Great to hear a normal shop interaction in Portuguese! I hope you enjoyed your meal! Snails are definitely off the menu for me!! LOL! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
European Portuguese sounds like Russian to us (when my brother and sister visited me a few months ago they asked me innocently why many people in Portugal speak Russian). There is actually a scientific reason for that and there are videos on TH-cam that explain why that is the case. Brazilian Portuguese doesn't sound like that btw.
Muito obrigada 😊 now that you know what we meant in English, you can challenge and train your hearing by watching without the English subtitles - just an idea 😉
Dina Robison olá and apologies for the late reply! :( I never cooked snails. I always buy them cooked already. But there’s a recipe from a Portuguese cooking channel that I like - th-cam.com/video/-_qw99ogErk/w-d-xo.html ☺️
Because of with one of the following reasons, the lady said: temos estas opções. So my mother-in-law replies: quero esta [opção]. Or it could be she was referring to the word “box”, quero esta [caixa]. “Esta” is feminine and so are the words “opção” and “caixa”. “Este” is the masculine form that should only be used with (or instead of) masculine nouns.
Samir Singhal olá! Sorry for the late reply! I’ve never prepared them. I always buy them ready to eat. But here’s a link to a cooking channel I like - th-cam.com/video/-_qw99ogErk/w-d-xo.html I don’t really know how to describe the taste of them, but I personally never tried the bigger ones and I’m told those are more flavoursome. What I like the most about it is to dip nice Portuguese bread into the sauce 😋
Portuguese With Carla Olá! Isso parece delicioso! I may have to wait until I go there so that my first time eating them will be perfect 👌 . Thank you for sharing that channel! It’s great listening practice and the recipes looks great 👍
'You're meal' means that you are going to be eaten! You need to use 'your', which is the possessive. 'You're' is short for 'you are'! Otherwise I loved this video.

Love this video and the way you edited it to pick out useful phrases, while still showing the normal pace of conversation.
Thank you Guyomar.

WoW I love how you make it look so easy!
This was fun! I turned on the CC in English - you all do such a great job. ❤

Why does she say, quero esta and not este, por favor?

Wow
What a great lesson! What do caracóis taste like? Do they have a special way of preparing them in Portugal?
