"Don't listen to me kids, I can't guarantee safety or success" made me laugh probably more than it should have, so I then felt bad haha. But I laughed because I related to it so much (too much 😂)
My solo travels started very similarly - none of my friends had the time, budget or the will to go to the same places as I did so I went by myself instead. Even though I love travelling with my family and friends, if they are not in for it, then I will not limit myself because of it. I need to enjoy what I like.
high-five! I missed few opportunities because couldn't find anyone to travel with me at the time to the place I wanted to go and few years ago I decided not to wait on anyone. if I plan to go somewhere, I will ask around whether anyone is interested to go there as well and if yes - cool, let's go together, but if not - cool as well, I will go by myself, enjoy doing things I like and not adjusting to anyone's expectations. I probably wouldn't go backpacking in Asia or South America all by myself, but visiting European cities is perfectly fine alone :)
As a person who is afraid of steeping outside the house without anyone, I am SO impressed with you. You manage to go out, take public transport and even put the camera on a bench and record yourself, this is massive whether you recognise it or not!! I am genuinely so proud of you Taz
I just moved to a new country all by myself to study. I was an anxious wreck, but now I'm here, and yes I'm still anxious af just thinking about going outside, but if I of all people can make it to a new country and stay alive for at least a week, then all of you can do anything as well.
I went to London by myself for 3 days back in 2019, big step but I loved every second of it and I am now way more comfortable with doing things on my own. I also just went out for dinner/lunch on my own and nobody cared!
Damn, this is so relevant! I feel confident with the thought of travelling for vacation alone but local travelling alone just makes me feel lil lonely. I've been asking my friends to go out but nobody is free or willing. So it's just ol me chilling.
Such a joyous video… I also started solo travelling in 2019 after many years travelling with my partner (25 years), I was so nervous about doing it, I knew I loved travelling but how would it be on my own? …. I should not have worried, I had the greatest time and now it’s my preferred way to travel. Eating on your tod in a restaurant is the most daunting part of solo travel so I tend to eat out for lunch when there’s less of a stigma to eating along and then cook for the evening back at the Airbnb or I get a takeaway.
This notification came at the perfect timing. About to cry from a grocery store trip (as someone with an eating disorder that sucks also instant sensory overload). So yeah thank you for the video, it has helped me for years with my ED. 🥰
Something that helps me is that I get certain things in certain shops. Fruit and veg at a farm shop, meat at a butcher, both of which I walk to. Then non perishables and butter/milk etc from the supermarket. Because I cook mostly from scratch, it doesn’t really matter what is in stock because I can make a meal out of it. But to not have to do it all in one go and the supermarket visit are every couple of weeks only, really helps with that overwhelming feeling. And keeping to mostly buying ingredients rather than premade stuff means I’m not always reading labels which is a massive trigger for me. So, lump of butter, bag of sugar, flour, rice, etc, and then I can make basically anything I fancy. Hope this trick is helpful to someone out there who also struggles with food shopping. I’ve cried and walked out on more than one occasion in the past, or panicked and come out with a load of random stuff I didn’t want and couldn’t afford. Breaking it up like this is my answer.
Hope you are doing better today, I know its easier said than done but as someone in recovery from an ED I have to say it has made my life so much more worth while (not saying food is everything) but food is involved in almost every event in our lives (days out/birthday dinners/christmas) and you really miss out on these events because all you can think about is how hungry you are. I promise recovery is worth it in the end and you won't regret it, I wish you all the best ❤️XX
lol i always do things alone and go out to cafes by myself and like write about my feelings and just let it out on paper. It feels so great to enjoy your company. Once u get embedded in that, you wont feel anyone's eyes on you!
OMW Taz! I literally got so excited to see you watching Hometown Cha Cha Cha! It's so good. Side note: I think we get tired so easily because our bodies are so used to being indoors since lockdown last year.
I flipped cause I recently saw it pop up on Netflix and it has Kim Seon-ho so I was like ahhhhhhhh and then taz said she really wanted to watch it …. I flipped ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh love it!!!
This video was a very interesting watch, Taz asking if you have a healthy work life balance and Taz partaking in an activity which will make her more comfortable doing things alone I.e facing tasks difficult for her. It really made me think about how being employed full-time I barely get chance for spare time to complete the basics such as shopping, doctors appointments etc let alone do I have time to try and face my fears or force myself out of my comfort zone. Life is so fast paced. I wish I'd have chosen TH-cam or something similar as a career, the opportunities TH-camrs have available to them and the time they have is incredible and makes me ever so slightly jealous.
Im a broke gal who cant have the timr and luxury to travel to places I like to visit, and I dont usually watch travel vlogs cause I feel like missing out with all the beautiful trips. but seeing you traveling alone while being happy makes me feel happy too! Honestly, this has inspired me to go solo travelling again. Once restrictions has lifted in my area, will definitely go travel again. Also, the editing in this is wonderful! I’m usually confused when a video is sponsored by a company that doesn’t even have a connection to the video but every Nintendo Switch appearance relates to the scene and that’s just *chefs kiss*. Very smart, Taz!

Kinda had the similar experience with you when I first solo traveled, only difference was my best friends who I was to go with both got their visa applications rejected so I ended up going alone instead of wasting the opportunity that I got. It was a little scary (especially during the check-in at the airport lol) but it was also so cathartic in the sense that you have all your time in your hands, no one to take care of and account for except yourself, so I honestly recommend solo traveling to everyone who has the means to! Anyway, yes! I just want to share that and tell you (Taz and everyone!!) that I'm proud of you coming out of your comfort zone. 🥺 Also, Hometown Cha Cha Cha!! Haven't watched K-drama in ages but when this came out I was so sure that I'll love it (and I did!!). It's really goooood (even with the cliche slo-mo eye contact scene lol)!
I'm so happy for you taking this trip and doing something for yourself! To be honest I am at a place in my life where I just love traveling or doing things mainly on my own 😅. And I am pretty confident that I am my own best company and buddy! Exactly like you said, there are so many opportunities and wasting time by waiting for people is just useless. I used to stop myself from doing things or visiting places because my friends wouldn't find it interesting and didn't want to join me, but I was into the activities, so I simply decided that if I enjoy something and I am curious about it, I should just go. Sometimes it might get lonely, but there are many cons in solo trips and we should focus on them❤️
I have started doing stuff alone too. Not alot but I have been consistently going to see movies I want to see alone at the cinema. Of course it felt weird at first when I was getting in line to get popcorn alone and almost everyone is in a group or paired up but I like it alot now.
I loved this video! There was something almost therapeutic about watching Taz take a me weekend and enjoy the city. I think I need to book myself a hotel now lol

OMG I started watching hometown cha cha cha last week its soooo good! Episodes come out every Sunday though- so I have to wait 6 more days to watch the next episode but I'm in love
Hey Taz I've been so inspired by your travel vids that I'm now doing the same. I live in Mexico City and I started visiting small towns and little villages just 2 or 3 (even 4) hours away from the city on the weekends, not spending the night (so far) at the place. I guess I just got tired of waiting for life and friends to be available, so I started taking small trips (like you said in this vid), I'm telling you, it's wonderful!!. I'm still amazed by how just one full day (I'm talking about from 6am to 8 or 9 pm) does for you, it really helps to distract you from all the troubles and forces you to find yourself. I've been doing this once a month since the pandemic situation allowed a little more traveling here, and it's amazing!! I must say though, I still feel super awkward and weird when eating alone in restaurants and such places, but I feel so happy for just going for it!! Thank you for the inspiration!! LOVE YOU.
You are an absolute delight to watch. Well done on doing something on your own, I was in my late 30' thr first time I went to the movies, ate at a restaurant and travelled all by myself. Its an amazing experience.
My healthy way of life is doing exactly what I want without people judging me! I stopped being a puppet and now I'm enjoying life even if people don't agree with me, I try not to go care. I decided not to work or do anything stressful, I'm enjoying life at the fullest and it's working amazing for me 💗 Step outside the matrix and what they told you during all your life
Get out there and enjoy me time!! I do it all the time, as you said you can't put your life on hold for your friends!! If you want to do something or go and see something, then do it!!
I feel you since covid walking to my local shop makes my anxiety terrible i wanna be able to do stuff alone again im not even sure where to start anymore
I have been saying that for long time. Solo traveling is something you should definitely do while you are young and no family. I have done that in 2015 in 7 states of US. Was best experience in my life. Felt like I became different person, not afraid of being alone. Now I have 2 kids and a husband. Traveling is like moving to somewhere else.
I been all over UK and after a few days there's not much to do. By 7 days I've had enough. There's much more to do abroad. However, the realistic possibilities are endless in London and always new spots to discover
I actually went out (had stuff to do) and had lunch by myself. And it was scary at first and I thought people were gonna judge me but surpiringly it was nice! Yea people stared a bit but after that it was really nice!but only when it's not so crowded. Those times still scare me. I don't like crowded areas.
I'm so here for these awesome sponsorships!!! You deserve it, Taz!!! Great video with awesome msg's for all of us...glad you got to chill and got paid xx
I love your energy !!… I have just come back from a weekend away in London! I’m from down south however London was amazing ! There was so much to do ! I went to Kensington just amazing and my daughter loved the natural history museum! Thankyou taz for another amazing vid ! 🥰
growing up in Hong Kong, my grandma used to get me vanilla or chocolate cake rolls from some small local bakery for me after school in every few days, I love them so much haha! glad you enjoyed them as well
I did a solo trip to Portugal a couple of years ago and at the airport on the way back, i met a woman who was staying at the same hotel as me with her husband. She saw me and said "i felt sorry for you spending time by yourself at the hotel". My response "don't feel sorry - i had the best time and the best company!"
To answer the question, work to play balance. I, personally usually only work 4 days a week, decent pay, but I also love my job, which isn't something I use to be able to say. My shifts sometimes suck hour wise though, because I have set hours. 2 days of 1:30pm-10pm and 2 days of 6:30pm-2:30am. Sometimes more days if they need covers. I do consider this balanced fairly, but sometimes it messes up my sleep schedule, which does kinda suck.
Absolutely amazing watching you grow... Thank you for sharing your journey... May it always be full of fun and exciting things and people and places... Here's to more Safe Adventures 🙏🏼❤️
Solo travelling in/to London 🚉🚆💂 What I was waiting for.. 😍 On my bucket list 🪣too. Good for the Mental Health too 🧘 Luckily I've had the experience of eating alone at lunch breaks so I don't think I'd find it hard 😢🤔🥣

Omg I’m so exited and I’m so glad your traveling again can’t wait for more videos , you really thrived when you travelled and you looked so happy you really make me look forward to adulthood lmao 😂 ❤️❤️

I decided not to work or do anything stressful, I'm enjoying life at the fullest and it's working amazing for me 💗 Step outside the matrix and what they told you during all your life
Ngl I felt like I was sitting in the room chillin’ with you whilst talking about life/anxiety😂
However, the realistic possibilities are endless in London and always new spots to discover
okay I just genuinely wanna say that taz you are RADIANT in this video, inside and out

Tax you are super smart , lovable and an amazing human. Love you for what you are .
I actually went out (had stuff to do) and had lunch by myself. And it was scary at first and I thought people were gonna judge me but surpiringly it was nice! Yea people stared a bit but after that it was really nice!but only when it's not so crowded. Those times still scare me. I don't like crowded areas.
TAZ YOURE SUCH A LIFE SAFER YOU LITERALLY MAKE ME FEEL SAFE 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

taaaaaz you should continue watching hometown chachacha!!!!it’s literally so good, heartwarming, and the stories are so beautiful. btw ily
Yess please watch hometown cha cha cha!!!!its soo good !
I'm not even mad at the ad in this vid because I do agree with Taz on how nice the switch is
Best nintendo add ever
