  • Using the ground to help improve stability and mobility is crucial. This drill is utilized in many different settings, and can profoundly influence the active component of hip external and internal rotation.

Are your sitting bones touching the ground at all times, or is it ok for one side to come up?

How important is it to keep opposite glute on the floor?

I get tremendous tight hip flexors doing all the 10 month variations. do you have any cues to resolve that gradually? 2nd question: sitting in a straddle position, I have a quite rounded lunar spine to stay upright sitting, what could be the cause and which drill would help ? thanks so much!

Work on this drill in conjunction with the 10 mos. hip mob to improve your T/L junction extension. th-cam.com/video/0kvpblXkaIE/w-d-xo.html

If someone lost the deep stabilization system unilaterally would you change treatment protocols or just do the same techniques as a bilateral patient?

I appreciate the question, but the human body doesn’t work via sides or while, rather by neurology and compensation.
      Hard question to answer therefore.

if assessed to have significant osteoarthritis plus cam and pincer impingement (left hip joint), is this drill a consideration to "rehab"? i.e. within boundaries of a range of motion between restriction/discomfort and pain

I would say it should be fine based on pain levels elicited during this drill. I will be providing a video discussing the issue with taking drills off a video and applying them to a specific pathology to help clear the air on this.
