The Templeton family owned a world-famous carpet manufacturing firm called James Templeton & Co.
They supplied all the carpets on the RMS Titanic, RMS Queen Mary, and many other liners, as well as all the carpets in Balmoral Castle, some in Buckingham Palace, and I'm even informed they supplied some to the White House!
The carpets were manufactured in Glasgow, which is just east of Loch Long.
