I married in 1970 and Creedence was the music of our early marriage, our honeymoon music, we were married for 42 years until my wife passed. I still love Creedence and Fogerty's solo music over the years.
Great music to have those memories to. I remember dancing as a young teen at a wedding reception to a band playing 'Green River', and before that my grade school had 'Willy and the Poor Boys' album cover as book covers.

Man it’s such a shame they broke up in 72. Between CCR, the Doors, Eagles and CSNY they were on top of rock and roll. Even in 2024 they still top the albums charts. I’m 23 and all of my homies still religiously listen to CCR

Best American music ever made...Where J. Fogerty found all these ideas for songs is something that must have come from the heaven's. His spirit, enthusiasm, and relatability to his audience is unmatched. Truly the greatest American music ever written...along with the music of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys. Fogerty was a mix of country, blues, rock, and swamp music....Amazing even to this day. Being a kid at Summer Camp seeing the counselors listen to this music throw a knock out punch on the Beatles that ended the era with CCR completely in charge.

They had so much and this performance shows the world how great they were. Then it was needlessly thrown away instead of just riding with it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
Stripping away all the gossip and recriminations, they were a hellofa tight band, based on Fogerty's songs. How I loved to jump off the school bus and rush inside to play a tennis racquet to Creedence and Steppenwolf. It blew away all of the tedium of a long day.

Fogerty perfected that swamp southern sound. The irony is that the band was from the bay area.
He is a big delta blues fan. So he wrote songs about the South. Didn't even visit there until 80's.
