    That’s the second review I’ve seen with really average groups

      They are really average shooters, just slinging shots.

    I have the exact rifle. I installed the Timney trigger and reduced the trigger pull to just shy of 2 lbs tigger pull. and it tighten up. my groups.some. the Timney trigger breaks like ice, with zero travel and creep. well worth the extra money. I loaded up some lapua brass with 65 gr Sierra gamekings, and Nosler 60 gr partition bullets with Remington 7 1/2 primers and benchmark powder. Sierra 65 gr were 3/4 inch group, and the Nosler partition were 1 1/2 inch. for Florida hunting it covers all bases. I have taken some real nice bucks with the Sierra 65 gr bullet with the 223 rem.

    I had similar results out my Gen II 223. I took the stock off and found some of the Splatter Paint on the V-Block. I cleaned it off and then cleaned up the barrel channel really good. Adjusted the trigger down to 3 pounds and made sure the stock was torqued. Then took off the scope rail, cleaned the mounting surface and screws/ holes and applied some blue loctight. Recounted the scope and re-torqued the mounts. Cleaned barrel reallyfood.
    Now its shootings much better. It just loves Honardy 75 gr BTHP and Black 62gr. Both are averaging around .65 to .80. It'll even shoot Tula 75gr right at 1.5.
    I have a Mcarbo trigger spring, just waiting to install it.

    interesting. I have a 6.5cm and saw a 308 in the gun shop. neither had the set screw nor the spring for the trigger adjust. they are just empty. both were 3.5# pull out of the box. Don't know if other calibers come with the spring and screw.

    Just got my gen2 today in 6.5grendel exactly like yours. Groups are sub par 1.5in to 2in. Last round hold open is junk. I load an empty case first then live rounds on top. Im tearing it down to the basics, re torque stock, scope base with locktite. Future thing will be budget chasis and steel 20moa base. I think its got .75moa in, just needs more break in and better fit and finish. Its a budget deer/hog gun. My boy will slay with it😂😂😂

    Not sure about gen 2, but i know for a fact that the stock on the gen one with a bipod will destroy accuracy tests. Flimsy material puts pressure on the barrel.

    Stiff bolt after the shot is because it's a cock on open design so it's going to be stiffer than on close.

    Theyre supposed to be only giving a 20inch bbl on standard long actions and magnums. Why the hell would you want a .270 that performs like a 6.8spc. I hate this short barrel crap. Ot otherwise would be ok.

    • @NTXoutdoors
      @NTXoutdoors  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree. I’d like to see them in a 24 inch.

      I seen alot of 20inch 6.5prc's😂 They just bought a gun that shoots boutique creedmoor ammo😂 and getting needmoor velocity

      Because people are putting suppressors on them and don't want to walk around with a 30+" barrel setup. Buy what you like, and don't worry about everyone else.

    Do you know if 556 can shoot out of it. I think I heard it's not recommended

    • @NTXoutdoors
      @NTXoutdoors  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. Chambered for .223 only. 5.56 can cause pressure issues.

    I bought this gun several weeks ago and it took several trips to the range to determine the best ammo it likes. For me, the 62 grain Federal FMJ gave me the best groups followed by 64 grain. This is not the most accurate rifle Ruger has turned out. Am disappointed in Ruger’s performance and accuracy with this rifle.

    • @NTXoutdoors
      @NTXoutdoors  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ll try that one out. I feel like both me and the rifle can do better than the groups I got on camera. Shooting it some more I’m getting MOA with match ammo so I’m happy.

    note to self, don't recommend this rifle to friends looking for a 223. Those groups were average. the other cal's of gen 2 rugers seem to be shooting better.

    I bought the same rifle. Ran just about every type of match ammo known to man and grouped like shit. I ended up sending it back to ruger for repairs and it still shoots like a total dumpster fire. I'm done with ruger!

      I would have checked scope mounts first before I blamed the rifle. Most times it's the loose nut behind the trigger that's the problem.

    To get better accuracy you have to have your own load of ammo not factory ammo 🤦‍♂️
