Looking forward to seeing the real challenges, addressing how you tackle the issues and thankful for any tips you bring - so we the lay people can learn too.

Sir you are an absolute star..and so down to earth with great sense of humour..I'm a puppy raiser for guide dogs and notice no little treats or kibble was involved, just your and the pups focus was involved.. so good!!..more please thankyou

Great video, we foster dogs so used these tactics on all types of breeds and they do seem to work, after a bit of practice! Learned loads watching these videos, love that Charlie doesn't use any treats and the running away tactic, is really effective way to recall the dog.

Looking forward to following Nala's journey with you. Do you never ever use treats?

That little bit of eye contact towards the end of her healing session there may have been the first fully focused attention she has either given or had. She seems a lovely natured young lady and I'm sure that you'll do a great job with her.
Will you have a dedicated trainer for her or will you have more than one of the team working with her?

I’m very exited for this “new series” obviously it amazing to see a young puppy grow up and shaped to a amazing well trained dog but it’s another story to see a unruly almost grown up dog to be trained. It’s going to be very interesting to see the ups and downs in the training.

Please, make videos of Nola's progression as this is a case of many dog owners and it will be of a great benefit. 🙏

Interested in this, taken on 3yr old Bracco rescue, 45kg dog, absolutely Zero manners zero boundaries, pulls like train, but a great willingness to please. So I watch you avidly with Nala. Da vinci is to be a gundog too😂 I might have bitten off more than I can chew

What a lovely dog Nala is. Thank you for this video 😊 I had my 18 week old Gordon Setter x GWP puppy at her first gundog training today. All we did was introducing her to a placeboard and working on focus. My trainer also said he wasn't worried about dogs jumping up in the early stages. He told me it's more important to develop a strong bond and have the dog wanting to be with you. Being a child in the 70s, I grew up knowing the Barbara Woodhouse training style. Then more recently, positive reinforcement training where it was all about click & treat (yup - stuffing the dog's face with treats 😆). Today wasn't just my puppy's first gundog training, it was mine too. But everything my trainer (Steve Leach) taught and explained why to train this way makes so much more sense. Looking forward to our next class next weekend 😁 (Steve was eyeing up my puppy as a potential working gundog too 😊)

so excited to see this series . Im at my wits end with my badly trained 2 yr old lab.
would you let the dog run around in a small fenced paddock to let off steam and then put him on slip lead to do training after that?

We've adopted a Griffon/Brittany X with similarly few manors. It is going to be great to follow along with Nala's progress and pick up tips for our own rehabilitation process along the way. Looking forward to it. Thxs for sharing.

Confused that you are saying heal even when she is in front of you.

I think she can’t pull if she’s following Charlie and then when he does eventually turn round then she will be in the right place. Is that right Charlie?
