Winning a race using only items in last. To make it a bit harder, the item boxes disappear if your position advances

If they had it in wii it probably would have been in future games instead of just the ds

I love these!
In the game's files, there are unused mugshots of a Koopa Paratroopa, a Hammer Bro. and Petey Piranha, as well as a Mii outfit C, meaning they were going to appear as playable characters in Mario Kart Wii, but the idea was canceled for unknown reasons. That's disappointing, especially for Petey, but despite that, Mario Kart Wii is a good game. My favorite driver is Funky Kong.

I've been playing this game for the better part of a decade and have been following the modding community for some time as well, so I knew about almost all of these. But the BCWii and MT having the same music That blew my god damn mind! I never knew that

That's really cool that there going to be a Mission Mode similar to the one in Mario Kart DS! I really wish Nintendo did make one for real as I liked the idea, it sorta made it feel like an adventure mode that I've been wanting to happen in the MK series for years, and years now. Maybe it'll finally happen in the next game (no, kinda doubt it)! Also, nice little callback to Mach Rider (you know, the Famicom game that Nintendo has ignored its existence since 1985? Yeah, that one) too!

Matt from Wii Sports as a Sphinx is something I didn't know I needed until now.
There’s actually one that you didn’t get. The sides of the trucks on moonview highway have references to other tracks. One says “coconut fruit”, one says “moo moo dairy”, and the other literally just says the word factory with toad’s picture above it

I feel like you use the term cheat codes outside of its intended purpose here. Saying cheat codes makes it sound like it is possible to input them somewhere in the game without any external software. I also wouldn’t really call some of these secrets, and definitely not Easter Eggs. They are more like, interesting tidbits of information certain stages. The video is very interesting but I think that the title doesn’t really convey that.
The are called cheat codes regardless of whether you can use an input or make use of third party software.

@ Nintendo Unity: The mission mode in Mario kart wii was never unused, at the time Nintendo still supported online multiplayer with Mario kart wii, they had something call a tournament just for fun and for ranking, and it was one of does mission mode pick by Nintendo.

Region differences. I'm guessing you have European version of the game, like me. We get some renames, like the Flame Runner being swapped for Bowser Bike and Tiny Titan being swapped for, as you mentioned, the rally romper
I admire the fact that either Matt is the only mii on your wii or you got rid of every other mii for this video

If I remember you can also see a bit the DK Summit hidden item boxes by doing the oob glitch after the cannon
Missions were a thing in Mario Wii, they stopped being a thing because online multi-player was discontinued.
I remember Chain Chomps in Rainbow mode was one.
I was today years old when I found out the bowser castle and maple treeway music thing !
Just a little fact:
Underneath the rings of Saturn in Rainbow Road in MK7 there is a set of item boxes
So TOK wasn't the first game to slow down Maple Treeway music to use somewhere else, but MK Wii itself was? Damn!

I think the Mission Mode are the Tournaments that was in the online game so the developers could test them before put them online

I don't think desert levels you pointed out are necessarily references, I think Nintendo just wanted to make fun desert levels, kind of like how some of the Mario Kart 8 courses aren't exactly based off anything,
Also I think comparing Twilight Town and that one battle stage is a bit of a stretch.

In a book of cheats and secrets the unused Mii outfit C is still in the book apparently the writers were unaware of it being cut and didn't get a chance to edit it out.

Imagine Mr. Bean actually added the Mission Mode to CTGP. That would be nice.
He did work on a mod that lets you play it, but I’m not too sure about CTGP.
