It’s definitely a lot of fun there, and we barely scratched the surface with the Blue runs. There’s a lot more different colour runs to do as well. Riding the berms still feels weird, so I guess you have to get used to trusting the tyres and letting it flow up the bank. But at the moment I’m still on the brakes more than I should, and I felt like I was flying down. But viewing the footage afterwards, it seemed a lot slower. I still nearly got thrown over the handlebars taking off on one of the rollers. Cheers Wayne
@@DarrenPhillips It is truly awesome! If you want a hand from a physiology / coaching side then let me know! I coach a number of MTB'ers and triathletes part time for fun!
Thanks Lewis, I don’t feel bad, as I enjoyed myself and thought I did better than the previous attempt on the gravel bike. I actually surprised myself with my fitness on the climbs and being able to keep up. I didn’t fall off, so that was the main thing!
Great video. I’ve recently found the love for mountain biking again, after spending most the summer riding road events around Somerset. I’m now concentrating on my mountain bike through the winter here in South Wales
Why not do the Ashton court trails as there a great start and Leigh woods, you could even do a pedal progression trainer day to get a bit more confidence Nice to see you finally on an MTB tho
I bought the Dnister Black version. Ripped out that drivetrain for SLX. Far better. Powerspline BB is heavy and poor as is the SX rear mech and shifter
@@DarrenPhillips more than likely. Its a great frame etc but that BB is not worthy of a Trek. They should have put Sram Eagle NX with DUB BB for the price they are charging.
That’s an excellent bike park. It looked like a nice rip down that single track at the end of your video. Banked corners and a fist full of brake 😝😝

This is amazing, exactly what mountain biking is all about!!
Thanks Jake, I’m certainly enjoying my experience so far. I’m excited to see where this bike can take me!

Reminds me of my MTB days… i was always ‘rear gunner’ as well Darren, so dont feel bad.

Thanks Lee, it’s definitely nice to have the option of the variety of bikes and terrains to ride. Particularly in the winter.
Sold my mountain bike last year as i rode more road and gravel. Now youve got me looking at mountain bikes again!
Hahaha! Ride all the bikes Shane! Variety is the spice of life!! 😜
I need to introduce you to the world of e-mtb'ing - absolute game changer...
It might be a while before I’m allowed to buy another bike!! 😬🙄

I’ll add it to the long list of places to try! Exciting times!!

I’ll see how it goes, but I think the clanking is already the BB!

Once I’ve had chance to investigate, I’ll have a look at that one, thanks!
