- Mocking Up The '40 Rear End and Some Old Yankee Speed Co Goodies!
This video I get the '40 rear end mocked up in the frame along with the Old Yankee Speed Co spring over mounts and reverse eye main leaf, links below! I also mock up a block and transmission for future videos!

When I disassble and assemble springs I clamp the springs remove the center bolt and replace it with threaded rod. Then tighten the threaded rod, remove the clamps and unscrew the rod. Reverse the process to assemble the springs. 👍
Nice to see there's young men interested in building hot rods. You're doing good - keep 'er goin'.
Thanks for the good words! Hope you’ll continue watching!
WOW! Coming along nicely!
I've been watching these videos the past month awesome art one day you'll be helping me out when I start my rat rod
Glad to help!
Feel free to make the videos longer. Seems like we're just getting started and the video stops. I'm enjoying it.
I’d love to make them longer but the statistics show that they don’t perform as good as the 15-20 minute videos. Sorry man I have to do what works best at the moment. Thanks for watching and enjoying the content. I really put a lot of time into the videos!
Has that frame seemed fairly flexible as you’ve moved it around? The old Model A frames survived driving on rough roads because rivets allow movement (unlike a weld which would crack). Curious if, when you modify the back end, you’re going convert it from a “riveted/flexible” frame to a “fully welded/stiff” frame. You’re doing great work, keep it coming!
Great video, ALWAYS measure once and CUT twice, or something like that..!
Something like that hahahaha
Those Yankee Speed spring overmounts are great. Those holes for running the brake lines into the wheel cylinders is "Genius"!! The stock Model A perch is right in the way there. It can be carefully ground but it very slow and tedius since you don't want to remove any extra material there. How does the 40 rear end gear ratio compare with the Model A?? I'm going to assume the A is a much lower ratio since it only had 40 HP to move it around!!
First time I’ve seen those Flathead block dollies. Why didn’t I think of that? Have you tried rolling around a “fully loaded” engine on those?
Oh yeah works just as good! Look up stumpys fab works, I think he made them
That is correct and they are 15 or so inches on the stand motor mounts on the stand as well as in my roadster so theyre ideal for mock up and rolling around the shop etc as you mentioned.
@@Jeremy_Jalopies I’ll have to check on the 15 inch thing but you can bolt the motor into the chassis with the stand still attached so you can take the motor in and out without taking the stand off
Jegs two piece storage stand .
Do have any pictures of finished cars? Painted? Where is the five window coupe?
I never take customer cars that far, and my personal cars never get finished. So no haha
Evening Travis, for curiosity's sake, I started thumbing through your videos, is that a pickup firewall hanging on your back wall? On my 30 A Coupe using the Olds motor the stock firewall won't work, I can either make one or find a pickup firewall??
firewalls dont change from passenger car to pickup. that is a 32 ford firewall. itll fit but theres some fab to do. you could flip your firewall inside out.... ive seen that before
