Hey Marty could you possibly do "On The Dark Side" by John Cafferty on guitar, it's a song I wanna learn, but I know no one could do it better then you
I'd really say CCR is legendary by this point. So many cool tunes with so many cool and relatable messages. Really gets you going in every song when you think about it!
Marty, I'm 64, and honestly if I hadn't found your video I would have probably given up. Bought myself an SG for Christmas and with your help I've fallen in love with playing it. Best stress reliever I've ever found. Thanks for helping so many beginners , no matter what the age.
hadnt played in years. my old ovation was in dire straights and hurt so bad to play and so hard to make sound good. i used to watch your videos then. and now that i got a new little acoustic i watch ur videos literally everyday. you make it so easy. ive played for years but never "learned" the guitar. you dont just spout out cords and play. you show the cord n brake it down. you are a breath of fresh air on youtube.
The bass intro to this song was one of the first things I learned by ear, I can gladly say I learned it right the first time. Also: petition for “Up Around the Bend” or “Green River” next.
Seriously, you make sense to my fingers. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t tolerate anybody else but you. You just make sense. 46 years old and this old dog got many new tricks. Your “ Wish you were here” tutorial is my fave. Respect from Melbourne Australia.
What you did at the end was so good. Showing so many different positions to play the chord changes over was one of the best teaching tools I've seen. Take a melody everybody knows and show them how easy it is to play with open positions or barre chords all over the neck. Well done, sir.
I love you Marty. I began playing guitar about 2 years ago. I watched all of your beginner videos and 2 years later I made an entire album rapping and playing acoustic guitar on my hip-hop beats. You are so good at teaching, and I am extremely grateful that you are a part of the community. Cheers to you man.
Marty, thanks a million for the lesson! My buddy taught me the 1-4-5 principle, and now I've got an easy song to use it with. So much fun to playing it acoustically on my electric
Hey Marty. Love it! I’ve just discovered you. I’m 47 and getting back into my guitar playing inspired by my 10 year old son who is learning and I just wanted to say how much I’m enjoying your videos. I’ve dusted off my 1980’s electric Emperador strat and 12” Fender sidekick amp. Lots of fun. Rock on man 👍🏻
I am 60 years old and have been playing for just about one year now. Marty's tutorials are great. I have a favor and request for this particular video. Can you go over the strumming pattern? That would be great. Thanks Marty.
Hey marty i have been watching your channel for four years now and i have made much more progress than i ever thought i would. Thank you so much for being such a great teacher.
Marty I would like to THANK YOU, I’m very young and I really enjoy music I started playing drums of a year and a half ago for my church and now just in June I started playing the guitar and now I want to thank you because I have learned so much because of you and I want to thank you especially because of all these great songs I grew up on CCR I remember going camping with my dad and having him play CCR really loud on his iPod in his car so loud on the way and it’s really great to be apart of that and I thank you.
Marty I don’t know how do You do it but I had that song on my mind and I was like I want to learn it. 5 seconds later I check my notifications and there it is
Klasse Marty, wie Du jetzt schon über so viele lange Jahre mit Begeisterung immer wieder schöne Songs heraussuchst und immer noch mit viel Spaß wie am Anfang Deiner Tutorials dabei bist!!! Viele Grüße, Horst Lemke, Musikproduzent & Studiogitarrist, Germany
Thanks Marty. You have taught me so much over the years. Your an awesome teacher. Funny me and the other guitarist in our band when learning a new tune we say to each other let’s see if Marty has done a lesson on the song we are working on.
You are always my Go To. If I want to learn a song, you can teach me. Thank you, Marty. However, I could use a lot of help on the strumming on this tune. Thanks.
I forgot how much I love ccr! I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning and I was wondering if you could do 21 level of concern in the future.
This is so weird I was listening to this last night wondering if anyone has done a tutorial on how to play it and now this notification just pops up on my phone
CCR is definitely very underrated in the talk of some of the best rock bands of all time. Think about, turn on the radio and you'll hear a song that you hear at every party event and your like CCR sings this!? They produced so many hits not including John fogerty on his own but he wrote an American anthem! Centerfield that is! CCR and John Fogerty are just awesome!
Hey Marty! Longtime fan and recent subscriber-thank you for this fabulous video-you taught me to play one of my favorite songs!but being a dedicated guitarist myself and a lover of ccr since my earliest memories- there is one small difference from the original that you might have missed that makes all the difference when playing the baseline-whenever he hits the repeat of a note he almost does a hammer-on;kind of like a roll-on but just barely there, but thats what causes the smooth rolling feeling to it in the original
I just picked up the Freedom Rock 2 cd set at a thrift store for $.50 perfect condition! Without a doubt the most iconic various artists compilation ever produced. I’m considering building a frame to display them on a wall! Maybe have a push button feature with a mp3 player with the sound track from the commercial on a loop . 😊
Marty I’ve been watching your videos since I was about 7 or 8 years old I’m now 20, and still your the only teacher I’ll go to 100% of the time, love everything you do Would you be able to do some lessons on Gerry cinnamon songs ? He’s from Scotland same as myself and he’s got a lot of tunes I think you might like as well as your viewers, fairly simple sounding acoustic chords, Cheers from Scotland 🏴
lol Thanks man i can't believe how easy this jam is 2 chords with the thrills i admit took me a min to get the ummm licks i guess down the rest just came to me with out seeing the entire vid lol again thanks man
me at 10 years old: "Dad, why do guitars have the bottom strings at the 'top', and the top strings at the 'bottom'?" Dad: "Because that's how they make 'em." thanks, Dad ;)
I don't like how people are making fun of this guy. "Wait, people are actively making fun of Marty Music, the best guitar tutorial channel in the world?" Yes. Go look up "Guitar tutorial starter pack"
Hey Marty, or anyone able/willing to help. What’s the strum pattern that you’re using? Appreciate your lessons, and have accessed several via your website. Greatly appreciate them! Great teach and very helpful!
Marty. I’m doing my first solo acoustic gig. I have a J-45 and a Katana 50 MK-II. Would you recommend going from guitar to Katana to the mixer or just guitar into mixer?
Hey Marty, just wanted to say that I love what you do and that I have learned (well still am learning) how to play guitar thanks to you. I just have a request, could you do Oil and Water by Lee Dewyze? Ive looked everywhere but theres only chords

I'd really say CCR is legendary by this point. So many cool tunes with so many cool and relatable messages. Really gets you going in every song when you think about it!

Bad Moon Rising is my all time favourite song of CCR's its SUPER FREAKIN CATCHY!!!
It’s John Fogerty who is legendary, he was, is and always will be CCR.

I also like how you varied your chords with barre chords up and down the neck. Nice variation to remember.
I love you Marty. I began playing guitar about 2 years ago. I watched all of your beginner videos and 2 years later I made an entire album rapping and playing acoustic guitar on my hip-hop beats.
