Those garage sale deals on non working weed whackers for cheap don't always mean a cheap fix, I bought one looked new, bought it for $20 got home started working on it and found they had run straight gas in a 2 stroke.

Please show me the valve adjustment on STIHL MS 170 Chainsaw. I followed the steps you suggested on this Trimmer. I appreciate your confidence & strong speech. I take it as encouragement. Thank you.
The ms 170 doesn't have a 4 mix motor so there are no valve adjustment to be made.
Also, make sure your chain is properly seated in the sprocket (speaking from experience of a guy who took things apart unnecessarily… lol)
On this four stroke model yes if the valves adjustement is too loose the compression become to hi! also it is important to change the gasket of the valve cover because if there is a loss it affects the primary compression which makes the idle unstable and if the loss is great the engine will not start anymore
Got a question for you. What if your weed eater is only 2 strokes and is hard to pull.

I went to start my TRUPER chainsaw which is pretty new,about 5-6 weeks old,the starting cord is stiff and won't pull,nearly broke my hand,,lol
He says take it to the Stihl dealer . If he tells me someone else didn't know how to adjust the valves, then why doesn't he tell us.
I had the same problem and decided to opened it, but unfortunately i push the valve down with a screwdriver and now is out of place can you help me put it back please?
