Aye Joker, we'll be there in August to lay some flowers for mum too. She adored the castle and the view over to her favourite isle, Skye. She's in her own wee heaven❤❤
My husband and I were there in 2005. I have loved this castle for many years. It was wonderful to be there. We even sat behind the castle with a river view. We both cried!
What a fantastic video, I was there in February 1979 with my kids mother who has sadly died, we loved it there. We used to take photography groups of 20 or more later on in the years. In 1979 I can’t remember toilets there for the public or any rendered walls. The amazing thing either by accident or trust was the big room and a roaring fire, nobody to show us around and the class cabinet with around 70 to 100 rings and badges of the history you could pick up and look at that amazed us. I said to my partner “ wow it’s a good job we’re trust worthy people who love history and Scotland as not a soul around or camera’s back then. When ever I go back there which is usually once a year it always takes me back there to that day no matter what girl I take there with me to this day. Great memories for every. Thanks for sharing Ray K Liverpool UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.
Used to visit Eilean Donan Castle between 1990 to 1997 mist visiting the Castle and the area around it so took the Wife there in November 2021 now planning to go back soon
Lovely video, especially the outside drone shots! (something the individual can't get to see for themselves!!) Great job and wonderful narration by David!! This ex-pat (now living in NZ) longs to return one day.
I heard about an American sericeman serving in Iraq who was obviously unable to go with his wife and kids to Scotland on Holliday . Apparently he went onto the live cam and luckily enough his wife and kids were walking over the bridge to the castle at the time .The guy phoned them and they were able to wave etc to him etc via the live webcam.......funny old life at times this .
Hoping to visit one day. Missed it on my only Scotland trip back in 1981. Shame on me, as I am a McKenzie and would have found this castle both fascinating and meaningful.
Wow what a breathtaking location! Really amazing, these recordings were really successful! Greetings from Germany and stay healthy! You have a New subscriber 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just learned I'm related to John and Kenneth Mackenzie, by way of Thomas Weyman Williams, and the rabbit hole has led me here. Such great and rich history there is amongst the Highlands!
kandukonden kandukonden tamil movie song was shot here 23 years back. i searched for this location in youtube all these years and finally found it. very thrilled to find it.
We stayed in a beautiful AirBnB that was just across the bridge. We had an amazing view of the castle. It was a pleasure to wake up to it every day. Would love to go back.
Was there before COVID. New info, souvenir and tour store being built near the dock you can see in these videos. Great place. Be sure to thank the Colonel for allowing you in his home. The current owner does have a family and lives there when in the country.
I love the castles meant for giants and how there is extra floors to the castle buried beneath the earth from the last mud flood reset. Just amazing. Our smaller sized people definitely didn't build these with the tech we had with our horses and buggies 🤣🤣🤣
It's no folly, it was built as near to the original as possible on the original footprint using the same local stone, many of which were retrieved from excavation work during the rebuild.
i would do the fish catching and cook and drink the wiskey drunk then sleep.we like the scotland castel too and i buy the man skirt to wear sheep watching! 🤡
MY mothers ashes are scattered at the side of the castle She loved the location and i go there often to lay flowers RIP MUM

Gosh Scotland is a stunning place! And this is especially beautiful.

Okay, I need to come back! Also, as a professional voice-over artist, he did an outstanding job!

My 16x great grandfather Donald Gorm Macdonald 4th of Sleat died in 1546 trying to take that castle.
My 12th great grandfather killed him, but he also shortly died in the seige after
My ancestors from castillia Leon Spain laughed
My ancestors MacRae probably killed him 😂 as we defended the castle 🏰 for 3-4 centuries
Beautiful castel and vidéo
I decided to come here after seeing this screen shot on my computer when I woke up this morning. It took my breath away. Tyfs ♥

Great video with narration to promote UNESCO heritage site and most attractive castle in Scottish Highlands 🏴🏴💂
Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing. ❤
We've been there many times just for a stop off on our journey. But have never visited the castle
My family lived there at one time.
Mine too...i believe!
What came first the bridge or the castle?
Spain has plenty to see..some great adventures to be had. Intact Segovia is stunning but ruins are everywhere.
Tnks
The closest I'll get to it is my jigsaw puzzle 'Castle Eilean Doonan' as soon as I put it back together again😆
Nice castle mate

Does any of the original castle remain in the current structure?
Oh yes, especially if you know where to look.
@@Eileandonancastle1 so where is that..?
@@jbearmcdougall1646 my Scottish Castle was not blown up and rebuilt
The British blew it up so I imagine the original stones are in the water surrounding the castle 🏰

In this year of our lord 1536 bring victory to the Clan MacLeod!
I literally have always have had to be in a castle
I've been there a few times, but my brain can't get by the folly of this castle.. this being from the 1920's..
It’s older than that, it was just re-built after being left to rot a bit 🙂
It's no folly, it was built as near to the original as possible on the original footprint using the same local stone, many of which were retrieved from excavation work during the rebuild.
There can be only one.
