Fantastic video. We modified it a bit to fit the 82" width of our lawn swing. No way do we get the new canopy sewn without this video. I am a 62 year old male who has never sewn in his life and my sewing partner is my 91 year old mom. We must have viewed the video 10+ times but we nailed it! My only recommendation would be to share with the viewer if they do not want to add the binding that they can simply hem the edges of the material. That is what we did.
Great video, as usual. Seems very clear to follow and well done. But, where can I buy swing chairs, swing love seats, or gliders with shade tops, all similar to your swing chair? Many do not have tops for shade, and models are very limited for different tastes. Thank you for your help in finding a beautiful swing chair for two...
Measure your frame and add 1/4" to all sides for seam allowance. I would then sew pockets and valances edges on using a 1/2" seam allowance, which will make the top fit nice and tight, slightly smaller in size than the frame.
How much fabric did you use for your particular swing in this video? I have one that is similar however the canopy was thrown away so I do not have it to measure everything. I will use your measurements. But how many yards will I need to order? Thank you so much for ALL of your videos and easy explanations! Very much appreciated
This vid makes it seem so easy.yyyy. But wish my gma did not throw way the original top. Hm mm now to figure them out and thanks for the fabric suggestions vs occasional fabric use.
Awesome! Since I google Hyezmar’s Woodworking Bible I got into this wonderful craft more and more, I’m on my third project now and it’s been super easy.
Rosalind Hewitt I think this is how to let you know that I am interested in you making a canopy for me. I would appreciate it so much. how do I go about this? looking forward to hearing from you. p.s. I have the old one for a pattern.

Good job! Also a great suggestion about not using binding, a double hem is an excellent way to finish that edge.
Corona Virus self isolation project. Does it look as good as Angela's? No. Will it do for me? Yes. Thanks for this terrific video.
Great video, it has inspired me to take a new awning. Can you tell me the size of the metal frame your awning is going over?

How do you measure to get it nice and taught when you don't have an existing one to use as a template?

Where can i find replacement metal canopy frame?
Great video! Do you have a tutorial for making the cushion portion of the same swing?
Sorry, we do not. I will add it to our list for a future video. Thanks for the suggestion!
Rosalind Hewitt...I just saw your message about making the canapy! I would like to have one made. Can you tell me how to,get in touch with you??
Where can I find a frame like that??
Did you say that Sailrite sells binders? If so, can it fit all sewing machines? Thank you.
Love the video, but would like to send my old one to you and have you make it...is this possible?
Shirley McIntyre Sorry, Shirley we do not sew finished jobs for customers anymore. We only sew projects for "DIY" (Do It Yourself) tutorial videos.

Shirley McIntyre Sorry, we do not do custom sewing, we only sell the fabric and supplies for DIY.
Do you need a heavy duty machine to sew ? I have a Brother sewing machine.
No, a home sewing machine using V-69 Polyester thread will do the job.
Fantastic video. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
