    My husband and I were just getting into camping and then we started having kids and haven't camped much since.... My kids are now 7, 4 and a newborn and they want to camp and putting up and taking down the tent with the poles and everything is just a ton of work.... I'm highly considering a pop up tent now!!

    • @CyprisWild
      @CyprisWild  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're awesome for the ease of set up and take-down. But the ones I have aren't rain resistant. I'd cover them in a tarp if I were doing serious camping with them, or I'd get a double-walled one. But I do still love these things!

    • @alliemille
      @alliemille 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CyprisWild Thanks for the info! We would probably only go one night camping with our littles, if rain camp out in the car.

    • @CyprisWild
      @CyprisWild  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alliemille In that case, I honestly don't think you could beat a pop-up. :D It's so awesome you're taking the kids out to experience camping! Those are some of my best childhood memories.

    • @alliemille
      @alliemille 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CyprisWild I meant "one-night camping" at a time. Not one night only LOl! We've camped with our first child just a couple of times, but this summer we camped in our backyard with the kids and it was a ton of work for even that..... HA

    • @CyprisWild
      @CyprisWild  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alliemille Naw, I understood your meaning. And I know what you mean. I used to camp with a two-room cabin tent, and had to set the thing up all by myself. The little ones make things more difficult by a great factor. It helps to find efficiency hacks wherever you can! :D

    Modern tents are way easier and quicker to set up than they were just a few years ago. In most cases these tents will have more mesh for better breath ability. Also with a separate fly you get protection from inclement weather. They will also pack away into a smaller package. So other than saving a few minutes in the set up, you just might be actually giving up a bit more. Just something to think about.

    • @CyprisWild
      @CyprisWild  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the pop-ups I've seen are not for legit camping. Just depends on what people are looking for and why. As someone who used to camp at least once every year for two weeks at a time, I'm amazed that I keep finding uses for these pop-ups. It'd be real nice if someone would make a decent version of the design!
