Falcon not being able to make money is the most ludicrous thing that has happened in the entire saga, which consists of superhero gods fighting aliens, wizards, robots, talking raccoons, and Captain Marvel. You’ve got a young, black, handsome, charismatic, Air Force pararescue veteran who helped save the universe, and he can’t get a loan to help his family’s small business? This dude could run for President and win unanimously. He would have under armour, Coca Cola, fubu, Stark Industries, the US Air Force, Louisiana State University, and every small business in his home town, including that fucking bank, would be begging him to do commercials, billboards, etc., begging him to endorse their products and services. He’s a runner. Phil Knight would have been at Tony’s funeral with a 10-figure contract for endorsing the new Nike Air Falcon shoe, and given a pair out to everyone in attendance. He is by far the most marketable avenger on the roster. He appeals to the social justice woke types because he’s black. He appeals to the conservative patriot types because he’s a veteran. There is no meaningful group this guy wouldn’t reach. But he can’t get a small business loan in fucking DeRidder Louisiana, or whatever it was. Give me a break.

Really sucks that Cassie wound up like this. The father-daughter relationship between her and Scott was among my favorite parts of the first two Ant-Man movies.
It's the whole heart of his character, literally! The first thing he does after the snap is look to see if she's alive. Its stupid that they'd make him egotistic and ruin their relationship/dynamic.

I think what kills me about MODOK is the same issue I have about She-Hulk and Moon Knight. Sure, they have surface level similarities to the comics, but if you actually read those comics, then you'll see how much they missed the mark to showing why those characters worked. Like, MODOK is suppose to look both goofy and disgusting. Sure, a floating head with tiny arms is conceptually silly, however, people don't take into account how gross that would actually look in real life. However, they literally just put a guy's face over a CGI character and called it a day, so he just looks like a bad VFX effect for most of the film. There's a reason why people are comparing him to Mr. Electric from Sharkboy & Lavagirl. The problem isn't him looking goofy, it's him looking fake.
Comic Modok triggers an Uncanny Valley effect were your mind isn't even sure if his limbs are actually real, or if he's just a giant head pretending to have a rest of a body. MCU Modok looks like a less rectangular Funko Pop.

In this movie we have her as the typical female teenager, which in Marvel means she's one of the smartest people on the planet, building mindbending tech in her basement and telling us "YOU need to do better!"

Funniest parts about the first 20 minutes of the movie: 1. The first 5-10 minutes literally plays out like a f****** commercial and I’m not joking. Go look at a heartburn commercial and you’ll see what I mean lmao 2. Everyone lays into Scott for writing the book and his rebuttal is “well..I think I deserve this I did save half the universe” (which is true) and everyones response is an eye roll and to pretty much tell him to move on and stop dwelling on the past, which is crazy considering that since Ant Man 1 he’s literally only spent a year or 2 as free man 3. I... I have problems with number 2... but I'm not sure what it is... exactly... I haven't seen any of the Ant Man movies, but, if Scott can write and publish a book, what's stopping literally any of the rest of the MCU characters (Avengers especially) from writing their own books? Can you imagine if Steve Rogers wrote a sort of journal describing his experiences of old to us things for the first time? Or if Tony Stark (or let's be real, Pepper Potts ghost writing for Tony) a book on how to understand quantum mechanics? Hell, do that, have it put into school curriculae, and, boom, that alone could explain ReRe Williams. Thor, before Asgard fell, could've done a series of books on the many stories of his friends and other warriors of Valhalla... confirm and or clear up Norse mythology. Or maybe have him tag along with archaeology expeditions, and he can explain from first hand knowledge what some of the artifacts they dig up even are.

Remember when tony stark took a decade and a bunch of films to create and perfect his armour? All the mistakes he made, the flaws he identified in his armour to fix and how long it took him to get to the bleeding edge armour? Now we have every single teen in the world is able to just build extremely high tech gadgets and impossible devices. With 0 respect for the things they create. Everything is just flawless and perfect immediately for them. Really speaks to the generation as a whole.
Well, technically whatever someone else makes will not have the VERY same advanced features as Tony's suit - for that to happen, someone would need to have access to his designs and the intellectual capacity to understand what they were seeing and how to improve on it, as well as the technical and financial resources to build suits. Will someone at a corporation ever figure that out? Of course not, they're business suits - they have no clue what makes a logical or good story.
The movie pretty much tells you that Hank and Hope also built the device. It was just a idea from Cassie, if she was the one who built it then it would’ve been built in the five years everyone was dusted.
Not only did it take years to perfect, it was clear that Tony’s tinkering came at the cost of having meaningful relationships. His obsession with work was, while useful, a morally slippery slope. Not even mentioning the fact his technology would be mimicked and used for evil _all the time_ . But who likes that kind subtlety from their genius characters? Let’s just have walking macguffin pubescent savants.

I agree with the ridiculous fact that Michelle Pfeiffer's character didn't tell the family anything about her 30 years in the quantum realm. I also questioned the wisdom of Kang allowing them all to keep their suits when they were captured. Then wondered why they didn't just use their super suits to escape. Did I miss something?
no u didnt. i was thinking the same thing. scott literally saved the entire universe from mass extinction from thanos, first by saving the half that was snapped, and then by saving them from the alternate universe mad titan from controlling all of existence. He too suffered, having had to watch his daughter grow up without her, and finally had a good job going for him, getting respected as a hero, getting recognised for his efforts, and being able to be there for his daughter and dedicating his book for her. but no, her daughter has the audacity to tell him he is not helping people at all, and gets locked up again, even though scott wouldn't want that. And michelle pfeiffer's character doesnt tell anyone about kang, despite the avengers proving to be the best possible people who have a fighting chance against him. oh and lets not forget. Scott lang's daughter says she was going to map out the quantum realm without stepping into it and says key words like satellite, which by definition, sends a signal to map out the earth. Michelle doesnt ask those questions before she switches on the device, when there was even a chance she could have messed up but once she starts it, oh no we got to shut it down. she could have asked how it works before letting her switch it on, but instead jeopardises everyone by not acting at proper moment. and withholds important information about kang till it is too late. I am excited for drinker to watch the marvels btw, cant wait to see how much more they can make the movie brain dead even more than the trailer.
It’s almost like the Heroes have become psychotic. Cracking jokes about people dying in front of them. Taking time in a battle where they can literally die, to show how to punch properly.

This kind of annoying humor I am pretty sure started in Guardians of the galaxy 2. Then of course Thor Ragnarok came along and was basically a comedy. Now every mcu movie is following the same path.
Not that I wasn't already falling off, but the scene in LOve and Thunder where Thor finds Sif dying with her arm severed and he's making jokes was the end for me. Sad to see such great characters shit on and wasted all in an effort to shit on the fans that built Marvel

Thanos was a great opponent because he was smart, strong, he had a plan, he was capable, it was pure belief, and he had depth and a real character. All set out in Infinity War with little screen time before that. This feels like they haven’t given Kang any plan to be as good.

The fact that every commercial I see for Ant-Man 3 forgets to show me Ant-Man himself, really tells me all I need to know. He was barely the focus in his second film. Poor Paul Rudd, he was a likeable Ant-Man too.
Michelle Pfeiffer said in an interview recently that she at no point knew or understood what was happening in this movie while they were filming it. Now that it's out, she apparently still doesn't. That's a good enough reason for me to add this to my "Avoid!" list.
John David Washington said the same thing, about filming Tenet in an interview and we all know what an absolute mess that movie was, in terms of the writing.
Another problem with the movie is that Janet/Michelle Pfifer is so damn reluctant to give the family ANY information that could help them. A hour into the movie they’re still asking “who are you running from/what are you scared of” and she just keeps avoiding the question for the sake of the revelation that it’s Kang (which we already know because he’s plastered on the marketing bigger than Wasp, the other main protagonist.) And they keep letting her get away with “I don’t wanna talk about it” when that makes no sense considering you have FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE of the type of threat he is. She knows he’s a threat to not only earth, not only the quantumverse, not only the universe, not only time, but a threat to the ENTIRE multiverse. But I guess that’s a touchy subject *shrugs*
Just enjoy the movie and stop picking holes in it. It wasn’t the worst movie ever. If drinker was praising it you would be too because you just follow and need to feel relevant instead of having your own mind. Sad.

Her having those discs creates a massive problem for the continuity or what’s left of it. In the first and second movie we’re told she had to shrink down to a size that was too small for her to regrow to stop a missile but if they had those discs on hand why not just shrink the missile instead. Like I always thought Hank made the discs later and that’s why they didn’t have them back then but no they had them and just didn’t uses them because.

Scott Lang is even less of a superhero than hawkeye or black widow. He's not a soldier, he doesn't have any special serum, he's not a super genius billionaire philanthropist. He can do some parkour and throw a punch. Without his suit he can do nothing. What is he meant to do to fix the worlds problems? Let the man retire!?!
And to compare it to real life, life threatening positions (police, fire fighters, soldiers, etc.), is he not allowed to retire and do something else? Imagine telling a fire fighter they can't quit their job because people need their help. Ant-Man's powers come from his suit, and there are plenty of other heroes that can help run things, right?
All the jokes in the movie were so cringe that I really wanted to walk out. I've never wanted to do that but I felt so uncomfortable. They were just so cringe, so misplaced and so unfunny.
I've noticed that the most effective way to stop evil is to just tell bad people (like school administrators) to stop being evil. Works every time. That's why the literacy rate is plummeting.

The whole plot point of Michelle Pfeiffer finding out Kang was evil by touching his ship felt so derivative of the time they did the same thing with Wanda and Vision in Age of Ultron.
My favorite part was when they show Kang finally joining the battle and he starts atomizing the fodder but when he uses those same weapons it's merely a tickle and a slight pushback on the Ant Fam

Ant Girl fights the police for moving the homeless (not actually solving the problem) and builds a device to map a world people cant even comprehend. It seems part of the last-minute reshoots was to change the ending, which used to be Kang escaping and trapping scott/hope in the quantum realm (based on leaks). But the execs wanted their light-hearted movie. You can see in the reshoot photos that paul rudd is carrying the donut box from the weird final scene, so that wasn't even a thing until the last few weeks. Unbelievable

In an ideal world someone with a brain stem wouldve capitalized on infinity War and Endgames insane financial success and not use it as an opportunity to make an entire phase worth of shoehorning, mediocrity and defamation of their own characters. Putting the fear of absolute effin god into people is a particular kind of acting skill. Not many people have it. You don't need to be particularly physically imposing either. Tim Roth has it. Gary Oldman has it. Jared Leto doesn't have it.
There isn't a single young actor (and Leto isn't young, but he seems like it) that I can think of that has it. They're all wispy, Korean boy band men that look about a threatening as a light breeze.
Gary Oldman is a fucking legend. I don't think he has ever played the same role twice. Every character he portrays doesn't just look completely different, they behave completely different. That man is an acting genius.
Ant Man became one of my favorites after they made him charismatic and kinda in over his head but he was grounded. That scene in endgame where he's just searching to make sure Cassie is alive was the heart we needed after Clint lost everything. I can't imagine him being egotistic and being criticized for being a bad father to Cassie. I don't know what they're trying to do in this film and I'm honestly not excited to see this.
I still can't believe the sharp sudden mine shaft drop of quality after Endgame. The MCU went from me watching every movie released in the first week of cinema release, to me falling asleep while watching wakanda forever at a friends house. The soul is gone and the ride is over. Lets just dig the grave, pay our respects and move on with life
I honestly think after Endgame a lot of people whose names still appear in the credits (Feige et. al.) checked out and delegated more of the on-set producing to up and comers at the studio who didn't build anything but see the MCU's success as a big platform for their flavour-of-the-month activism. Someone's clearly asleep at the wheel if we have a female stand-in for every male Avenger, and She-Hulk would never have gotten greenlit (ba dum tsh) if it had been anything other than an MCU property.

Ike Perlmutter was the architect until Feige convinced Disney to hand complete control over to him in Phase 3. Luckily the conclusion of the Infinity Saga was already in place with the Russo brothers, but Feige still managed to force in Captain Marvel. Everything released since Endgame outside of Spider-man: No Way Home has been orchestrated by Kevin Feige, and this is why the MCU has declined so significantly.
I’d argue Infinity War is the actual high water mark. Captain Marvel was garbage and Endgame is a competent conclusion but a big step down from IW in the plot dept

I took my little boy to the cinema to see "Puss in Boots: the Last Wish!" And whilst standing in the foyer of the cinema, almost every poster was of a Superhero CGI fest! Compared to back in the 90's whenever I went to the cinema, there was posters and promo stands for the latest would-be blockbuster! I remember Cinemattractions that used to be shown on ITV Night-time had the titles to these films just after the intro with the Voice-Over and you'd get excited by the short snippets you'd see onscreen, especially the featurettes! Even "Movies, Games and Videos!" would show some fantastic content to get excited about! It made going to the cinema all the more, an enjoyable experience! Nowadays, when all you can offer is Man bashing, depressing, corporate CGI riddled horse-shit, it makes this old movie lover think that cinema's glory days are well and truly gone! Or, in other words, fucked!! Hollywood is dead!!!

The MCU needs a complete rethink, no one cares about Kang and any interest people had in the character was quickly ended in Loki if they want a universe threat level villain then make it about Galactus or my personal favorite to introduce Doctor Doom. Even then these 'modern writers' would still find a way to mess up these established characters.

The point when Drinker chugs JD for eight seconds after Mauler tells him about Disney's "clever" pro-Socialism message ham-fisted into the is a strangely beautiful moment. You can tell he was prepping himself to 'chug' for show, but when it all processes, he genuinely tells himself, "Nope. This really _is_ too stupid for me to take sober! I'm chugging until the pain stops!"
The first part of this movie seems like a good idea. The Avenger who know one really cared about, being the only one left, or at least in the public eye, and being called on to help the world, when he is content to just live his life. It always bothers me when people try to guilt the Avengers into something. Like Hawkeyes kids trying to make him feel bad if he isn’t home in Christmas Day. He should have told his kids, “ I traveled through time and space, saw my best friend kill herself, and going hit and Alien horde, just so you could exist again. Give me a break if I don’t get home till Dec. 26th.” That’s what Scott should have done in this movie. I think that would have been more interesting. But what do I know?

I think what kills me about MODOK is the same issue I have about She-Hulk and Moon Knight. Sure, they have surface level similarities to the comics, but if you actually read those comics, then you'll see how much they missed the mark to showing why those characters worked. Like, MODOK is suppose to look both goofy and disgusting. Sure, a floating head with tiny arms is conceptually silly, however, people don't take into account how gross that would actually look in real life. However, they literally just put a guy's face over a CGI character and called it a day, so he just looks like a bad VFX effect for most of the film. There's a reason why people are comparing him to Mr. Electric from Sharkboy & Lavagirl. The problem isn't him looking goofy, it's him looking fake.

I really like Rudd and Lily as actors; they're both proven talents.

Funniest parts about the first 20 minutes of the movie:
1. The first 5-10 minutes literally plays out like a f****** commercial and I’m not joking. Go look at a heartburn commercial and you’ll see what I mean lmao

Everyone lays into Scott for writing the book and his rebuttal is “well..I think I deserve this I did save half the universe” (which is true) and everyones response is an eye roll and to pretty much tell him to move on and stop dwelling on the past, which is crazy considering that since Ant Man 1 he’s literally only spent a year or 2 as free man
3. His perfect activist daughter, that you’re not allowed to admonish because she wants to help (that’s literally her character) and even worse she’s proud that she shrunk a police car and got arrested because they were clearing a homeless camp. I can 100% guarantee a vigilante showing up shrinking s*** is gonna get that camp cleared even quicker

I... I have problems with number 2... but I'm not sure what it is... exactly... I haven't seen any of the Ant Man movies, but, if Scott can write and publish a book, what's stopping literally any of the rest of the MCU characters (Avengers especially) from writing their own books? Can you imagine if Steve Rogers wrote a sort of journal describing his experiences of old to us things for the first time? Or if Tony Stark (or let's be real, Pepper Potts ghost writing for Tony) a book on how to understand quantum mechanics? Hell, do that, have it put into school curriculae, and, boom, that alone could explain ReRe Williams. Thor, before Asgard fell, could've done a series of books on the many stories of his friends and other warriors of Valhalla... confirm and or clear up Norse mythology. Or maybe have him tag along with archaeology expeditions, and he can explain from first hand knowledge what some of the artifacts they dig up even are.

Everything is just flawless and perfect immediately for them. Really speaks to the generation as a whole.
Well, technically whatever someone else makes will not have the VERY same advanced features as Tony's suit - for that to happen, someone would need to have access to his designs and the intellectual capacity to understand what they were seeing and how to improve on it, as well as the technical and financial resources to build suits.
Will someone at a corporation ever figure that out? Of course not, they're business suits - they have no clue what makes a logical or good story.

I agree with the ridiculous fact that Michelle Pfeiffer's character didn't tell the family anything about her 30 years in the quantum realm. I also questioned the wisdom of Kang allowing them all to keep their suits when they were captured. Then wondered why they didn't just use their super suits to escape. Did I miss something?

scott literally saved the entire universe from mass extinction from thanos, first by saving the half that was snapped, and then by saving them from the alternate universe mad titan from controlling all of existence. He too suffered, having had to watch his daughter grow up without her, and finally had a good job going for him, getting respected as a hero, getting recognised for his efforts, and being able to be there for his daughter and dedicating his book for her.
but no, her daughter has the audacity to tell him he is not helping people at all, and gets locked up again, even though scott wouldn't want that. And michelle pfeiffer's character doesnt tell anyone about kang, despite the avengers proving to be the best possible people who have a fighting chance against him.
oh and lets not forget. Scott lang's daughter says she was going to map out the quantum realm without stepping into it and says key words like satellite, which by definition, sends a signal to map out the earth. Michelle doesnt ask those questions before she switches on the device, when there was even a chance she could have messed up but once she starts it, oh no we got to shut it down. she could have asked how it works before letting her switch it on,
but instead jeopardises everyone by not acting at proper moment. and withholds important information about kang till it is too late.
I am excited for drinker to watch the marvels btw, cant wait to see how much more they can make the movie brain dead even more than the trailer.
After listening to this, I'm convinced the script for this movie was written by the Bing A.I. to cope with its existential crisis.

The fact that every commercial I see for Ant-Man 3 forgets to show me Ant-Man himself, really tells me all I need to know. He was barely the focus in his second film. Poor Paul Rudd, he was a likeable Ant-Man too.
Michelle Pfeiffer said in an interview recently that she at no point knew or understood what was happening in this movie while they were filming it. Now that it's out, she apparently still doesn't.
That's a good enough reason for me to add this to my "Avoid!" list.
John David Washington said the same thing, about filming Tenet in an interview and we all know what an absolute mess that movie was, in terms of the writing.
Benedict Cumberbatch said the same thing about MoM.

Another problem with the movie is that Janet/Michelle Pfifer is so damn reluctant to give the family ANY information that could help them. A hour into the movie they’re still asking “who are you running from/what are you scared of” and she just keeps avoiding the question for the sake of the revelation that it’s Kang (which we already know because he’s plastered on the marketing bigger than Wasp, the other main protagonist.) And they keep letting her get away with “I don’t wanna talk about it” when that makes no sense considering you have FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE of the type of threat he is. She knows he’s a threat to not only earth, not only the quantumverse, not only the universe, not only time, but a threat to the ENTIRE multiverse. But I guess that’s a touchy subject *shrugs*

It seems part of the last-minute reshoots was to change the ending, which used to be Kang escaping and trapping scott/hope in the quantum realm (based on leaks). But the execs wanted their light-hearted movie. You can see in the reshoot photos that paul rudd is carrying the donut box from the weird final scene, so that wasn't even a thing until the last few weeks. Unbelievable

Putting the fear of absolute effin god into people is a particular kind of acting skill. Not many people have it. You don't need to be particularly physically imposing either. Tim Roth has it. Gary Oldman has it. Jared Leto doesn't have it.

Ant Man became one of my favorites after they made him charismatic and kinda in over his head but he was grounded. That scene in endgame where he's just searching to make sure Cassie is alive was the heart we needed after Clint lost everything. I can't imagine him being egotistic and being criticized for being a bad father to Cassie. I don't know what they're trying to do in this film and I'm honestly not excited to see this.

I honestly think after Endgame a lot of people whose names still appear in the credits (Feige et. al.) checked out and delegated more of the on-set producing to up and comers at the studio who didn't build anything but see the MCU's success as a big platform for their flavour-of-the-month activism. Someone's clearly asleep at the wheel if we have a female stand-in for every male Avenger, and She-Hulk would never have gotten greenlit (ba dum tsh) if it had been anything other than an MCU property.
"Endgame" was truly the most literal title of the entire series. Everything SHOULD have ended there, but noooooo. No, no, no. Gotta CASH MILK THAT COW. Suck them teets dry, slaughter that beotch, chop 'er up and use the bones as drum sticks! Grind that meat into BURGERS, baby. Cheap ones, too.

Ike Perlmutter was the architect until Feige convinced Disney to hand complete control over to him in Phase 3. Luckily the conclusion of the Infinity Saga was already in place with the Russo brothers, but Feige still managed to force in Captain Marvel. Everything released since Endgame outside of Spider-man: No Way Home has been orchestrated by Kevin Feige, and this is why the MCU has declined so significantly.
I’d argue Infinity War is the actual high water mark. Captain Marvel was garbage and Endgame is a competent conclusion but a big step down from IW in the plot dept

I took my little boy to the cinema to see "Puss in Boots: the Last Wish!" And whilst standing in the foyer of the cinema, almost every poster was of a Superhero CGI fest! Compared to back in the 90's whenever I went to the cinema, there was posters and promo stands for the latest would-be blockbuster! I remember Cinemattractions that used to be shown on ITV Night-time had the titles to these films just after the intro with the Voice-Over and you'd get excited by the short snippets you'd see onscreen, especially the featurettes! Even "Movies, Games and Videos!" would show some fantastic content to get excited about! It made going to the cinema all the more, an enjoyable experience! Nowadays, when all you can offer is Man bashing, depressing, corporate CGI riddled horse-shit, it makes this old movie lover think that cinema's glory days are well and truly gone! Or, in other words, fucked!! Hollywood is dead!!!

This movie was pure comic-book-y fun and it felt the least cynical of all the post-Endgame films. It had issues here and there but for once I completely disagree with the takes here.

I’m starting to think Thanos had the right idea.
The first part of this movie seems like a good idea. The Avenger who know one really cared about, being the only one left, or at least in the public eye, and being called on to help the world, when he is content to just live his life.
It always bothers me when people try to guilt the Avengers into something. Like Hawkeyes kids trying to make him feel bad if he isn’t home in Christmas Day. He should have told his kids, “ I traveled through time and space, saw my best friend kill herself, and going hit and Alien horde, just so you could exist again. Give me a break if I don’t get home till Dec. 26th.”
That’s what Scott should have done in this movie. I think that would have been more interesting. But what do I know?
