Good video. I made many flat chains from Steve's pattern but I too have used it to create compound cut key chains. I find using the space key to lengthen one side when there are uneven number of letters is helpful. One suggestion I have is to use 2.5 or 3 mm bead chain instead of solid rings to prevent the torque from the ring from breaking the eye. Keep up the good work.

Here's a shot at that wood blank you asked about. Could it be basswood? Thanks for sharing this video

Great video, I got Steve's program to make these, what do you charge per keychain?

    • @ArtisanPirate

I base my prices on how many letters, material, and how soon a keychain needs to be done

I bought 1 1/4 block strips . How do you know how far apart to put the words on each side is there a method to it

It really needs to be 1 inch square strips, I'd center as best you can

Thanks for the link to Steve's program. You do a great job of explaining as you go so that really helps us beginners out.
Do you just print two patterns and them center them on both sides??

Thank You! And yes, 2 of the pattern are required

Very cool! How much do you typically charge? Might make some and want an idea, thanks.

It depends, I usually charge 15 a piece for a single name keychain and 2 for 25. But, if someone needed like 10 keychains at once, I'd try to cut them a deal
