Jetour T2 costs one third of a Land Rover Defender 110, looks rather good, offers plenty of features a lot of us wouldn't be able to afford otherwise, and gets positive attention of the overseas reviewers, suggesting to us that it's a vehicle to keep an eye on and hope for it's appearance in Australia in not so distant future!

U should come to Beijing and visist the auto show now, jetour showed its T2 phev and T5. Jetour T2 now is one of the most popular off-road car in China car market.

Jetour T2 car is a serious off-roader, people have tested it in the harsh conditions of Nafud desert in Saudi Arabia and confirmed its high performance aspects.. the engine and gearbox never overheat regardless of what stressful driving you might exert on the car.. I even heard that some people have let go of their Land Rover Defender in favor of this Jetour T2!

That's great insights, thank you for sharing! We have no knowledge of Chery Cars reliability in AU yet, and Jetour being Chery sub-brand would certainly be met here with a dose of scepticism. But I do think it looks rather attractive and would probably compete nicely on our market.

@@ValueCarsAU Chinese brands are still considered exotic in Australia because they are selectively imported (maybe due to the toxic politics between the two countries).. but in some other markets, Chinese brands have already established themselves, they are considered mainstream now..

That is not entirely accurate as someone who is currently holding a reservation for this car in Kuwait (middle east), its not a body on frame truck, its a crossover similar to any AWD mazda or subaru and I dont expect it to be any more capable than this tier of cars. Apparently it does throw warning on the cluster when you get it in stuck in sand and try to push it by forcing acceleration (it will say overheating gearbox) but I am suspecting its more of a warning than an actual overheating as you can just use reverse and get it unstuck then keep pushing. (someone did say this warning showed up when he was on Eco, when he switched to X mode apparently you can bypass it). Still not sure how representable as I don't have the car myself yet. But i doubt it might be an issue in australia the climate might not be as harsh everywhere.

@@TheScorpio32 I haven't tested it myself either, I just reported what I heard from people who tested it themselves, therefore it is possible that I am wrong.. Anyway, I still think that for the price of this Jetour T2, it is a superb off-road car (good value for money).. Finally, China's production "overcapacity" is a blessing for the entire world, thanks to them we now have rich-in-features cars that are affordable to the masses 😄

Here in Philippines, Jetour T2 cost around 41k USD, Range Rover Defender base is around 112k USD.

Sat in a customers Ineos 4WD the other day. Heaps of switches, even on the roof centre console. Really cool looking.
The T2 looks nice but I suspect those plasticky external grab handles and roof rails will go white and crappy looking in the Australian sun like the old junky Korando did.
I wouldn't bother comparing it to a Defender, the Jetour will be 100x better quality than those rattle boxes.

Lol I thought Defenders are okay, and it's the Range Rovers that are rubbish mate? 🤷‍♀️🤣 Ineos is just way way way too pricey for me to even bother looking into - not even for me personally, but for what my channel generally talks about. 100k+ for a relatively unknown brand vehicle on our shores? No, thanks.
