It’s challenging to learn a new language for the sake of “knowing” it, but it actually takes on a level of enjoyment when you can learn a language for the sake of “understanding” it. Your approach makes it easier to understand the “why” behind Portuguese. Knowing + understanding is the best kind of learning for me. Wonderful I had been confused about when to use the feline of a word, when speaking to a woman or always because I am a woman. I thought I would post my question in The Journey forum but never got around to it. I do have a question about the o at the end of obrigado and posso, it does not sound as of you are pronouncing the o but I don’t remember from your lesson about O sounds learning about a dropped sound. Can you tell me if this is a dialect or colloquial thing to drop the o sound at the end of some words?
Olá 🙂 Im glad this video has helped you with a question you had. In regards to the “o” at the end of words It’s a very subtle and short one, but we may drop it when speaking at a normal speed and when it’s followed by a word that starts with a vowel. There are Portuguese people who always drop the end “o”, but that’s more of a regional thing.

Tone of voice, facial expressions and body language play a huge part in the way we communicate with others, you just have to watch for those as well as the actual words being used 👍🏽 Saying that, more often than not “força” is used willingly and not begrudgingly.

I watch this video every morning to get used with the words and pronunciation. This is baby steps but I enjoyed it so far.

If someone says força, how do you know if it is being said begrudgingly or willingly? In Brazil they say claro which implies permission.
