  • Kenya visa free entry policy - It is no secret that Kenya is one of Africa's most popular destinations. The country's allure as one of Africa's premier destinations stems from its breathtaking wildlife, highlighted by the iconic Maasai Mara and the annual Great Migration. Kenya's diverse landscapes, including majestic mountains and pristine beaches, offer a wealth of natural beauty. Coupled with a rich cultural heritage and commitment to sustainable tourism, Kenya attracts roughly 1.5 million annual visitors seeking an authentic African experience. There was a lot of excitement at the tail end of 2023, when Kenyan President William Ruto, who has long championed the vision of a borderless Africa, announced plans to make travelling to Kenya visa-free for all foreigners starting in January 2024. However, As January 2024 has rolled around, praise for Kenya has quickly turned to sharp criticism, as the country is now facing severe backlash for implementing its visa-free entry policy. Why is Kenya being criticised for its visa-free entry policy? And how could this impact Kenya's ambitious tourism goals? In today's video, we will offer deep insights into these questions and more.
In a momentous speech during Kenya's 60th Independence Day celebrations on December 12, 2023, President William Ruto unveiled a groundbreaking policy: abolishing visas for all international visitors starting January 1st, 2024. He proclaimed, "It shall no longer be necessary for any person from any corner of the globe to carry the burden of applying for a visa to come to Kenya!" This bold move, Replacing traditional visas with a streamlined online platform for electronic travel authorization, aims to revolutionize Kenya's tourism industry and solidify its position as Africa's premier travel destination. Ruto, who has repeatedly urged African countries to ditch visas and pursue the free movement of people and goods across the continent, passionately declared, "Kenya has a simple message to humanity: Welcome Home!" He painted a vibrant picture of Kenya's diverse offerings, from the awe-inspiring Great Migration and majestic Mount Kenya to the sun-kissed beaches and vibrant coral reefs, inviting the world to experience the country's unique blend of breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality. The announcement was met with jubilant cheers and widespread applause, marking a turning point in Kenya's journey to open its arms to the world and unlock its full tourism potential.

I'm now convinced that Ruto doesn't seem to know what he's doing, or he's just intentionally being deceptive. He says one thing and does the exact opposite. It's not Visa free if the countries that needed no visa before to enter Kenya now have to pay for ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization). This ETA should have been required only from people coming from outside Africa, and not from African citizens too. Because if all African countries begin to implement this ETA requirement, it'll become harder to travel around the continent. This is very deceptive and anti free movement of the African people on their continent. Shame on Ruto and Kenya for taking Africa backwards like this.

There has to be restrictions! You cannot simply open up the country unattended. Africa still has to be protected from enemies and traitors!

Not really, I wish my country and other countries in the region unite as a step to a bigger African united states and have no visa requirements for all Africans and African descents.
Now that would mean anybody can come but not anybody can stay because they will have to respect the rules or else they will be deported immediately.
No tents and refugee camps, there should be a refugee program that provides humane conditions for the refugee and also keep the country organized.
So visa free is not a problem at all as long as there are laws that should be respected or deportation

If you want to charge for a process, Visa on arrival is beneficial for the country. Chinese are involved in collecting processing fee. It is not visa free. No one pays for a free thing.

    Listen!
The problem is that the eTA is a well kept secret!
As a European, I have traveled to Kenya 20+ times. Since 2016 on electronic visa which I applied for at eCitizen immigration website. Now it is not working and there is no information about the eTA.
That I found out through a friend who had a friend who is in Kenya.
I have a number if European friends who also travel many times to Kenya .
None of us knew about eTA because it says nothing about it at the former visa-website.
I know many people go o the wrong websites and pay way too much.
I am not surprised about the visa. Kenya needs to know who you are.
Only don't call it "visa-free" because it is not. And it is also not "fee-free" like the president said it would be.
And people who see this should know that the fee is not around $34 and not $ 150 or 250 or 350!
If you have o pay that you are in the wrong place!

Change the wording as its not free and also misleading all. It is more efficient and safer for the country though needs to be clarified to all. Vietnam does the same, I apply online on or before the day I purchase a ticket or land in Vietnam. Its easy and cheap
