As an ohioan from a small town outside of the cincy area these are the kind of people I grew up around. No matter what race, political or religious standpoint you have you can be comfortable partying around them. i also travel to Tennessee, kentucky, and west virginia frequently to hike in the Appalachian. People from these states really are some of the most wholesome out there.

I think my favorite part about this is that everyone has the ability to fix their own shit if it breaks. I think there is a lot of freedom in that.
and a lot of good strong self-reliance in that. When I buy something I learn how to fix it myself, I won't go to a shop to fix it unless its outright dangerous or cheaper to do so like my crossbow when I get a new string for it I give it to my local outfitter to string because I don't have the equipment.

Hard to fuck over those with mutual respect. When a person turns to greed and wants to become mega rich and over charge for services there is 0 respect. These red necks will help and only charge a modest amount. I work for a red neck, i charge him 30 to 40 bucks per day and when i need his help it only costs me 30 or 40 bucks. If a redneck friend breaks down we go help them and not charge friends money beyond a bit of gas if travel too far. Never rich but as a community we dont need massive money cause we help cheap and often times free. So ya hard to screw over good hearted people that would be there for you. Not financially but physically to save money. Just havin a good time livin in the moment

I’m a Californian and I was a salesman for Eastman, I had many meetings at the main office at Kingsport. The ppl there were without a doubt very respectful and down to earth. Im a conservative living in rural Northern California who recently retired at 57. I’m selling my land and moving to Idaho soon. I thought about Tennessee but it’s just a little too redneck for me. The main problem with these areas including parts of Idaho is so many people are strung out on drugs. I’m retired law enforcement and see the devastating damage drugs do to communities. Proud to have never used drugs and I’m successful and healthy because of that decision. If people could understand the damage drugs that are shipped in from places including China cause and then stay away from them the country would be so much stronger.

These young men here are descendants of those kinda people. Fighters and farmers to a one. Im from Illinois my wife from West Virginia. When we visit her family I feel like I belong. Most of them are just like these folks. Just the state alone feels more like freedom then ive ever known. They are very respectful, welcoming, and know how to have a good time. It is my second home and these folks are right about everything.
I was stationed at Fort Campbell for 5 years and I loved Tennessee. They are hard core supporters of the military. I grew up in north Florida where it’s all county so Tennessee was like home to me those 5 years.

If you’re surrounded by misery and anger… maybe that should be a sign that it’s not the world spreading it, it’s something coming out of you. I’m not gonna give you a life story but I promise you that I found that out myself and put in hard work to become a humble and better person. The world is tough, but it’s not hopeless.

So far I am loving this video! I am a black man from the DMV. The Washington DC area. I feel bad to hear about the chronic drug problem in Eastern Tennessee. The drug problem is all over this country. Would I be accepted in their town? I hope so. These dudes are down to earth straight genuine! I love that!

Mr. Smith everyone is accepted around here. In God’s eyes we’re all the same. The biggest majority of people from the greater Tri-Cities area were raised to believe nobody is better than anyone else and that life brings with it enough hardship without us making more for ourselves.
I live right across the state line in nc through Roan mountain about 20 minutes from these boys and I about guarantee you that you'd be welcomed there or up here where we're from. Just a good old bunch of country boys that loves everybody.
