I’ve not fitted a korniche lantern only other brands and yours looks a lot better made. I love how the glass fits in normally it’s a horrible little plastic thing that screws in and it hardly meets the glass I will be looking into these korniche lanterns great job robin as always
You ended up with pretty much exactly what I described in my last comment and it is so much better for it. However well that window thing is designed I guarantee if I was fitting it there would be several broken parts. I am useless with anything that supposedly clips in place. Somehow as soon as I look at or touch any push fit parts they break. OK with glue, nails or screws. Clip on over to someone else not so heavy handed and way more patience than me. Now the only potential leak is from capillary action up under the tiles from melting snow and ice if the membrane doesn't go up high enough under tiles. Seen that numerous times.
If you find yourself in need of any extra plastic pins / clips visit your local auto body shop supplies company, those lines you were using look identical to the firtree pins used to hold a lot of automotive panels in place.
Great work speeding the on site time, check out the Sheerline lantern roofs I used to install the Korniche but it’s hands down better and much quicker to install might be worth a look

According to their surveyor guide, their eaves beam width is 70mm and stand needs to be 6mm less. What kind of timber to use to get the 62mm wide stand frame? Should I just get a 3x2 cut to 62mm? Which type of timber to use? CLS or treated or sawn? I haven’t got a table saw so not easy to get to that size…

Hi Robin, seeing the mitre saw pack up, I remember seeing a Metabo plunge saw in older videos. Do you not have that anymore, if so was that because it wasn’t up to scratch or something else? My reason for asking is I was considering getting the Metabo Plunge saw due to it’s deper cut of 66mm compared to most of the others at 55mm. Thanks for the great videos !
Cracking work sir! Just one question. Is insulation on the inside of the upstand ok there.? Looks like that bit could act like a cold roof style construction. If so would it not need an air gap to the cold ply/osb?. I am no expert but if assuming a warm style roof will a vcl be ok before drywalling and plaster. Difficult to find a definitive answer for upstand insulation best practice. What say you?
In my limited knowledge Looks like a sorta warm/hybrid roof with insulation pushed up tight to deck. Steveroofer on youtube is pretty informative. I guess vcl behind plaster board would be fine . As there doesn't seem to be any down lighters that would compromise this. I know Liam from oak wood garden rooms does similar. My 2p

I’ve been considering carpentry/joinery as a potential career path, but with the seemingly impending recession it has my slightly concerned & considering other ‘financially safer’ trades (so more in the direction of Plumbing/Electrician). For those in the comments with ample experience, how safe of a job is this during recessions? & how is the pay in general in comparison to say Electrician? Really struggling with this choice, so any input from those of you in the industry will be greatly appreciated! Cheers in advance
Unfortunately i searched the lantern on a few websites. Just to check if there's a shipping option to Belgium because its a great product and i wan't to buy it for a project next year. But i diden't found any seller online that ships to belgium.. Does somebody know a website that ships to the main land ? or another option..

It looks like the roof man needs to re-point the ridge tiles. Did your saw pack up before you changed the brushes or after?
The upstand insulation should be same depth as the roof insulation. That looks too thin ?
The roof can breathe now and shed water properly, absolutely missed out today by designers.
