This was so wonderful to watch. I love paper crafting, I so loved sewing. I haven't done any sewing in about 7 years. I had to get my machine fixed. So I will be making some of these baskets. I made all the guys ties and cummerbund in my 2nd , and made my daughter's gown for my wedding. and a gown for her father's wedding , she was a bridemaid.
Deanna is so talented with such a variety of craft and sewing ideas. I made over 25 cell phone purses following her tutorial. She is down to earth. Love that she mentioned her sisters.
I love this so much. I do not know how to sew but, three years ago I was gifted a sewing machine and all I ever made were face masks and I donated them. Thank you for inspiring me to put my machine to good use. You are so sweet , talented and very generous for taking the time to show the You Tube craft community how to make these. I hope you sell out of all your craft goodies at your craft show. You definitely put a smile on my face.
I have been sewing since my mother started teaching me at four years old. I am 61 now and still learning. It's a hobby that can continue to grow with you. Don't be afraid to mess up. I am my own worst critic, nothing is ever perfect. Then I look at the junk in stores and my stuff is pretty good 😂.
Deana, thank you so much for the ideas, directions, and being so willing to share your stuff, I have been binging on your videos, you have given me so many ideas
This is a great tutorial! The only thing I would change is instead of putting the opening to turn it inside out on the side put it on the top to save time. You’re going to do a topstitch on there anyway, to make the seam not as visible when it’s if it’s reversible
Thank you for this video! Your instructions were very clear without a lot of repetition or time wasting. I am inspired to make a bunch of these for my family. Thank you!
Needed to add another comment....wanted you to know I have made 4 of these in the past couple of days! Made several mistakes along the way, but they were part of the learning process. Made mine 10x12. I have never made ANY bags before, and I just really enjoyed making these! They are simple - not a single gather, zipper, or dart! Unlike a quilt, they take little space. They offer endless color and pattern combinations, which keeps it fresh. The best part is using up some of the fabrics in my stash! Thank you so much for this tutorial-I'm having a blast!
@@vickiemcdowell3642 If you see below, I asked the OP and she said $15-18. Based on my (new, somewhat limited) knowledge, I think that is right. I am charging $15. I have some really cute remnants that will cost me zero to use; I went to Joann's yesterday and bought some extra cuts to coordinate with fabric that I already had. One-third of a yard (each, of 2 different fabrics) is all you need, so it can be relatively inexpensive depending on the price of fabric you choose. The most expensive part was the interfacing-bought a bunch at 50% off yesterday. It is pricey! I have learned I can make 3 bags from 2 yards of interfacing (Pellon comes 20 inches wide, so it is perfect for 2 ten-inch bags to be cut out of it.) My final cost for one bag is somewhere between $4 and $6. Hope all this detail helps and isn't more confusing!
I'm not a fan of the Grinch but must say the fabric is adorable. And the striped interior is perfect. Good job! I love making bags....large and small. Such fun. I enjoyed your video very much. Thank you!⛄❄🎄🎁
So darling! I’m going to a quilt retreat with 8 girls and this is the perfect little gift I’m going to fill with candy and treats for each girl to have by their tables. Thank you for this video 🎉❤
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been watching your channel for about two years now since discovering you… and you’re a talented lady. I’m definitely making these bags for Christmas gifts filled with goodies for my grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Omg i want to make these bags soooo bad, but i dont have a sewing machine anymore. I sewed years ago and this would be pretty easy. And i just loooove grinch anything. Last year i changed my tree to a grinch theme. I usually try not to watch your sewing videos cuz it makes me want a sewing machine again lol. Sorry. TFS.
What a great way to use layer cakes (10x10 coordinating fabrics, sold in packages of 40 or 42) and scraps for the handles!! I love these! ❤❤ Thanks, Deanna!
Such a great idea and size. These are so sweet and look so simple. I have 2 weeks of school left, and then I will be able to get my craft on, lol. I'm so excited. Tyfs. Hugs
These are super cute. I am not good at sewing, unfortunately. These bags would be awesome for any holiday to put little gifts in, and it would be a gift in itself 😊 thank you.
Love that you are so thorough! I love making totes of all sizes. Something occurred to me recently, so I'll mention it now. I "collect" all my sewing waste suc as in pins, needles, blades. I recycle plastic jars as a container it put it all in, then on hazard waste collection day, I drop it off. Makes me feel good that my used needles, pins, blades won't end up in the landfill - hopefully!!
Deanna, I have followed your channel for years, and this is the cutest project I've ever seen, and I'm going to make one for my granddaughter. You are soooo talented. Thank you for going step by step. As you have made it look so easy ❤
OMG, I am such a Grinch fanatic! So happy you picked that fabric to make this tutorial. How fun is that? Awesome tote and great idea for your craft fair!! Hugs 🦋❤️🦋❤️
I also was gifted a sewing machine. Sadly, have not used it much, but you made that look fairly easy. I am most definitely going to try this. Thank you for the inspiration!
I haven't really sewed in over forty years other than hems and buttons, in high school I made all my clothes. You make it look so easy again. I love your videos they are so easy to follow.
Just found your video and enjoyed it so, so much. Thank you. I did subscribe so I can see what other wonderful things you come up with. I love to sew and craft as well. God Bless and keep up the great work.💕
Thank you so much Deanna❤ I just finished my bag and it came out really great! I haven't really sewn anything in years. I just use my machine for mending. You made it easy and I'm so glad you showed the entire process. I'll be making more things now because you really inspired me.
Thank you for this tutorial, I missed this one somehow, I’ve come from watching you pack them. I will give these ago, thank you for taking the time to explain how to make these I haven’t made one before, but you done such a fantastic job in your tutorial I feel confident enough to try it. Thank you again you are amazing, I am very much a fan of all you do. ❤🎄🎅🏼☃️
I watched this whole thing through and it seems super easy. I saved it to work on later :) I finally was able to sew a little bit last week in a class I took and we made Harry Potter tote bags. Can’t wait to try this! TFS, Deanna 💕🌸🩷
QUESTION on pricing please: Deanna, I love the idea that I can use up my random stash of quilting cotton prints with this design! I just made one up with 2 inner pockets across the entire width, placed at 2.5" up from the cut bottom edges. One is divided for smaller items, the other is full sized. Then I attached a loose D. Ring strap that goes over the top between the handles, with a narrow 12" scrap sewn ito a tie on the center front. Also, I cut a pair that started with a 10×12" cut. SO, as a Stand-alone or Basic crochet/ embroidery tote, how should I begin toprice these? I'm building inventory for a 9 day event at the County Fair, and am getting so much inspiration from you!!! Thanks so much for the idea, and your reply!❤ Karen
Whenever I make bags, I leave the bottom corner triangle in (vs cutting the square out) for two reasons. The first is that if for whatever reason a thread breaks, you don't have a hole in the corner of the bag. Secondly it gives a little more stability to the bottom of the bag, especially if you're putting a bottom in it.
Thank you for the step-by-step instruction. I do appreciate it.
The red and white stripes look fabulous with the Grinch fabric!!
So adorable.

Cute idea for Christmas gift for anyone, any age!
I think so too!
QUESTION on pricing please:
Deanna, I love the idea that I can use up my random stash of quilting cotton prints with this design!
SO, as a Stand-alone or

Oh my goodness Dee and I love the grinch tote going to try this I would add some Velcro so it can be closed as a little girls purse afterwards

The Grinch tote is adorable! ❤
I need a gift for a 2 year old bib sister and this will be perfect with a small crochet animal in it.
Awesome
