  • The Centre practice for balance is the perfect class you need to improve balance and stability. Whether it’s for your ballet classes of for your everyday life, Centre practice for balance will help you find the centre of your body and strength to deal with the most difficult tasks or ballet exercises.
    With centre practice for balance you will strength the muscles you need to use while in awkward and difficult positions, without the use of a barre you will have to concentrate to find the centre of your body, engage the right muscles and fight gravity.
    Don’t worry if you don’t succeed the first time, finding balance is hard, and this centre practice for balance will definitely help you to achieve your goal!
    Let’s do it!

    It's nice to see a simple short centre style class.
    I often do half hour (well, they are half an hour without the intros to the sequences) ballet bar style sessions from another channel (I'm looking forward to trying your longer classical barre one at some point). She has centres as well, that I occasionally try to do, but usually, if I have time and I want to keep going by that point, I just want to move and do something that feels somewhat dancey/expressive without spending at least half the time in the actual learning the sequence she proposes to do (I suppose you could just do one a time and the improvise around it, if you pick appropriate music, which would somewhat solve the issue, and is not something I thought of doing before writing this! lol). But, if you fancied were thinking of doing a couple of videos like that, it would be cool :) Small amount of moving space required is also helpful given the usual state of my living room (and it would seem by the size of yours/the restriction of the camera), and also, makes videos on youtube easier to follow along too!
    You're completely awesome :) and I still love watching/following along with your videos :)

      I'm so happy to hear you are having fun! Space restriction, as you can see, is a bit unfortunate, but nothing stops us from dancing! I will definitely do some more centre work and your idea sounds great! I'll get on working for the next video! Yey! Thanks for the input! Love it! Keep on dancing and having fun! Ciao Alessia

    I don't want to sound rude.

    • @lazydancertips
      @lazydancertips  7 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Well if you think about it we are doing class at home, it's kind of Lazy. Just a personal joke to myself really, calling a dancer Lazy when we perfectly know we are not as we work super hard each day. :) ps You are not being rude at all, it's a very fair question :) Thank yo for asking :D Ciao Alessia

      The title also works very well mentally, I think: on those days when I have no energy, motivation or time to do my normal training regime, I fool myself into thinking I'll do something easy and fun and "lazy", just to keep my body going, and in this sense, the name of the channel is perfect. It motivates me to move when I don't feel like doing anything too hard or lengthy.

    eek! I thought my balance was improving, but a long way to go! I saw one dance blog who said wobbling around wasn't really doing much for you, you should use the barre if you can't balance, push down on the barre, pull up to the top of your muscle tone, and hold there. This is how you get the strength to improve balance. What do you think, Alessia?

  • @SAntonoyannakie

    Are your battements in this video meant to be grand battements or jetés? They seem too high to be jetés and too low to be grand battements. I do them as grand battements anyway, and then try to keep the leg at least 90 degrees, for increased difficulty.

    • @lazydancertips
      @lazydancertips  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Stella go for a 45 degrees then when you have mastered that, take the extra challenge at 90 :D Love Alessia

      When I started been serious about dancing, around 12 yo, I used to train mon-fri 3- 6 hours a day. Then when I moved to NZ school of Dance and ENB school we trained every day, saturday included from 8.30 am till 5.30. In a company we start with class in the morning then rehears all day untill 6. It's a tough life but if this is what you want to do you must be prepared to work hard :) I wish you all the best and never give up! Love Alessia

      Same here. For me I think it's because my turn-out is not big and my pelvis is very narrow, so working from a very open position gives more space for my hips to work than from 1st or 5th. I think this is the reason why males have more pirouettes from 2nd position in ballet compared to females, and I most definitely don't have a female body type!
