I remember when I first saw this character, and I always thought he could have been an awesome hero to do stories about. Like he doesn't have super strength or speed so his fights would all have to be strategically placing spots around so that he could trap the villains, and when he does his gritty reboot he can close the spots before someone goes all the way through.
I honestly appreciate the character growth, Miles went from wanting to be just like Spiderman, to wanting to do his own thing and not be like the others

This movie is the dream of being an animator is. I just finished watching the movie with my friends and as people who go to an art school, we have never felt more inspired. The art styles, the colours, the music, and let alone the plot??? That was amazing and truely an art piece.

WOW! Miles is all grown now. In the first movie, he needed his father's guidance, now his mom. This is DOPE! Love to see animators get their respect! People have no idea how much work it takes to make animations.
just got out from the cinema and this film has blown my mind entirely. i was a bit afraid that the sequel won’t be just as magnificent as the first part, but man i’ve never been so happy to be so deeply wrong. in every way possible - visually, emotionally, and dramatically, - it feels like a masterpiece. it’s not just something i’ve always wanted to see on a screen as an artist myself, it’s way, way more
It was so good- better than I could ever imagine. It never got boring in any part of the movie, it just kept going and going like it was never going to stop. I loved every part of it and cannot wait for part 2. SPIDER GANG 😄🤙

A good line, and I admire his effort, but those often who run down the road to avoid their destiny often meet it sooner. I fear that Miles' resistance towards the idea of making sacrifices to be Spider-Man will cause more harm than good.
I just watched this movie in a theatre, and wow. I feel like this could really change the animation industry. The way the story was told using stylistic choices in the animation was SO. COOL. Every frame of animation was so beautiful!! I could have never expected this from a spiderman movie. Much respect to the talented people who brought it to life!
0:39 I love how when Miles' mother snaps her fingers, you can see the Puerto Rican flag pop up for a brief second as an action sign. Those small details really add so much to the already great animation in this movie.

So good to see that Peter B. Parker finally has a child. It's what his whole backstory was all about and after he met Miles, he had the courage to finally move on and make things right about it. Even at the end of Into the Spider-Verse he was so hyped he finally taught Miles the same things he had to trough alone and questioned himself with "Do I want a kid?". Awesome development!

Just watched this movie tonight at my friend's house on his huge 120' screen, Hands down one of the best movies I've ever seen. No lie the art, music, story, the voices, the characters just everything in this movie just blew me away. There were moments where I couldn't take in what I was watching, the colors, cause it was going so fast I will definitely be watching this movie multiple times. A++++, rating speak for themselves, Phenomenal movie I don't know what else to say about it, Just beautifully done.
I love how feral and raw 99’s animation and movement is. Spider-Man has typically been portrayed as a smooth and weightless figure. His personality really shows, how he clings so hard to his ideals and how desperate he is to keep those around him “in line”.
Ironic really because he's suppose to be the "future" spider-man, and yet with his beast-like movements and tight grip on tradition, he's more in line with the past.

Spanish class was different than speaking it at home cause the teacher was from Spain and I had to learn all the English words for stuff I already knew in Spanish like conjugations or whatever so I didn't get an A
It's literally one of the best animated movies I've ever seen in my life. Before watching the second part of the SpiderVerse, I didn't watch the trailer itself, and then I was blown away by Miguel's appearance to say the least. A character I remember from the Ultimate Spider-Man series in 2016 is back on the big screens after practically SEVEN YEARS, which is insanely amazing to me. And the fact that he's in my favorite digital style just got me, making his new design something incredible!
We didnt need to see all the hints that 2099 would be a villain. Then we definitely didn't need the trailer to show us him fighting Miles. Especially not that moment. That looked like the climax of the movie! Wtf, trailer. Giving us everything before we watch
Just came here to say I’m a 29 year old lady and this movie had me emotional. Amazing plot for a kids movie. My son loves miles and I also love how he owns who he sees himself. The villain is captivating, the young love story is beautiful and seeing miles go from a boy to a man in his mind and owning it is just inspiring. This was a great movie!

“If not for Uncle Ben, most of us wouldn’t be here” That line got me a bit teary. Uncle Ben is one of the most important characters ever created because he helped create one of the greatest superheroes of all time
A lot of people seem to not like this line but it’s perfect from a thematic perspective. Miles Spider-Man is all about identity, that the things that make you different and individual aren’t weaknesses, they’re strengths. Makes perfect sense for his response to a constant outcome across all these different universes is “Nah, imma do my own thing” I personally think this movies gonna be really good but if I’m wrong I’m wrong.

The first movie was a PERFECT telling of not just the classic Spiderman story, but the archetypal hero story. Hero stories like Miles' are a call to arm for a person to become a person within their own rights by suffering through adversity, both outside and in. I love that this movie seems to be doubling down on that motif for me and actually reflects a tough time in my life where I'm suffering from my own perceived shortcoming of being unable to fit into other people's ideas of me.

It wasn't even *just* the fact that homie got a B. He got a B in *Spanish* which he should be acing absolutely NO problem! He speaks it at home with his mom!
I once worked with a mixed race student who was half Hispanic. He struggled with Spanish because the way it was taught in school wasn't how he spoke it at home or outside of school. He was a slow learner and didn't like it, so he dropped the class. While I'm not saying Miles is a "slow-learner" (the kid's in a prestigious, advanced school) how he speaks Spanish at home could be different to how he's being taught at school. Also doesn't help the fact that he's Spider-Man and probably skips that particular class, which also plays a part in his grades.
To be fair I have multiple Latino friends who speak Spanish that absolutely suck at school Spanish bc it’s Spain Spanish that’s taught, which is pretty different than Latin American Spanish in a lot of areas

I really like what they did with Miguel. I always liked Miguel in the games, like Edge of Time and Shattered Dimensions. But he doesn't get alot of love. I think making him the main villian, who basically keeps the Spiderman in place, makes alot of sense. I also like how Miles gets to make his own destiny, and how he needs to make a choice. Really mature stuff

I had high expectations going in from my love of the first film, and it somehow exceeded those expectations. This isn’t just a good spiderman movie / superhero movie / sequel, this is one of the greatest animated films ever made, and I’d go as far as to say that this needs to be nominated not just for best animated feature, but it HAS TO BE nominated best picture.

Glad someone else noticed how beautifully that line was delivered. So much emotion, intensity, sadness, grief and fear in just one utterance. Props to Hailee Steinfeld for how well she delivered that line. You can really feel Gwen's inner turmoil and insecurities. Oddly enough, sony managed to deliver a much more realistic and believable female character in just a single scene where marvel couldn't do with all those movies and series. That's what happens when you actually focus on writing good characters I guess.

@@68idlI don't think it's that way. The MCU is a canon part of the Spiderverse multiverse but not the other way around. This movie is made by Sony, Sony also does the Tom Holland movies so the connection its more easy instead of the whole MCU that Sony doesn't own. The Avengers/MCU have no interest in this movie, so it would never exist/"be canon". But the spiderverse movies have more interest in mentions of huge events from that dimension or cameos from only spiderman since it's owned by Sony. I know it's small detail, but people are going to tell otherwise for more views. Most probably this isn't canon to the MCU but the MCU is canon to this. Spiderverse is like the center of everything instead of the MCU being the center.
I’m so glad to see the state that animation is in right now. Between The Bad Guys, Puss in Boots 2, and this, I love how so many animated movies have been pushing the boundaries of animation lately. As for the movie, I love how it’s getting to take advantage of the MCU’s involvement in the Multiverse storyline too. This seems like it’s gonna be a fantastic sequel to what has already become such a modern classic, and I can’t wait to be blown away in June.
Honestly, the direction animation is going rn is great. There's no longer a need to make realistic animation and instead, focus on it looking great and stylized

Iirc, he originally gained his powers as a unexpected side effect of an experiment he did, so it’s probably gonna be one of those “I got transformed in a accident and didn’t have any way other than villainy due to the discrimination against my looks” things. But it’s been a while so I may be misremembering.
This movie went so far beyond even what I expected from watching the trailer. Absolutely phenomenal movie, and I can't wait for the continued movie when it releases. I rarely watch things multiple times in theaters, but this movie I'm going to go back again and again
That jab at MCU Peter and Dr. Strange was the best!!! It took me more than one watch to understand the "I'mma do my own thing" line and now I'm like, "GO HEAD, MILES!!!" Goosebumps indeed!!!
A multiverse made of Spider-Man’s is actually such a fun concept considering each have their own unique personality but all are connected by one singular traumatic event. Really drives home the idea of environment shaping an individual and not fated occurrences.

@@GhostlyGeo Unpopular opinion but I think Peter B. Parker is going to pull the short end of the stick this time. When we think about it it would be very impactful for him to go. The guy has suffered through his adult life and only recently has he became able to find peace in life, reconcile with his wife and have a child together and things have been going pretty good for him. It would make it more impactful to take it all away from him. Unless they pull off an andrew garfield like another commentor said and kill gwen. That would be tragic too. That she is so afraid of losing anyone else that she chooses to die herself.

I respect the movie so much already for having a Peter Parker that grows and whose life isn't just constant despair (it's nice even if he isn't the main character). I also appreciate the movie for just being a really really really good fan fiction in some ways. It has all the beats of an amazingly well written story but those moments of "oh crap it's the scarlet spider-man" are just fantastic. They don't overpower the plot of the movie and it's really nice to see all these references that aren't just for the mainstream movie goer audience (and it plays an additional role of filling out the spider-multiverse here).

And being a native in that language doesn't necessarily mean that you'll always excel at it. I remember i screwed up in my Turkish exams during my school years even though i am a Turkish native lol.

Just watched this movie tonight at my friend's house on his huge 120' screen, Hands down one of the best movies I've ever seen. No lie the art, music, story, the voices, the characters just everything in this movie just blew me away. There were moments where I couldn't take in what I was watching, the colors, cause it was going so fast I will definitely be watching this movie multiple times. A++++, rating speak for themselves, Phenomenal movie I don't know what else to say about it, Just beautifully done.

I love how feral and raw 99’s animation and movement is. Spider-Man has typically been portrayed as a smooth and weightless figure. His personality really shows, how he clings so hard to his ideals and how desperate he is to keep those around him “in line”.

It's literally one of the best animated movies I've ever seen in my life. Before watching the second part of the SpiderVerse, I didn't watch the trailer itself, and then I was blown away by Miguel's appearance to say the least. A character I remember from the Ultimate Spider-Man series in 2016 is back on the big screens after practically SEVEN YEARS, which is insanely amazing to me. And the fact that he's in my favorite digital style just got me, making his new design something incredible!

Just came here to say I’m a 29 year old lady and this movie had me emotional. Amazing plot for a kids movie. My son loves miles and I also love how he owns who he sees himself. The villain is captivating, the young love story is beautiful and seeing miles go from a boy to a man in his mind and owning it is just inspiring. This was a great movie!

The first movie was a PERFECT telling of not just the classic Spiderman story, but the archetypal hero story. Hero stories like Miles' are a call to arm for a person to become a person within their own rights by suffering through adversity, both outside and in. I love that this movie seems to be doubling down on that motif for me and actually reflects a tough time in my life where I'm suffering from my own perceived shortcoming of being unable to fit into other people's ideas of me.

I once worked with a mixed race student who was half Hispanic. He struggled with Spanish because the way it was taught in school wasn't how he spoke it at home or outside of school. He was a slow learner and didn't like it, so he dropped the class. While I'm not saying Miles is a "slow-learner" (the kid's in a prestigious, advanced school) how he speaks Spanish at home could be different to how he's being taught at school. Also doesn't help the fact that he's Spider-Man and probably skips that particular class, which also plays a part in his grades.
To be fair I have multiple Latino friends who speak Spanish that absolutely suck at school Spanish bc it’s Spain Spanish that’s taught, which is pretty different than Latin American Spanish in a lot of areas

I really like what they did with Miguel. I always liked Miguel in the games, like Edge of Time and Shattered Dimensions. But he doesn't get alot of love. I think making him the main villian, who basically keeps the Spiderman in place, makes alot of sense. I also like how Miles gets to make his own destiny, and how he needs to make a choice. Really mature stuff

i think hes more of the guy whos trying to fix shit and is willing to do it at any cost. i dont see him being a villain, but we'll see. he comes in clutch for peter int he comics so it would be a bad choice imo. i think hes been in the future so long he thinkgs he knows how things will play out.
I had high expectations going in from my love of the first film, and it somehow exceeded those expectations. This isn’t just a good spiderman movie / superhero movie / sequel, this is one of the greatest animated films ever made, and I’d go as far as to say that this needs to be nominated not just for best animated feature, but it HAS TO BE nominated best picture.

Glad someone else noticed how beautifully that line was delivered. So much emotion, intensity, sadness, grief and fear in just one utterance. Props to Hailee Steinfeld for how well she delivered that line. You can really feel Gwen's inner turmoil and insecurities.
Oddly enough, sony managed to deliver a much more realistic and believable female character in just a single scene where marvel couldn't do with all those movies and series. That's what happens when you actually focus on writing good characters I guess.

This movie is made by Sony, Sony also does the Tom Holland movies so the connection its more easy instead of the whole MCU that Sony doesn't own.
The Avengers/MCU have no interest in this movie, so it would never exist/"be canon".
But the spiderverse movies have more interest in mentions of huge events from that dimension or cameos from only spiderman since it's owned by Sony.
I know it's small detail, but people are going to tell otherwise for more views.

I’m so glad to see the state that animation is in right now. Between The Bad Guys, Puss in Boots 2, and this, I love how so many animated movies have been pushing the boundaries of animation lately. As for the movie, I love how it’s getting to take advantage of the MCU’s involvement in the Multiverse storyline too. This seems like it’s gonna be a fantastic sequel to what has already become such a modern classic, and I can’t wait to be blown away in June.
The House of Mouse cannot hide or ignore us, this needs to be addressed to Marvel Studios or else.
Honestly, the direction animation is going rn is great. There's no longer a need to make realistic animation and instead, focus on it looking great and stylized

This movie went so far beyond even what I expected from watching the trailer. Absolutely phenomenal movie, and I can't wait for the continued movie when it releases. I rarely watch things multiple times in theaters, but this movie I'm going to go back again and again

The guy has suffered through his adult life and only recently has he became able to find peace in life, reconcile with his wife and have a child together and things have been going pretty good for him. It would make it more impactful to take it all away from him. Unless they pull off an andrew garfield like another commentor said and kill gwen. That would be tragic too. That she is so afraid of losing anyone else that she chooses to die herself.

I respect the movie so much already for having a Peter Parker that grows and whose life isn't just constant despair (it's nice even if he isn't the main character). I also appreciate the movie for just being a really really really good fan fiction in some ways. It has all the beats of an amazingly well written story but those moments of "oh crap it's the scarlet spider-man" are just fantastic. They don't overpower the plot of the movie and it's really nice to see all these references that aren't just for the mainstream movie goer audience (and it plays an additional role of filling out the spider-multiverse here).
These films and the videogames have done so much better than the comic books in that regard.

And being a native in that language doesn't necessarily mean that you'll always excel at it. I remember i screwed up in my Turkish exams during my school years even though i am a Turkish native lol.
