The amount of work and love the locals have put into preserving and resurrecting their history is amazing. We all owe them a debt of gratitude. Thanks for the wonderful job you did bringing this to our attention. I'm eager to see more of your adventures.
We are lucky in the UK that people do want to preserve and share the past with future generations. Change happens but it’s always good to be able to experience what life was like in days gone by.
Ahhh my Sunday morning treat, a journey with you two to lovely places I probably will never get a chance to see unless I win the lottery lol. I love it when heritage rail lines and steam engines are restored to provide us all with such lovely trips. As I type this a heritage steam train is parked over the road at our local station, it comes up each May bringing the sleeper carriages from days past and travellers come up from Melbourne and stay the night to see the silo art trail in the area. One day I hope to go down to Melbourne and come home on it. As usual thanks for a great start to my day! 🙂
Ahh I hope you do manage to make the trip! Sounds like fun and something you clearly want to do! I assume it’s quite an expensive train ride if it’s an over night thing?
Fabulous video ❤ the steam train ride 🚂 is so captivating & I love the green scenery all over. Sea sounds, castle on mountain, ancient railway station, houses, shops everything is so adorable 😍 waiting to see more videos 😊
Just loved the train as well as the history behind it. It's such a grand example of what can be done by visionaries. I loved the photos of before the project was started and today, what an undertaking, but with breathtaking results. The engines and cars are some of the most charming ones I have ever seen, as were the stations! The video of the side of the car, the countryside and the steam blowing into the camera was wonderful. Thanks for sharing this adventure!
Lovely videography as always! Simon you're getting better and better. Love your research and the BGM. Nothing beats the calming sounds of a moving train and the quaint little stations along the way. Harry's Rock/cliffs resemble the Dover cliffs on a smaller scale. Awesome video. ❤🎉
You've managed to issue this in the same week that Time Team have issued their episode of investigation of an area within view of Corfe Castle. I feel surrounded by Dorset. Thanks.
You guys always look like you have so much fun with your travels! I look forward to Sunday mornings: a cup of coffee, and the chance to tag along with you both on your journeys. The photography and narration are perfect: very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing it all with us.
Ah, memories of my youth! We used to go on holiday there, as my grandparents lived there and it made for cheap accommodation. I have vague recollection of going on one of the last steam trains to Wareham and back. Later, we used to walk on the disused track to get to town. A while back, I travelled on the restored railway to Corfe. A full circle of holidays over a few decades.
Awesome video. I just love steam trains, excellent Thant you rode on one. Some beautiful sights there. I so enjoyed that. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
Fantastic video! What a beautiful & historic place to explore. Loved the pier and the historic train with gorgrous scenery. Looking forward to next adventure.
Another delightful treat I can't understand we didn't go on the train the last time we were there... If you're ever along the coast at Beer, the caves/mines there are worth visiting as I think they predate the Romans. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to Corfe, such a great old town. Keep safe & Happy Travels.
Oh, it's a pity that this location is 3 hours from London. It'd be so good if I might know it... We'll, let me find another place to do a day tour from london for next days. Thank you, anyway, showing this place and give me a desire to go someday.
I think you should also show some more dining experience section as part of the visit. That may be rude in your country to record video while eating especially some formal restaurants.

@@MemorySeekers well I expect its reasonably priced for what you get really and the distance you travel, its a " I'll do it one day" trip lol
We visited Swanage a few years ago and really enjoyed it but had no idea of the history around us. Thank you for such an informative video.
Glad you enjoyed finding out more about it.

You put much into your Views..Hence ...Always Top Draw..TU
Thank you so much 😀
what is it with the silly happy grin on men's faces when confronted with a steam train
Maybe it is just a man thing, same with most feats of technology and innovation? I believe the ladies invented the washing machine... ❤
Maybe harks back to the day when being a steam train driver was a thing as a small boy?
Your videos are informative and your are a talented narrator..Kia ora from NZ
