Crestview and our neighboring towns will survive any growth due to Eglin AFB. Florida has no State tax which is a smart move for retirees. Northerners love the fact we have no parking meters! Crestview is a melting pot due to our military members and out of state transplants. Check out places like Emerald Coast Zoo off Hwy 90…owned by mr lizard 🦎 from discovery ch. or Seacrest Wolf Preserves in Chipley. A visit to one of the farms to pick your own is always a great memory.

Crestview was a poor town... Most people work for the military.... So your numbers are a bit off.. In the last 2 years prices have skyrocketed...Crestview is also an old town...I could have driven you around and show you million dollar homes... one after another.. Downtown is not that confusing .... Crestview is the other Fl.... Central time zone. and was lower Alabama. The hardware store you passed in downtown. has been there for almost 100 years. fyi... been in okaloosa county on an off since 1962....

Coming from a metropolitan city elsewhere and having visited family living in Crestview, I would say it was a very a pleasant escape from most other places in the US. I wouldn't mind retiring in Crestview.
It doesn't surprise me that the old stats showed Crestview to be poor. My dad was originally from California but graduated from high school there in 61"( yeah he was old) he got out as soon as he could. He used to tell me that the houses were in poor condition and shingles were falling off houses. He only lived there for a year. Very run down and poor with nothing to do. He would be shocked to see what it has become.
The only thing that’s growing in Crestview are the neighborhoods, we don’t have enough places to employ the population of this town. It’s mostly low paying entry level jobs. Traffic during the summertime is terrible because were directly off interstate 10 traffic getting back into Crestview during the school year around 3 to 7 it’s pretty much backed up.Gas prices are around $.10-$.15 more than the neighboring cities. There are accidents all the time, and when you’re leaving Crestview people are normally doing like 65+ in a 45 mile an hour zone.I’m not even gonna talk about the police force here in the entire county of Okaloosa

love how you complain about people being in a hurry there (from out of state) and yet you cant drive, or rather, you intentionally drive over curbs (in a hurry I suppose? or that only matters when someone else does it?), drive in the opposite direction on the side of the road and complain about losing it on those type of people. Look in your rearview mirror. Listen to your complaint at 18:00 and yet you drive right over a curb while talking about someone else driving bad. WOW
