Theres a lot to be said for getting away from the cars and head off road! Looked great fun Darren and great video (as per usual). What awesome trails!

Thanks Steve, it’s a beautiful area. I am enjoying the suspension on the MTB, as it makes the off road stuff even more enjoyable.

There is nothing surer than Mt biking testing your fitness! So we’ll done for sticking it out after having the dreaded lurgy once again. Take it easy👍

Thanks Spike! It does seem funny spending hours riding and getting nowhere, but thoroughly enjoying just riding a bike!

Woodbury a great MTB area, hills not too bad ( unlike Quantocks/ Exmoor) used to ride the regular MTB races on Woodbury! Well done, offroad is much harder than road !

Thanks Ian, I really enjoyed it, so I’ll definitely be back to explore some of the other routes over the common. Yep, it’s definitely hard! 😂

Good work Darren… i always say 60 miles on road is equivalent to 20 off road regarding toll on your body… can be brutal, but ace fun. Well done.

Thanks Lewis, I didn’t notice on the day, but whilst editing, I could hear the wheeze in my laugh. So still a few weeks down the road from Covid, it wouldn’t surprise me, if that was a factor. It took me three weeks to shake it.
I am really enjoying riding the MTB though, I can’t put my finger on it, but it just puts a huge smile on your face.

Hi Darren, another great video and great inspiration. My recumbent trike group have quite a few members in the Exeter area and the wider sections of trail look feasible so has inspired me to look at possibilities.

Thanks Tim, it was a beautiful area to ride a bike! There were some short sharp steep rises, but it was mostly flat. Let me know how you get on?

Loved the video, it looked like my dream area. Don’t be too harsh on yourself, we all have wobbly legs every so often, and you looked a tad pasty that day. Also some of your pals had pretty exotic bikes, even more exoticerer than yours! It must make a difference. 👍

Thanks, I’m glad you liked it. I’m still adjusting to riding a MTB after years on the road, so hopefully, I’ll get used it. I knew my fitness isn’t where it usually is after injuring myself on my bike-packing trip and having to take time off the bike to recover. The last few weeks wasn’t really planned. Plus I’d usually be on Zwift in the week now, but the Puppy would just go mental!! 😂 so not sure how I get around that at the moment. Unless I can strap him to my back 😬🤔😂

I tow a trailer behind my mtb when I take the dog to a cafe once or twice a week. We introduced him to the trailer the first week that we got him as a puppy, so he quite likes our trips out, and on holiday. He only weighs about 10 kilos fully grown though, I bet your pup isn’t far off that already 🥵

He’s growing very fast! By the size of his paws, I’m not sure he’ll be small for very long.
