She is really beautiful, no question about it. I find myself struggling these days on how to compliment any person on her/his looks and/or talent. Seems anything may backfire while all you try to do is be nice to someone else. Crazy world this is turning into. But the simple fact remains: talented and gorgeous... some people have it all!
Bach didn't write out a separate part for the harpsichord. In the composer's manuscript, the violone and harpsichord play the same line on the same staff; the violone automatically transposes the written notes down an 8ve. The role of the harpsichord is merely accompaniment; it's not meant to stand out as it does in this recording.
Bach. Bravissimi
Fascinating to see how the harpsichord rushed the tempo at one point but then u saw her looking closely at the violin guy and then they were dead on. The brain is incredible
Superb performance.👌👌👍 and. you hear the bass really good. I myself like that. 3rd movement could be tiny bit faster but thats my taste. All in all super!!
Musicians are Superior. Bach brought to Life. Balanced Superbly. Does anyone know who these Brilliant Musicians can be found. We would love to Donate. Thank you.
Superb performance. Transparent, clear, hearing and loving every single note - as it should be. So glad they stay away from the outrageous tempos you hear so often, which in my humble view are totally unrealistic and not like anything the great JSB ever intended. Truly happy to have discovered the KCO on TH-cam. I've subscribed and will look out for you guys. All the best!
The recording/mix on this live performance is astounding, and this is one of the best performances online! I would love an in depth video about the micing process alone. Especially fond of the violinist tone at 1:57
I've seen this piece both performed live, and I've listened to seven or eight different recordings. This interpretation is by far the best, and the quality of the recording is spectacular. Love the fact that the harpsichord is not lost among the other instruments. I've shared the video and the immediate response is "who is this and where do they play?"
I couldn't agree more! It's truly magical. I agree about the Harpsichord, with stunning bass notes in the 1st octave brought truly to life. The moving allegro is wonderful in the 2nd movement - and the swapping lead changes was so clever, and effortless. They are a truly magical chamber orchestra. And I really adore the way that they play without a conductor, which I read was Steve & David's idea from the start, in order to bring the music to life more vividly. David knows what he's talking about, when you consider his background in music technology, and family connections to music technology, and David's brainchild, music anesthesia, which is just genius.
@@RB747domme What you refer to as "the moving allegro ... in the 2nd movement" is actually the 3rd movement. As Kapellmeister (1717-1723) to the Prince of Anhalt-Koethen, when Bach performed this concerto he would have led the trio of violas and conducted the ensemble with nods and gestures.
The "appearance of the harpsichord sounding and leading the music" is a distortion created by the audio engineering. The harpsichord is not supposed to lead; it's supposed to accompany.
Tempo of the 3rd movement is absoulely perfect - I hear so many recorded versions where it is hyper-fast, rushed, and the beauty of the separate voices is lost. Well done, excellent performance!
Thank you, thank you, Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, thank you!!! Your rendition is very, very beautiful. I've heard many interpretations and have about a dozen in my modest home collection, including world top known performers. I have nothing but praise and admiration for you. And you have a new subscriber.
All of your performance that I have seen so far have been fabulous. I only regret living in the wrong part of the state to be able to attend your concerts in person.
Allegro in the baroque era was more of a character indication than a pure tempo indication. So it didn't have to affect the tempo too much, maybe just changed from the default Andante (Tempo Ordinario) to a fast Andante.
no offense intended. as an old guy paying attention for over 70 years, I much prefer period music played on period instruments, especially when written before 1750. modern instruments just aren't quite the same.
I fully agree. Period instruments' pitch is sweeter than these ones modern lutiers have been building. Moreover, to my ears, the effect of their ensemble sounds "seamless" while modern suites sound a bit harsh. With all due respect to this solid video's production.
Nice. But I prefer the more rythmical swinging, adventurousplayful and lively performance of Musica Antiqua Köln. Here again the too polished, distinguised and classical approach.
@@RootBeerFlavored Having performed this work many times and having heard many live performances of this work, I can assure you that the balance is off.
Yes, I can certainly hear more detail. And a slightly slower pace. Yet the piece still flys quickly in all directions, but then returns to a singular voice. Tremendous! 🇮🇱✡️✝️🇨🇦🇻🇦💪🌪️⚡⚔️🔥🙏👃😘🏴
Everyone is really above standard.
But the harpsichord beautiful lady deserves a special note of appreciation.
Beauty playing Beauty.

1000% agree
Bach for all! I just wish more of our fellow Americans had the upbringing and education to be able to appreciate this wonderful music.
A lifetime is not enough for the music of Johann Sebastian Bach!!!
At long last, we have the pleasure of experiencing the resplendent sonority of the harpsichord! A truly exquisite performance! Bravo!!

Bach still rockin' in 2024
And always will!

Great performance of this third Brandenburg concerto 😊
Beautiful performance! I love Bach's Brandenburg Concertos and this performance is excellent.

It absolutely boggles my mind thinking that this incredibly beautiful music was written by one man, one genius. ❤
And as an audition piece!
A++ for the sound engineers too, outstanding harpsichord relevance!
Thanks very much!
❤2024 This is Lovely and well played ❤ SOUND FLAWLESS 🎉
Thanks!
It always fascinates me when reminded that Brandenburg concertos were de facto Bach's auditions!

I like the appearance of the harpsichordist...

That is true. I just wanted to say that I liked the orchestra with a clear sound of harpsichord.

Why are you capitalizing godliness? And where did you read that Bach said that?

Irene Kim … her playing is flawless!

Accurately played... no interest in the audience whatsoever?

The balance between the harpsichord and strings is unrealistic. Too much harpsichord.
