I'm the designer of Kansas Twister - glad you enjoyed it ! The red / orange hits around 3g on that first turn out of the station. The other track goes to about 2.7g, so is a little less intense.
Is there a reason why designers cant make huge incredible coasters here in Australia like America.......Biggest one is DC Rivals and that only opened 7 years ago in comparison to the likes of Magnum XL, I305, Raptor, Incredible Hulk, Steel Vengeance As an enthusiast who doesn't have the luxury to travel overseas........I want the big shit right here in our own backyard and I don't understand why we don't or haven't.......Biggest coaster would have been Dreamworld's Thunderbolt back in the 80s/90s......Everything since then has been smaller or medium height but SUPER compact
@Thedude8450 hey! Honestly is down to the parks themselves. They make a request with a budget, area in the park and target group. So the usual questions I would ask, is it for families or thrill seekers? Do you want any inversions? When people are talking about custom designs versus "off the shelf/ already built" that is part of the budget. They can be shown different designs already built. when the engineering is already complete on a ride and built somewhere else in the world, it is then cheaper to build again, so the client then saves money. Apart from checking local design standards (structural and train), the ride is basically done. I hope that answers the question.
@@Iamfrazzles It was SUCH a shame that the park did NOT want a thrill coaster? BOTH of them are very beautifully painted (especially the Witch's) but for the 2.5 hour wait....was a HUGE disappointment when we rode. That was not your fault though.....great job still. That would be a fun job to have I always thought. Richard in California
@@RMCTooyeah, I hear you. I think a lot of parks are trying to match the "Disney" experience where there is more theming and pull in families. I don't think any coaster is worth that wait; I've been lucky to travel a bit and ride Kinda Ka etc, with a wait of under an hour 😅. I'm sure queues will ease for sure.
I hate seeing all the negative comments! I’m from the US and this land has become one of the biggest reasons why I’m now planning an Australian coaster trip. Could there have been more themeing? Yes. But I find a lot of charm in what’s there. It’s certainly better than the themeing at 90% of theme parks.
Somewhere over the rainbow playing in the superman courtyard, having to go around and back through the wizard hall to go on the other ride, the munchkin village right next to the wizard hall, the gale farm being in the land of oz, multiple wheelchair lifts instead of just making easier access, lack of theming inside stations they said were going to be on par with leviathan, kansas twister having bright track when it doesn't fit the theme of the ride. The area is just a jumbled mess. It is so obvious this was not ready to open yet. They should have done technical rehearsals and opened boxing day and used that little bit of extra time to improve the lacking theming. But we all know why that didn't happen. Another misstep by Clark and the team.
Amazing looking Emerald castle, amazing looking Witches castle, awesome Kansas house queue and the Witches forest and poppys look so cool! Also two brand new rides! Just thought I’d add some positives to your negatives.
Dude, this isn’t Disney Land. Chill out. The place only has so much money, you know? It can’t spend all its money on one section of the theme park. Give them a break. At least they were kind enough to build an entirely new rollercoaster AND area!
@AndysAppleFarm-aaf it’s pretty poor mate. It’s not even about money. It’s just poor choices. Look down the road at dreamworld delivered with Rivertown. Movie world advertised the land to be world-class. It’s clearly not.
Went there today, I thought the rides would be lame but it was actually so good! 10-20min wait times for the kansas twister ride. Line moved super quick but expect long waits for the flight of the wicked witch. Unfortunately there’s only 1 train but we managed to go there early when it opened so we had a chance to ride it!
Only problem with the precinct is the lack of shading and chairs or hardly none. Everyone was just sitting on the ground especially inside the emerald tower.
Movieworld is not a large park thats the reason why everything is so cramped together the area looks nice for what it is also good for the kids to go to a different area of the park but the black fences and the lack of shade in the area does let it down. Maybe in the future they will add more theming into the area
Cannot wait to see this in the New year. I feel that they could ramp up the experience if they had cast members dressed as Munchkins and Ozians that are there on and off during the day. I think that going straight to the Flight of the Wicked Witch first would be ideal as the Kansas Twister moves twice as many each ride cycle.
Here in the main park of my country the same family roller coasters, both the boomerang and the suspended one, arrive but only in 2027, I wanted to know first-hand if they are comfortable or very hard
After waiting for the World class attraction l have to say a Massive disappointment Movie World the Emerald city facade looks fantastic but lost opportunities outside apart from a few mock up houses you have painted walls and nothing you could have done so much more then once inside apart from the screens on the walls and the ceiling it’s just a empty space Dorothy’s house looks pretty good but is a bit sterile just too clean for a farm house, around the queue lanes it could have had more actual items in lieu of the painted walls plus a lost opportunity with the animal pens add a animatronic pig and chicken and it adds so much more. I know cost comes into everything but if your going to add theming to a attraction if you don’t get it right it lets the whole thing down just look at Dream Worlds Rivertown maybe not the best coaster around but the theming lifts it to world class standard.
can you go around the twister house but not really ride the roller-coaster? the house looks nice and just wanna take photos, but can't really do the ride 😞
Can I record on a camera that’s chest mounted on the roller coasters ? First time going to movie world if any one can lmk that would be great ,thank you.
It's been crammed into a very tiny space. It really needs it's own space to do Wizard of Oz justice. The Wizard building is really well done though. Shame about the rest.
I really think this is a missed opportunity. To much open space sitting there doing nothing. A massive concrete pad sitting empty. The Emerald city facade is amazing, the theming they have done is good. But I feel they dropped the ball quite big on this. Out of the 2 new areas, Dreamworld takes the win hands down
Dude you are easily impressed. It's nothing compared to any of the Disneyland. It doesn't matter how many time you say its magnificent, it's definitely not.
Grass is always greener, buddy. We don’t have a Disneyland here, of course this is amazing to those of us who don’t have the money to waste flying internationally.
I haven't experienced it yet but I will soon I'm taking notes of what pepeole think of the new Wizard Of Oz land and I have got 14 negative feedback and 38 positive feedback. (you the 14th negative feedback

Head to Dreamworld and see the recently opened Rivertown. It kinda blows this recent addition out of the water
I feel it's still wow factor - definitely worth a visit!
comes first! I think this land is good but the white random patches is alittle upsetting other than that amazing area! Great job mate!
Great video, Shane. It was good to ride the Kansas Twister with you. Oz is definitely a great addition to the park. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Likewise, mate - yes, it is definitely a great addition to Movie World!

Hi! They're both very comfortable rides. The suspended coaster is probably the most comfortable out of them both.
