    I can't eat white bread because it constipates me. Can you please tell where I can get bread high in fiber. Then I can't eat white bread because I have to avoid it because of my LDL cholesterol . Thankyou for this video because you were the only one that spoke up about this. Because everyone else just tells you what to avoid and not helping anyone to find the right stuff to eat for kidney disease or other health conditions.

      Be sure to check ingredient labels for phosphorus additives! We consider a food to be low in phosphorus if it contains zero phosphorus additives.

      @kidneyfoodie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't come across any low sodium, no phosphate, gluten free breads when doing my search, so you may need to settle on one that is higher in sodium and then balance that out with lower sodium choices the rest of the day.

    • @kidneyfoodie
      @kidneyfoodie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends on what your nutrition needs are. Most of their products contain no phosphorus additives (which is good - but always check labels), but most of their products would be considered high in sodium. The protein content of their products also varies, so you would want to be sure to choose one that met your needs best. I would check with your dietitian to see what they think about them for you!

    I thank you SO much for the helpful information you give. This information is so needed for me now. My fiancee is 58 and has just had part of his aorta removed and a part put on that is plastic and part cow. His kidneys have been injured and he has high blood pressure and is now become slightly diabetic. As a black male I am learning more about his ethnicity. He had his heart operation on the 19th and must be in rehab for a while to learn to do things again. He also has Scholiosis and has Autism. His diet when he comes home will be so hard for me. It will be low in sodium, phosperous and potassium. I want to help his poor kidneys as much as I ca so he doesn't have to go through dialysis later. I am a white 76 year old woman and I want to learn things that aren't complicated to make. He's used to fast foods or plain foods at home. Not fancy recipes. You helped me so much today. I have high anxiety and am under a psychiatrist's care. I'm on 1,200mg Gabapentin and worry about everything. I have un-assessed ADHD also. You have a new sub as of today. I look forward to any helpful things I might learn from you. Food shopping is going to be SO hard for me. I was 400 pounds when I met him, and since April 2022, I have lost 266 pounds. I'm now 234 and am trying for 150. Thank you SO MUCH, Dr.

      Hi! If you're looking for kidney friendly baking recipes, I would focus your search on "low salt bread recipes" or "low sodium bread recipes". If the recipe calls for baking powder, then just be sure to substitute that for kidney friendly baking powder (which is 2 parts cream of tartar and 1 part baking soda). Then your bread will be kidney friendly!
