I'm one of those lucky guys that actually fly fishes with their wife. She tries out new stuff i get, if she likes it she claims it for herself. Usually its something I really like so i buy another.😂

Visited my dentist last week and we discussed not using teeth to cut the line. Sometimes it is just easier in the moment.
We've all had that discussion at some point.
The 90 year old owner of our local shop says.. What happens at the flyshop..stays at the flyshop! He had a story of seeing a guys wife at the grocery store and said..tell Harold his flyrod is in, she gave him a stern look and said..What flyrod? Never again! 😂. But you should tell her you’re fishing with your friends, that could cause trust issues if caught lying. Buying a rod behind her back isn’t lying. Good luck! 👍👌🎣

Tie a tippet ring in to your tippet where ever you want your shot to be it won't slip then plus you can also change your flies quickly aswel 👍

Great Q&A my problem with split shot is not getting it to stay it’s getting it off , how does that work ? Don’t feel bad about having too many rods it could be worse my wife is sneaker than me . We laugh when we find new gear , “ Oh that old thing “ And yes we know we have a problem . Thanks for sharing

We hear that alot in the shop. Very true.
i do the same thing Dustin got 2 rods in my truck that live there behind the back seat just a tip if your ordering online like I do I get my stuff sent to the post office its way easier to sneak it in to the house then you can just hide it in trunk till she is not home works great for fly tying material just don't put the new stuff on top in your draw box or what have you under the first layer

Let's say you are fishing a river/stream, flow is somewhere around 250-300cfs, and there is a nice run with a deep pocket towards the head holding fish. What is the correct line for those conditions to get your nymph to drop quickly enough to get into that hole?

OK What's with the outhouse scrolling across the screen. As far as sneaking in the fly rods, since it's not possible to have too many fly rods that's OK. But, if she asks tell her the truth and make sure the mortgage is paid and there are groceries in the larder. As to out and out fibbing to her about fishing, don't. You will eventually get caught and it's just not worth it. I'm sure there are things she likes to do that don't include you, and that's fine for both of you. Maybe you could even get her to like fly fishing. Keep the good stuff coming guys/
