Retriever Drills for Slow Moving Dogs

All dogs are different and it's important to train the one in front of you. If your dog happens to be slower moving, less hyper and more of a jogger than a dirt-kickin' runner... then this might be a great drill for you to use with your duck dog.

I like doing what i call "play chase" by running backwards as the dog comes in. About the last 10-15 yards. For some reason they get in that "i gotta catch you and show u what i got" state of mind. Works wonders for a lower drive/slower dog. Most if not all retrievers like to play and show off their prize.
