This was a really well done game. Story was obviously incredibly well written. Detailed and engaging. And the voice acting and sense of humor, everything was very on brand, for such a lofty brand to match as the Indiana Jones franchise.

I knew that Sophia could be left in the cage but it had never occurred to me to leave her in the lava pool. This is more reasonable because if you leave her in the cage then how the hell did she escaped? the only one who can free her besides indy is nur-ab-sal but she only meets nur-ab-sal in the lava pool! I think the ending should be different when we leave her in the cage.

before seeing this ending I thought Nur Ab Sal already went through the machine himself which turned him into the immortal being he currently was. would have made more sense.
The impression I get is that the machine doesn't work, no matter how many beads you use. Nur-Ab-Sal managed to obtain immortality by anchoring himself to the necklace that ended in Sophia's hands, otherwise he would have dissolved right after the transformation, like it happens to everyone who "successfully" uses the machine in any of the three endings. He must have thought that going through the machine another time would complete the process, hence why he stepped in while possessing Sophia.
This was the ending I got the first time I finished the game. The "exorcism puzzle" was the only one I couldn't figure out in my first playthrough. My brain cells had been burnt out by the labyrinth at that point, lol. So I genuinely thought there was no way to save Sophia.
So, if you get this ending, the story in Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine doesn't work, since Sophia Hapgood is in that game. This is why I hate multiple endings.
(The good ending:) There is a way to persuade Ubermann to use the machine on Indy with 5 and a half oricalcum beads. That's the correct amount and Indy becomes a REAL GOD and a big pal of Nur-Ab-Sal. ... After drinking a lot of Nazi blood he and Saly rule the universe like pimps. They live in a big temple made of oricalcum and celebrate their victory with their sex slave Sophia ;)
Nazi guards blood and an old man's must be powerful stuff if when halved it's enough to satisfy two god's! One drop of Hitler's and they'd rule the universe!
Oh, Sophia's actually very 'grateful' for being let out of the cage, very '_grate_ful' indeed. Unlike the first three Indiana Jones movie heroines, Sophia is actually very supportive of Indy. Only… she got possessed by Nurb-Al-Sal since the Jastro Expedition. If Last Crusade and Crystal Skull are indications, then THIS is the DEFAULT ending…, originally. But obviously the developers like Sophia so much, they decided to keep her. Even so far of hinting her as the mother of Indy's daughter in the Young Indiana Jones series. The son of course never showed up, but is often mentioned. Right, Mutt?
the Last Crusade game also has endings with Elsa surviving - so maybe the movie not the default ending, they just didn't click on the grail in the right time^^
