at the box office for several weeks and CRUSHED its competitors Ghostbusters 2 and Indiana Jones. I'm sure he earned enough money to buy his wife a brand new replacement with all the options the factory could fit on it! :D

I want to write that my name is Josh Tate and i'm writing that the year 2024 will not only be the 35th anniversary of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film but it will also be Batman's 85th anniversary year too.

From my childhood I remember this car model exactly for two reasons... 1- how sleek it looked on the big screen and 2 - the imprint it left on my face, as my little brother threw his cast iron batmobile at my forehead while we were play fighting! Nearly knocked me out. 🦇😅

You have no idea how generations work, do you? I was born in the 90s and I still got to see every Batman movie before Batman Begins. That movie came out in 2005 for crying out loud! Do you think I never watched any movies prior to getting 10 years old and only then starting to watch TV? Granted the first Batman movie I saw was Batman Forever, but I did see Batman 89 shortly afterwards and then Returns and then B & Robin.
EDIT: now I saw you specified "on the big screen". Well in that case I've yet to see a Batman movie like that. Watched them all on TV.

Jeff Dunham (Ahmed the Dead Terrorist) has a very functional one, I believe it was the #3 of the 3 that were built. Used as a promo vehicle, but not in the movie.
He also had it made street legal. But due to contracts signed can't use it as an every day car. Or to fight crime at night, for that matter. 🦇

I got to see one in person at a car show in Miami some years ago. If you think it looks good in film then in person will simply take your breath away.

There are 2 Batmobiles period. The 1966 one and this one from 1989. The rest are Kaaa-Kaaa!

Funny to think that, nowadays, they'd model it in a CAD system and then have the foam CNC milled.
And it even had the coolest shields, and voice control.. wonder why they did not mention.
This will always be "THE" Batmobile.
I really wish WB would bring it back and keep using this for every film. I know it probably wouldn't have worked for Chirstopher Nolan, but every other Batman film should have just stuck with this Batmobile.

The movie itself may not have aged well, but the 1989 Batmobile is still the best IMO. As much as I love the Nolan Trilogy, they were sorely missing a good Batmobile.
the first and second movies age very well, you dont know what you are talking about. the had a other worldly/timeless quality. the nolan movies will not look good in years to come when fashions change.
