As I listen to this timeless classic, the lyrics transport me back to a simpler time, when life seemed to move at a slower pace. The music stirs memories of warm summer nights, and the longing for freedom and adventure. But as the song comes to an end, it also serves as a reminder to cherish the present moment, and to not take for granted the beauty of the world around us. Thank you Creedence Clearwater Revival for creating such an emotional and impactful piece of music
I Talk this song to my father, who is now one hundred and sixteen years old, and is with my mother who is one hundred and fifteen years old in heaven with him. Every time I replay this song, he smiles.

You don’t need a porch to enjoy this beautiful piece of music (from a man still going strong today with more music in his little finger than most pop stars of today).

The most i like from CCR is "Hey Tonight". I heard it first at the age of eleven. It was the start to became a Hard Rock Fan then Heavy / Speed / Thrash Metal Fan. But never forget the roots. Greetings from Germany. Grüße aus Deutschland : - )
John Fogerty thought his son Josh, age 3 at the time. would love this song ... and that is who he wrote it for. In the song there is a reference to a parade of magical things passing by. John said it was inspired by a Dr. Seuss book he read as a kid, titled "And to Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street." What a cute and happy little tune; I love it!!
***** here's some more Jean; when CCR recorded this video, the guys refused to speak with john because his ego was so big and was putting down his brother jim. sad info, i know
Marcel Parizal No it isn't about heroin or any other drugs, but like "I am the Walrus" and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" from the Beatles {also not about drugs}, this CCR song sounds like one hell of an acid trip if one is unfamiliar with the backstory.

It just amazes me how these 4 guys were able to have such a sound, it's raw, appealing, groovy and extremely tight and they play exactly the right thing at just the right time with the right amount, they are top class musicians, a lot of people would just try to show skills, it's takes a lot of restraint to just play it straight, especially during their jam songs, they didn't needed to be virtuosos, they needed to make the songs work, and that's exactly what they did... John had a vision and Tom, Stu and Doug delivered 100% every time, Creedence was those 4 men, and Fogerty had awesome tunes during his solo career, but the fact that such a sound with all the little fills and nuances came from the four of them really makes me respect them more as a group, Best Rock Band ! Or at least my favorite...

Was born in 82. This song hits just like it did when I was a kid in the 80s. Amazing.
same for me but 2000s/10s
I can’t help but listen to this song constantly. It’s such a simple tune, but it has so much soul. One of the best bands out there!
Great song, Great band
Hard to believe they never had a #1 hit!😜. I was young but remember them! Then their agent ran away with their money! I hope Karma got him!
@@irazzimmer85 I was reading how Hendrix agent robbed him blind and its most likely he had Jimi killed because he was leaving him. He died in a plane crash awhile after Jimi died. I hope he was awake when it went down that would be karma ye.
Amen!!!

We all do. At least we were there. The 70s were heaven
I Talk this song to my father, who is now one hundred and sixteen years old, and is with my mother who is one hundred and fifteen years old in heaven with him. Every time I replay this song, he smiles.
One of the most fun tunes. Loved it since a baby almost 40 years ago.
I can't listen to the start of this song without patting the roof of my car in time with the beat.
and burn your crouch with roaches
Watcha got?
Mind if I do a J?
Fucking A
while gently bobbing ur head scouring an open field at sunset!!
Some blues, country, and 1950s rock influences are here, and it makes this song so good. Creedence Clearwater Revival are a really great band. It's nice to hear such happy music in these times. Cheers! ✌️
So true ,I am 77 and Creedence makes me happy
DITTO !!!!
Im a Nurse Assistant who works with veterans diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and Everytime I play CCR during meal times, they light up and sing along at times! Music truly is a beautiful thing!
My dad just passed away and this song is what played to me growing up. Listening it now really make reflect on the good times .thank you
John Fogerty lead vocals , Tom Fogerty guitar, Stu Cook bass , Doug " Cosmo " Clifford Drums
I honestly love this guy's voice, so iconic/distinct.
No one sings like him!!!
@Sean moynihan And he won!
@Sean moynihan yes...for "Old Man Down The Road"
@Sean moynihan he sure did.
One of the best soul or rock voices of all time. That's for sure.
This is absolute perfection. I can put this on loop for a good hour and never tire of it. The handsome guy smiling in the glasses made my entire day.

My mom loved the Lord with all her heart and died early at 51. As a small child I would see her in the kitchen doing dishes and she would be singing this old song. My how I miss her tonight. Hug your living loved ones and tell them how much you love them because when the Lord takes them home it will change you forever. I am 65 now but I still remember her singing this like it was yesterday. May this song bring you hope and comfort!
No
Amen brother
Hope you give her the best hug when it’s your time to see her again 💪💪💪
God is with you
💯Facts. I just got home from work and the first thing I'm going to do is give her the biggest hug ever. It's her 61st anniversary and I know that she is missing dad terribly so I'm hoping my hug will hold her over until she sees him again. I love them both dearly. Ty for your comment it gave me an opportunity to say mine. Ty from 🇨🇦
This has GOT to be one of the most legendary songs ever.Timeless classic...
I can just imagine them playing together at the cookout 🥲🍻
If you’re here, you have superior music taste compared to the trash people listen to nowadays.

@@dameo1682 Yes it does. What's on the radio is worse than trash. At least real trash was useful or good at one time in its life.
The post-modern music industry cranks out sewage intentionally.
You mean Taylor Swift? 😅
"Bother me tomorrow, today I'll buy no sorrows" a great line indeed.
My fav ccr song. I could listen to this song a hundred times.
Cool man. Listening to it 20x in a row right now.
Me too I love the video. there all smiles.
I would, too. I'm surprised I'm not burned out on it from the Science Channel commercials.
HalfEatenMedia especially on the highway driving
HalfEatenMedia I love this song, but what I find hilarious is this video is just the happiest and most positive song you'll ever hear, but the comment section is filled with negative comments. Can anyone say ironic? XD
Since we have no other option right now than to sit on the porch and look out of the backdoor, we should rather enjoy this beautiful piece of music :D
Johannes Weiss absolutely ☺️
Yep just kick back with a pellet gun and some classic rock and shoot some pop cans.
You don’t need a porch to enjoy this beautiful piece of music (from a man still going strong today with more music in his little finger than most pop stars of today).
Des princesses

Always reminds me of my dad! He had this album and when I was around 4 years old I recall dancing around the living room while he played the guitar along with this song! I am 55 now and still see that memory. I LOVE CCR...always have. Thanks Dad 💕
This came out when my family and I were living on the Kankakee river in Illinois. Brings back some good memories.
Look at these guys... They are absolutely loving what they are doing..... Absolutely brilliant ❤️

This song just makes you i feel like heaven and peace could be found anywhere even your backyard brings the good out of anyone😊

The most i like from CCR is "Hey Tonight". I heard it first at the age of eleven. It was the start to became a Hard Rock Fan then Heavy / Speed / Thrash Metal Fan. But never forget the roots. Greetings from Germany. Grüße aus Deutschland : - )
Elite? we are supreme beings
***** here's some more Jean; when CCR recorded this video, the guys refused to speak with john because his ego was so big and was putting down his brother jim. sad info, i know
I was under the impression that this song was about John taking an acid tab when back from touring? Maybe wrong, but I'm sure I read that somewhere.
CityGov i heard it was about heroin ..
Marcel Parizal No it isn't about heroin or any other drugs, but like "I am the Walrus" and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" from the Beatles {also not about drugs}, this CCR song sounds like one hell of an acid trip if one is unfamiliar with the backstory.
me too!! but the shoot people say makes you wonder
I'm listening 5-18-24 I'm 76 and its still awesome group 🎉❤

I'm sure the dude thanks you. Saw him in Red Rocks, CO a few weeks back on his 50th Anniversary tour. He was fantastic. No . . . . better than fantastic.

This video is ancient and was probably made for little money, but it's still better than 95% of the stuff out there.
I have to agree with you Tim
+Julia Mauk Yes I like this old vid Its like raw
Tommy Black, Yeah good way to put it Tommy they just say back and rocked
+Tim Russell Actually, this song is about heroine addiction... its upbeat tune kinda confuses people, but there it is... :)
Agreed. I was born in 1987 and most of the modern stuff does not appeal to me whatsoever. I love music like this and my job has introduced me to other great songs.
Rock Gods! Every song they put out was a hit! I wish they would have stayed together longer. Thank you CCR!!
Every time I hear this song I start to tear up. Lost my dad last year and my first Siamese cat 12 years ago and I have been thinking about them a lot lately.
Steven Anderson Same, I feel very nostalgic with this song, my dad left the house two years ago and said he would never come back
UR88 I’m sorry for your loss of your father I lost my dad too a few months ago from cancer
@@trixtrix146 I'm so sorry, that's really sad
At least he is resting in peace my man
they're as happy as a box of puppies. I love it
+Friar Tuck Yeah its infectious!
+Friar Tuck I'd be happy too if I sat down and dropped acid xD
+Friar Tuck *high* there fixed it
Just got home from Illinois locked the front door oh boy, nobody coming through the front and they're having a ball in the backyard :-) I'm having a ball with all these messages and I'm clean & sober for 24-1/2 years. Back in those days a few plasadils (sp); mandy's; ludes; T; bennys; molly's anybody else know what I'm talking about and of course reefer lol
+Friar Tuck All you need sometimes is to hear happy people sing about lounging around.
Im 41 lost my Dad 3 yrs ago and this was his favourite band when listening always reminds me of him and just make me 😊
The guys look so happy here, so sad in just a couple of years the band split up never to play together again. So much animosity already in the band, that is still there today.
John Fogerty is a f*cking national treasure ❤️
Kim Crowell not really, he turned into a leftist, it's as sad as what happened to Cat Stevens
Is he in Ccr?
😎😗😍😘😯😟😭😨🏆😄♿😤🌊😇🔥
agreed.
says mooore about you then about him
This song hits me on a different level. It makes me think of all the best times and happiest memories I had even when I'm going through the rough
Always makes me remember happier times.
Always great music from ccr!
amazing. I listen to it all the time from Russia
Don’t think enough people appreciate this lyric enough ...”bother me tomorrow, today I found no sorrow” This is so many levels deep for such a seemingly simplistic song on the surface.
I think its "bother me tomorrow, today I'll buy no sorrow."
«Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon...» What is it talking about?😀
@@barnichua The "magic spoon" refers to heroine use and it sending you to another place (limbo?), mentally. "Today, I'll buy no sorrow" refers to not buying heroine.
@@v.e.7236 I thought it actually was about heroin, though I think the second sentence means something like «I won't listen to your dramas» because of being high and unconcerned. Regards
I also thought he said "found" at first😂
Love the casual setting they have in the video. They all look like a group of friends just having fun an afternoon. Love this song.
Tuka se ginda
Which is ironic considering the tensions that were brewing within the band at the time and which eventually led to them splitting up.
How do you know its a afternoon if the video is black and white?
+Nuno Azenha Zwippie92 did not say it was in the afternoon. Clearly, it says "They look like"....... Sort of like, your comment makes you look like a moron but you may not be, maybe you just have a poor grasp of the English language which does not mean you are a moron.
Nuno Azenha There's a color version but the Channel upload it Black and white
It just amazes me how these 4 guys were able to have such a sound, it's raw, appealing, groovy and extremely tight and they play exactly the right thing at just the right time with the right amount, they are top class musicians, a lot of people would just try to show skills, it's takes a lot of restraint to just play it straight, especially during their jam songs, they didn't needed to be virtuosos, they needed to make the songs work, and that's exactly what they did...
John had a vision and Tom, Stu and Doug delivered 100% every time, Creedence was those 4 men, and Fogerty had awesome tunes during his solo career, but the fact that such a sound with all the little fills and nuances came from the four of them really makes me respect them more as a group,
Best Rock Band ! Or at least my favorite...
Грандиозно- Бог попросил их спеть для НЕГО
Donny, you're out of your element!
@Antonio Sapienza We've got a whole team of investigators working on it. In shifts!
Love this music, this is the type of music that never gets old.

You can tell they feel good, just sing in this song...
This is definitely the best CCR song by far. Everything is just so beautiful, RIP Tom Fogerty.
He wrote this song for his son. The happiness on thier faces as they play is great. This song brings so many happy memories
