this has probably been pointed out a gazillion times but I love the symbolism of the seven sins with the girls throwing their stuff into the fire- avarice, lust, vanity... at least I think that's what they were going for...
She is a talented musician.Apkalypsis is already one of my favorite albums.i have mad respect for her handling out several genres and no matter what delivering the music and atmosphere.God i think i can fangirl over her all day.
I love the subtle use of creepy ambient noises in the background. You don't realize how much it adds to the production till you listen to it live.
The symbol at the beginning and end in the rock, and on the girls dresses is a Ancient Norse Rune Stone known as Laguz. It is the rune of the waters, hence MER. The "r" in MER is written as this Rune symbol. Laguz concerns itself with imagination and dreaming. It suggests that we let things flow to us, rather than aggressively going after them. Laguz carries a deeply spiritual energy, one that asks us to connect with the more intuitive and psychic aspects of ourselves. It asks us to feel our way rather than think our way forward. Hope this adds some wisdom to interpreting meaning.

Chelsea is the embodiment of gorgeousness. Her talent, intellect, uniqueness, beauty and her kind disposition are stunning. She will be known as one of the greatest artists of her generation. I wish I could hug this woman for all the hard times her beautiful music has gotten me through.
Knowing humans in general, Chelsea probably won't get the recognition she deserves until she's been dead 40 years, like Nick Drake. I'd love to be wrong though!
So I think the women are doing a ritual to punish their husbands/boyfriends for their crimes. One girl throws coins into the fire and one of the mans pockets start spilling out sand showing that his problem was greed and/or a love of possessions rather than of his wife/girlfriend, I think the second guys problem was that he was unfaithful as the girl throws a garter from one of the other girls into the fire, and with the third guy a girl throws a mirror into the fire and his eyes start bleeding showing that his problem was vanity

Unworthy Unbeliever i don't really know about the skull but there are green and white candle the green candle it's used to help us get what we desire and the white candle I guess could be used to protect the women or could represent the rise of men spirituality

Either it resonates or it dosn't. :) For those of us that "get" Chelsea's music and perspective, it feels so relatable, and just so right.
I personally think anything that takes you a little out of your comfort zone is usually a good thing. But that's cool you at least checked it out!
As everyday passess I grow to love this music more and more. Whereas I would use reverb to, not only create atmosphere, but to kind of mask my lackluster vocals, she has a beautiful voice and the reverb just gives it more of a haunting effect.

Interesting. The first symbol seen (like a lowercase r) is symbolic in runes as "Flow" (Water, Sea, a fertility source.). The M that starts the word MER is akin to the rune symbol for "Movement" (Horse, associated with the Course of the Sun.) Water = feminine. (as seen with the women on the beach) Sun = Masculine (as seen with the lit candles/fire)
Also, the word "mer" means "sea" in French

+Erin Archambault If I had a moment to write proper interpretation, with clues, cultural references, symbolicism, my main statement would be the song is about sins 'cause lyrics seems to be about sexuality but as something bad and worth of shame ("How can you live with yourself?"). But I am not sure if I am right. English is not my best side and it's quite hard to understand meaning of songs in foreign language when author plays on word like in poetry.
thats a really good interpretation! i used this song for a project in music class and mine was that she was comparing a destructive realtionship, that she was ashamed of, to the sea which can be equally destructive and shes ashamed that she needs this relationship i the same way that she needs water... idk. haha.

it's all about embracing your dark side. demons the moon. monsters, MOONstars it's just a deity of the moon but it's also a part of you. since the moon rules your subconscious mind just like the sun rules your conscious mind. so how could you live with yourself while demonising your shadow self. she wants us to know that we are one. the yin and the yang.. but then again the media church etc will keep demonising it so as long as you believe them you will never have control of your subconscious aspects which are really more powerful than your conscious aspects but your work is to be aware of both..in this world everyone is blind but the ones with their third eye open have an advantage and will always be in control as long as we stay asleep
