Great video!!! I would love to see your method of using the machine since you don't have water at your barn...we have water but not hot water and I did try the machine but felt it was more work and I could hand milk quicker. Someday I plan to put a laundry tub in and that might make it easier but for now its hand milking for me. 😉
I honestly cannot imagine hand milking how many does you have lol. Though, I suppose when I am further away from having a toddler (or hopefully a toddler and an infant at some point in the future ha), it will seem less crazy of an idea. :D I have a video I've already shot that I'm working on editing now - it'll show my setup and my milking/cleaning routine with everything I mentioned.
@@FableHillFarm at one point this year I was milking 8 morning and night. That didn't really last long because Dolly wasn't good on the stand and I dried some girls early just because it was needed. I can milk them out in 3-5 min each usually so I'm pretty fast! Lol!! It definitely helps when the kiddos are older because they can be doing other things (water/feed/hay/minerals) while I milk away ♥️
Great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. May I ask…how do you wash the cheesecloth after using it to strain? I plan to use it as well instead of paper filters.
Hi there. Thanks very much for watching. I wash my cheesecloth in the washing machine with my whites and I will wash with laundry soap (I personally use a plant based, unscented soap) and then typically white vinegar or you could use a little bleach. I always set my washer for a second rinse cycle if there is bleach in it. I would say that I probably add 1 c. of vinegar to the wash with cheesecloth in there.
Hello, I am new to goats milk. I just bought my first gallon yesterday. Before I bought, I never read up on it. I have severe anxiety. So you imagine, when I read all the possible insights to it. I was overwhelmed. I tried about ¼of a cup, very cold. After drinking, I got a metallic taste I believe. I became very concerned. Still some fat left on top. What should I be concerned with. Can I freeze it, use for biscuits. I do not want to waste. It. I did not ask about pasteurization, seeing she has a farm with tons of goats, cow, ect. Should I ask, what should I do. Any advice is appreciated. Tysvm
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Nice video! This is our first year on test and I’m finding i need to be more mindful about their feed. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching! My first year on test also. How many does are you milking?
Hello! Excellent video. I cannot find a 1qt stainless steel pail anywhere. Any suggestions?
Not sure if anyone had mentioned this or if you realize it. I see you showed low splash bleach which does NOT disinfect!

What's the best thing to feed a Nigerian dwarf doe in milk?
