Congress no longer has to vote themselves a pay raise anymore. In 1994 during a lame duck session just before Thanksgiving, the democrats put a provision in the budget bill that made raises automatic for members of congress. The only way to stop an automatic increase in pay would be for both houses to vote against a raise and have it signed into law. Very underhanded of them.

You were employed. And chances are, too, that you had a car in your name. There is no help for those that honestly try to help themselves.
Before retirement, I employed many grown men. All high school 'graduates'. Many claimed they could not read, almost none could do fractions/oz/ml/etc. But I digress. They did one thing very well. They knew how to work the system.
I gave them workforce skills. Encouraged those capable to seek better employment when given the opportunity. I would do my best (within my business's ability) to give them more responsibility for better pay. One of two things often happened. (1) When their pay for the year reached a cerrtain level, they quit. They couldn't afford to lose their 'income tax in reverse' as I called it (Earned Income Credit is what Uncle Sam calls it). Or(2), they did not want the extra responsibility and pay. Didn't want the responsibility because it would entail being a supervisor to other employees. Didn' t want the extra pay ' cause then other benefits they were drawing would get cut.
This is the fallacy and problem of the current welfare system, imho. Those that try are penalized. Hell who wouldn't be tempted to work less and make just as much.
While I ranting....an FYI to anyone who has read this far. The bulk of the Farm Bill (~75%) goes to food programs (SNAP), etc. Of that 75%, 95% of that is SNAP (old Food Stamp program). So keep in mind, that only about 20% of the Farm Bill actually goes to anything remotely connected to farming.
And don't get me started on the unaffordability of 'Obama Care' for them. TO A MAN, they paid the penalty for opting out and did what they had been doing for health care. It cost them. It did not help them.

    • @airheadrica1
      @airheadrica1 ปีที่แล้ว

Has nothing to do with being white. I'm on social security 1300 month. I qualify for $23 a month. The tier has nothing to do with where you live, what state you live in it is the Same. Are you aware that that is what is in the balance?

That was your conclusion use your critical thinking skills the sobering reality, of 85 individuals owning as much as the entire poorer half of the human, global population combined, leads me to deduce, they're not emotionally "human". Whatever else the ruling elite may be, they're misanthropic, malignant narcissist, malthusian megalomaniacs, whose insatiable greed & utterly selfish lust for luxury & power, gets justified as a Darwinian Imperative & manifest destiny. They own the monetary system. They project guilt onto "losers", typical humans, who are denied their right to live free, thrive & cooperate, by their winner takes all reckoning. Humans are mammals, born naturally enthusiastic, curious & creative problem solvers, who could cheerfully follow their higher, empathic potential & noble ideals. But the ruling class are only interested in how ritualized heirarchy enslaves minds & harnesses amoral, dependent willingness, to blindly follow orders & do harm to others. Society is set up, to justify & excuse, the lowest common denominator of selfish opportunism, gloryfying ruthless exploitation, for the elite's exclusive benefit. Their hypocrisy is literally stunning. Our cognitive dissonance, between the superficial, manipulative lies, we're told, to placate us & the hideous realities we're confronted with, generates maximum cognitive dissonance. Most of the world's people are primally traumatized, from the moment we first recognize the unreconcilable dichotomy. We remain dissociated, in denial, with a powerful subconscious gatekeeper, preventing objective examination of a reality too horrifying to face. Most people live in a state of collective Stockholm Syndrome, defending & virtually worshipping their institutionalized captors & abusers. :/

    The Saturday Night Joke?
    IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT
We received about 2 inches of snow yesterday and
    8:00 am: I made a snowman.
8:10-A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman.
    8:15 - So, I made a snow woman.
8:17 - My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified women everywhere.
8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snowmen instead.
8:22 - The transgender man.. women...person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts.
8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and are not used to decorate snow figures.
8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white.
8:30 - I used food coloring to make one of the snow couple a different color and be more racially inclusive.
8:37 - Then accused of using a black face on the snowperson.
8:39 - The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be completely covered.
8:40 - The police arrived saying someone had been offended.
8:42 - The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role.
8:43 - The 'council on equality' officer arrived and threatened
    me with eviction.
8:45 - The TV news crew from ABC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snowwomen. I replied "Snowballs" and am now a sexist.
9:00 - I was on the news as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe, and sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather.
9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services.
9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding that I be arrested.
9:45 - The boss called and fired me because of the negative association with work that had been all over social media.
10:00 - I cry into my drink because all I wanted to do was build a snowman...
Moral: There ain't no moral to this story. It is what this world has become because of a bunch of snowflakes.

ALL people on WELFARE should have to work to get the money. Not a full time job but UP TO 20 hours a week. NO EXEPTIONS, other than being bound to a bed due to medical reasons. There are all sorts of people with all sorts of disabilities that work (for real documented jobs or under the table) and we ALL know someone that claims they cant work yet gets out and does things that a "disabled" person should not be able to. WELFARE is an ASSISTANCE (supported to be) when you are out of work and have EXHAUSTED your unemployment. Its yet another program that has been twisted and abused and need a MAJOR overhaul or completely done away with. All the people getting it would be forced to ACTUALLY work (plenty of jobs out there) or learn to live by their wits like our grand, great great-great and so on grandparents did.
