I’m not an advisor trying to flog you a thermie, just good honest content. Do you have a favourite dish which you like to cook in the tm6?

      @@RichieTheFoodie I really do enjoy your very down to earth approach to your videos, and your happy banter is refreshingly engaging compared to other TM bloggers.
      A favourite dish? . . . hmmmm . . . well, even though I've only had the TM6 (aka gift from god) for a few days now, but have still used it several times, there is a recipe I'd like to see be TM converted.
      It's one that I got from an elderly French friend (Fi) who helped me improve my cooking skills no end. She used to make a dish that has become a favourite indeedy :-) . It's called Chicken au gratin Henri IV and I have the recipe on a well used piece of paper.
      Uhm, how would I send a PDF to you?
      I'm dead keen to have a crack at the Sous Vide Creme Brûlée you did in one of your videos. Nom nom nom.

      @@Pauleigh55 thanks, again, your feedback is very much appreciated. I guess my love for the TM6 shows through.
      Ok, this recipe of yours sounds like it’s oven baked, going by the name of it. I love, love French cooking. Feel free to send the pdf to richiethefoodie@gmail.com.
      I hadn’t realised you had only just recently purchased. Lots to discover yet! And I do recommend the creme brûlée, or anything sous vide. 🙋🏻‍♂️😀RTF

    I’ve had my TM6 for nearly 3 weeks now. It’s the best investment I’ve ever made. I’m making the risotto this week, I’ve tried it before and it’s delicious. I’m still experimenting with other recipes but all have been delicious so far.👌

    Nice to have such a no-nonsense approach to using a thermomix, please keep 'em coming! I'd be particularly interested in some chefy basics, like making stock in a thermomix (can it do brown/white stocks etc.?), creme pattissiere, slow cooking meat etc. Thanks

    • @RichieTheFoodie
      @RichieTheFoodie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Andy L thanks very much mate. As much as I love this thing, I try to remain as impartial as possible. I really appreciate the positive comment 😀.
      Indeed , the thermie makes decent stocks. To be honest, I’ve only made the vegetable stock and it’s spot on. Keeps in the fridge for weeks. I will be trying the chicken and meat stock. There would be nothing stopping you making your own specialty stocks.
      I have made the creme patt when I made profiteroles. It’s so easy!
      I haven’t tried the slow cooker function yet, maybe that’s a good idea for a video. Any more questions you may have, Andy, please ask away. I’m more than happy to answer. Thanks for supporting my channel! 🙋🏻‍♂️😀RTF

      @@RichieTheFoodie Your videos were the ones that made me realise I'd enjoy having a thermomix. I wonder if, rather than focussing on showing pre-existing recipes, you can use your chef knowledge to show how it can be a good sous chef. Like sous vide a steak then use it for a bearnaise sauce whilst frying off (you mention this in one of your vids). But would be good to see how that way of working looks in practice. I'm sure there will be other examples of how the machine can complement a chef or use to best effect across the working week to prep bulk cooks on the weekend for an easier week etc. Anyway, thanks for the prompt reply!! :)

      @@andrewlainguk no problem at all. I’m always happy to reply. You’re right, I actually missed a trick with the steak, I served it with a manual peppercorn sauces. I think I could make a video making the bearnaise to go with a steak. I’ll definitely look into this. I also want to start making my own recipes instead of following a preset own. This will definitely happen this year. Again, thanks for your contribution and support 🙋🏻‍♂️😀RTF

    Richie, these are great vids, thanks. I love the honesty of them. I totally agree that the TM6 as a nervous purchase however I'm on the cusp of committing. I'd be interested in your thoughts as a user, as to how you think it can ease family cooking. I'm Coeliac, along with my daughter who is also vegetarian. My wife is veggie as well and my youngest daughter is a typical 13 yo fussy eater. Nothing complex about our meal times then!!! 😄. The forward planning and shopping list apps sound great. I want to get my youngest more engaged in cooking and healthy eating however I'm fighting Tiktok, Snapchat, homework and teenage dramas, OMG #LOL! With supervision, is this 'young person friendly', she is a sensible girl. I wonder if committing to a meal plan a week or two ahead and getting her to choose from the Cookiedoo menu or designing her own would help. Also, 'safe eating' in our house is a big issue. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

      Hi there. Thanks very much, I appreciate the feedback. Regarding family cooking, absolutely brilliant, right up there I’d say. It can be a lot of fun following along with recipes. As for dietary requirements, it’s easy to search Cookido for your needs. The vegetarian options are naturally growing day by day. Child friendly? Most definitely! If you’re following a set recipe, it’s virtually impossible to burn/spoil anything. The interactive side of things will certainly suit the younger generation. I’m on TikTok under the same name if you want to pop over and say hi! I’d say a younger person would be fine even without supervision as long as they are aware of the blade.
      I hope this suits your family if you make the purchase. I’m sure it will. Definitely keep me posted and thanks again for your support. 🙋🏻‍♂️😀RTF

    Why does it ask to add boiling water ? Isn’t this supposed to do exactly that ? Why using an extra thing ?

    • @RichieTheFoodie
      @RichieTheFoodie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. It asks for boiling water as it is part way through the cooking process. Cold water could spoil the texture. When you make traditional risotto, you add water just off the boil in parts. This would probably work adding cold water, but you would have to lengthen the cooking time.
