Here with yet another golden roadmap I’m still following the old one and almost done. I have learned a lot and my resume looks much better and I feel so confident.
Hi, I completed your Cyber Security GRC course and added it to my resume. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world. I do hold IBM and Google cyber security Certs, however, it's been hard to find a job since I am transitioning from a healthcare career. Most jobs require CompTIA + Certs, and I am planning to take the exam soon.
Hi E. Blake, I emailed you today because you are the first person to complete the course so I wanted to hear your thoughts! Since you’ve just completed the course, it’s a good time to update the CV and start applying to jobs every single day (even if they ask for comptia, apply anyway). With your healthcare background and your recently acquired GRC knowledge, you will be an asset. I strongly believe you are very close to reaching your goal!

OMG Its love at 1st sight(video) hey man did God send you!!?🥰🥰 I have gotten a glimpse of my old classical router and switch, firewall physical device world totally being de-fuking molished by the coming world of "NFV"(network function virtualization) where physical chassis will be going away and CSU/DSU, Router, Switch, Firewall, Proxy will all simply be software virtual machines running in a VM Host and now we will have to learn YAML and NETCONF to even interact with them and was thrown into a total life crisis so i am looking at a new ladder of cybersecurity and wondering "what if" and you spoke to that pain without knowing.😭😭😭
Thank you so much for your videos should be done by August next year with my undergrad in cyber security while also taking all the Try hack me and hack the box courses you have mentioned. Following your road map has been the best path to my future career.
I’d like to focus on CTI and mitre mapping/reporting because I enjoy writing and researching. I’ve been going down mitre database rabbit hole and binging reports it’s great way to learn attack concepts and mitigations but I feel like I have no hands on skills. Not sure where In industry I fit in.
Thanks for all your videos and giving us hope in life. Im 30 and decided to switch to pursue my career in cybersecurity. Would you recommend I should follow the exact guidelines that you have perfectly described?
Hey brother i am recently high school passout and want going to take bachelor of cybersecurity degree in swinburne university and i watch your almost all videos and it inspire me to do more ❤❤
@UnixGuy, Thank you for this video. I have 10 year experience as a database administrator and currently on a career break since last 2+ years. What are my possibilities of breaking into Cybersecurity?
I was senior soc analyst and am transitioning to network security engineer. Do you think it is a good move career wise, when trying to progress in cyber security? I have weak IT CV with only helpdesk > jr analyst> sr analyst and got here by self study mostly, so I was thinking hard skill role like this would be more beneficial for me. Still..second guessing my decision..
hey mate, If i were you I would stay at my soc analyst role, and gain certitications there. Network security engineer is not a ‘hard skill role’, it’s just a different fielf altogether. You can progress nicely within your SOC role by doing more projecrts and certs and getting exposure to different areas
@@UnixGuy I see.. dang, well it was offered to me as inter company move, since most of our soc team was dissolved (lost customer) and the market here is not that great, so that's also one of the reasons I'm considering. Finding a good soc is a bit of a challenge and lot of engineer position assume netsec infra administration as well, relocation is also not possible atm for me. So I thought I'd weather the storm in netsec and try to make most of it.
@@0RogueZero well then that's different, take it and learn as much as you can. Whatever job, no reason why you can't keep skilling! do this: th-cam.com/video/KvCcbF8DROQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nDNrmaXdrvdLRtDI
Really cool guide! I would like to see a similar video roadmap/recommend courses for pentesting/ethical hacker! Is there any plan to make a video about this?
@@UnixGuy That sounds great! I'm currently working in the NOC of a cybersecurity company, and I was recommended by my supervisor to try to transfer to the threat intelligence area. Talking to the people there, they recommended that I study OSINT, but I don't even know where to start! They also do a lot of automation with Python and other languages, which I am already familiar with. Thank you in advance.
Great video, thanks a lot. Been looking into application security and was wondering what your view of the CASE cert by ec Council is and whether it's worth doing?
hey mate, as explained in the video, Aws is very similar to azure so follow this and just do Aws cloud practitioner and aws solution architect then the security specialty
This is fantastic! I would really suggest that based on your experience, don’t you think, you should create a course that people can buy? A course that will encompass all these steps in order to become an excellent cybersecurity engineer? Thank you
@@UnixGuy I have an idea for something like Pre-Bootcamp Bootcamp. Let's say you have a very selective paid training bootcamp, but they only accept like 1% of applicants. Some of the others who didn't make the cut could still have a career, you prep them for 4 weeks, (charge tuition) then run them through the regular bootcamp. This idea needs work, but you see what I'm saying. You expand the pipeline if you have the quality issue solved. I smell money.
Thank you for your guidance. I have a question regarding my current enrollment in the course 'Introduction to IT and Cybersecurity' offered by Cybrary. This course covers the basics of networking, Linux, Windows commands, cryptography, and Python scripting. Do i need to do google cert also? What would you recommend?
Would love to see a video on your favorite feeder roles for Security if your interested and what they do/what you think it would be like to work in said role
Thank you for making these videos, they are most excellent! Through you I have found out about BTL1 and I'm now half way through the course. My question is, do you have any experience or opinion on the BTL2?

OMG Its love at 1st sight(video) hey man did God send you!!?🥰🥰 I have gotten a glimpse of my old classical router and switch, firewall physical device world totally being de-fuking molished by the coming world of "NFV"(network function virtualization) where physical chassis will be going away and CSU/DSU, Router, Switch, Firewall, Proxy will all simply be software virtual machines running in a VM Host and now we will have to learn YAML and NETCONF to even interact with them and was thrown into a total life crisis so i am looking at a new ladder of cybersecurity and wondering "what if" and you spoke to that pain without knowing.😭😭😭
glad you found the video, it’s a sign and now you have a concrete plan to follow :)
Thank you so much for your videos should be done by August next year with my undergrad in cyber security while also taking all the Try hack me and hack the box courses you have mentioned. Following your road map has been the best path to my future career.
good luck!
This is part of what a cyber analyst does:

Thanks for all your videos and giving us hope in life. Im 30 and decided to switch to pursue my career in cybersecurity. Would you recommend I should follow the exact guidelines that you have perfectly described?
hey mate, yes follow the plan as it is and you will get to your goal!
@@UnixGuy Thank you so much!
You are Amazing ❤

Hey brother i am recently high school passout and want going to take bachelor of cybersecurity degree in swinburne university and i watch your almost all videos and it inspire me to do more ❤❤
so glad to hear that! Swinburne is really good for cybersecurity, good luck 👏🏻
Hey, amazing video as always. Could we please get an updated version for "FASTEST way to become a ethical hacker"
this is an up today version, posted two months ago, nothing have changed since then:

@UnixGuy, Thank you for this video. I have 10 year experience as a database administrator and currently on a career break since last 2+ years. What are my possibilities of breaking into Cybersecurity?
hey mate, your database experience will definitely come in handy, specially if you choose application security or automation
@@UnixGuy Thank you so much. I deeply appreciate you taking time to answer all our questions and comments. Kudos to you.
Still..second guessing my decision..
hey mate,
If i were you I would stay at my soc analyst role, and gain certitications there.
Whatever job, no reason why you can't keep skilling! do this:

Really cool guide! I would like to see a similar video roadmap/recommend courses for pentesting/ethical hacker! Is there any plan to make a video about this?
made one four months ago 😜

Nice video! I guess the path for me is an automation engineer. But i missed an OSINT path. Do you have any recomendations?
I’ll make an osint video in the future :)
OSINT is a small subset of threat intelligence, follow this roadmap as it has everything you need:

@@UnixGuy Thanks a Lot
Is an m2 MacBook Air 8gb ram 512gb 15 inch a good laptop to start the journey?
its fine
Great video, thanks a lot. Been looking into application security and was wondering what your view of the CASE cert by ec Council is and whether it's worth doing?
I believe the certs that I recommended will get you to your goal in the fastest and cheapest way possible :)
Do RED and BLUE team considered a subset of cybersecurity engineering?
no
Awesome! Does the "Infosec: Python for Cybersecurity Specialization" courses are only on Linux or Windows or both?
It should work for both but please cross check the course before doing it
@@UnixGuy Thank you!
I am really into this, and will try my best to go through the pathway. My only concern is the bearing costs of all this coursera courses.
we all had to work, save up, and pay. training isn’t free
Hey is it possible you can do a AWS version? I can't find any other TH-camr who explains things as easily as you do, thank you!
hey mate, as explained in the video, Aws is very similar to azure so follow this and just do Aws cloud practitioner and aws solution architect then the security specialty
This is fantastic! I would really suggest that based on your experience, don’t you think, you should create a course that people can buy? A course that will encompass all these steps in order to become an excellent cybersecurity engineer? Thank you
thanks mate! I may or may not be working on something like this 🤫 but it wont be about engineering, it’ll be about a different topic
@@UnixGuy great. I just found out about your channel and I am in love with your contents. Please, keep it up 👍🏿
@@UnixGuy I have an idea for something like Pre-Bootcamp Bootcamp.
Unixguy lets goo!!!

Thank you for your guidance. I have a question regarding my current enrollment in the course 'Introduction to IT and Cybersecurity' offered by Cybrary. This course covers the basics of networking, Linux, Windows commands, cryptography, and Python scripting. Do i need to do google cert also? What would you recommend?
you probably can, it honestly all depends on the quality of the cybrary course, im not familiar with their offering
Good video fren.
Really good one.
👍
Would love to see a video on your favorite feeder roles for Security if your interested and what they do/what you think it would be like to work in said role
Already made a video about it 😉

Thank you for making these videos, they are most excellent! Through you I have found out about BTL1 and I'm now half way through the course. My question is, do you have any experience or opinion on the BTL2?
yes BTL2 is great :)
@@UnixGuy Maybe a future video?
