  • Well Hello There!
I thought I would share a few tanks I have that serve a specific purpose. Sometimes you don't need a great aquascape, you just need it to serve a purpose.

I would be absolutely beside myself if I could scape a tank as well as your “plant storage” tank! I have a 20 gallon that I just let grow wild. I’m so proud of that trash tank!😂🤣🤭

You’re so kind! There’s something to be said about just letting your plants do their thing. 😊

Ive given up on ALL my tanks as far as the scaping goes 😂 Your "No Puepose" / "Throw away" scapes are glorious compared to my efforts.

tank together if you like it or not. 🤪

@@thesmallscape I would love that! Maybe go for a ride, then swing by the Whip's Den and scape a tank, then go back out for a ride, and then finish up by breaking some bread together. We can make a day of it 😉
I'll shoot Jason a picture tonight of my "display" tank. It's so sad LOL
The tannins coming off the new driftwood is freaking insane. The water is so brown the water looks red... or I haven't figured out this new Hygger planted light yet and the light actually IS red. The fake plants, because that's all I can grow, are the icing on the cake.
      Pathetic 😆

What is in my head and how my tank scape turns out are completely different!! I am crummy at scaping! I comfort myself by knowing my fish are happy and healthy. Gina

Yeah, I just did this with a scape I absolutely could. not. make. work. I had an idea I loved, but never got past trying to finish the hardscape. It sat for a couple of months, just a sad glass box with nothing but sand, rocks, and a jumble of spider wood. Then I spent several hours one evening trying to arrange it to my liking before throwing in the towel. It's now living its best life...as a terrarium. 😆

Definitely. I have a ten gallon that I call "The Algea Farm." Its only purpose is to salvage my yellow neocaridina colony.

Your scapes always look great. I am not talented in doing scapes. I try but they always looks like a hodgepodge of plants with rocks. Thank you Joanna My tanks serve a purpose for my fish’s sake. Lol

The one I have going now is meant to grow out the plants I have so I can take cuttings for the next, as well as growing out my baby betta who is going in the next tank as well. I started growing months ago, and it's been doing so well! I love watching it's progress.

Best anubia-holding tank ever! Well done! I have Jungle Val growing in my 50G-goldfish tank to fight algae, otherwise it’s a plain-Jane tank. My 90G is the one I LOVE, but none of these are set-it-and-forget-it projects. The joy of live plants is you must constantly work on them, always have opportunity to improve or change, and there’s always a new challenge a few months away.
My current challenge: neocaridinia breeding like cockroaches! I even found a colony in my canister-filter from prior to putting a sponge over the intake. I want SOME neos, but maybe not HUNDREDS.
It’s a nano-fish community w/ 5 nano-tetras, 5 old-male guppies, 4 SAEs, 1 bristlenose. The first set will eat shrimplettes if they catch them (they’re all quite fat & I only feed twice a week), so this weekend I pulled 11 White Clouds from QT to see if they can be a population-check.

    I want to go Anubias plant-shopping from your tank !!! 🌿 😊
My favorite is the Anubias Barteri because it gets so tall and the fish just love the large leaves. It works great in a deeper tank. I had to move mine from a 10g to a 20g tall and now that has grown almost too large for it! I love the mini buce in a small scape to scale as well. What type of black substrate are you using in that 3 1/2g tank? What filter do you like for it and the rummy nose?
I'm getting some Rummy nose for my 55 Angel planted tank. I want a nice school of them.
I will probably source them a few areas and slowly build the school up.
I like your video. It's great having holding tanks for various plants that you can scape other projects with right on hand. Then you have on-the-fly creative options!! Blessings, Monica

Great video! I think your “job” tanks look great! My tanks evolve so much from year to year. I let plants dictate what is happening because I’m allowing them to grow or fighting algae. Right now I have val growing to the front of my 20gal. I’d like as much as possible in there right now so I’ll allow it. Etc, etc. I hope to see the stream tonight in your new space! 🤞🏻 How exciting!! 😃

My Val is doing GREAT at the front of my 90G where the sub is barely an inch deep; the plants are about 16” tall! But in the back, same Val barely over 2”.
I tried replanting from front to back but the Val wouldn’t grow still. I recently topped-off the substrate in the back (gravel and some sort of plant-sub, already 3” deep) w/ PLAY SAND & then packed it w/ Aauarium Co-Op root tabs and replaced my $300-light a/ new Fluval 3.0. SOMEthing in all that is finally triggering growth in the back.
      Love/hate with the valisneria.

I got a 14 gallon cube island scape that is getting overun by xmas moss. Its ruining the clean look that I'm going for, but cant stomach trimming it after seeing all the baby platys and shrimp living amongst it

    Hi
I have got a small aquarium 32x32x32 for my daughter and she wants to scape it. It will be a low tech tank. I will use a dennerle Scaper’s soil but no co2. This is a tank with a lamp 20vol-12 watt. I was planning to plant sagittaria subulata because i would love to get a carpet. What i have seen on youtube i can trim this plant. So in the front i wanted to trim it shorter and in the back keep it long.
We also have a wood and i’ve always wanted a christmas moss on it. And now the question. Do you think that with that soil and that light those plants will grow? Or you think i should choose some other plants? Thank you for any advice and greetings from the Netherlands

I'm starting a corner tank... I keep thinking about how to scape it... my brain hurts... ya all are going to be sick of hearing about the corner tank 😂😂😂 it's going to take me forever to set up, especially having to wait for my hubby to help move it.
