Layout the board and place all the character tokens on their corresponding start squares. Place each weapon in a different room, it doesn’t matter which ones. Sort the cards into 3 different groups: suspects, rooms, and weapons. Shuffle each group individually and take 1 card from each, and without showing it to anyone, place it into the confidential envelope in the center of the board.
Shuffle together the remaining groups of cards and deal out the entire deck clockwise face down to each player. Some players may get more cards than others. Each player picks the starting character closest to them to be their pawn. Play begins with Miss Scarlet and proceeds clockwise.
On your turn you may roll both dice and move the number of spaces in any direction, except diagonally. You may not move onto a space you already touched this turn, nor may you move through or onto a space of another pawn, unless it is in a room.
As soon as your pawn enters a room on your turn, you make a suggestion by moving any pawn (or no pawn if it’s yourself) and any weapon to that room. You now are suggesting that character, weapon, and current room in the crime.
Beginning clockwise from you, one at a time, a player who has a card included in your suggestion must prove your suggestion false by secretly showing you one of the suggested cards from their hand. Once one player has done this, no other player needs to say anything or show anything about the suggestion. You are only allowed to make room suggestions to the room you are currently in. After you make a suggestion you may make an accusation or end your turn.
If you start a turn in a room another player moved you to for a suggestion on a previous turn, you may skip rolling and moving if you like and make a suggestion of your own.
Once any player makes a suggestion in a room, that player must leave that room in order to make another suggestion. If pawns block all doors to the room you are in, you are not allowed to leave.
The corner rooms on the board have secret passages. Instead of rolling dice, you may simply travel to the opposite corner room.
Use the notepads to help you keep track of clues. During your turn you may make an accusation. Tell everyone your guess for who, where and with what. Then secretly look into the confidential envelope. If you are wrong then the game continues. Move your pawn to the nearest room, but you are not allowed to win, and your turn is skipped. You must still reveal cards to suggestions.
If your accusation is correct, reveal the confidential cards to everyone, the game is over, and you win. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต

I remember playing this game back in middle school. Me and my friends didn't know how to play so we just rolled the dice with our players and used the weapons to kill eachother. Each weapon had a different way of killing like how the gun can only shoot in a straight line, or the knife you had to be near another player. We called it killer clue

Funny little personal story about this game. Many years ago, when my youngest sister was still in elementary school, this was among several games we used to have in our possession to pass the time as kids. One game, my sister, other sibling, and I were playing a round where my sis goes into a room and makes the first suggestion of the game. My sibling and I don’t have any cards to disprove it, even after several re-checks of our hands. Sis moves on to the accusation and checks the envelope-and, after showing us dumbfounded siblings, turns out to be right on the very first try, ending the whole game in less than two minutes. XD
So basically;
Clue is a "Find what's missing" game.
There is one card for each; character, weapon, and place. One of each is taken and hid away from the players.
And the players must guess correctly on what's missing.
Well damn that makes it a lot simpler.

I remember Mcdonald's or Wendy's gave a mini Clue game for their happy meal and I would love to play the board like it was a fortress. The illustration literally looks like the inside of Hogwarts and felt cozy back in the days. Had no idea how to play Clue back then and 20 years later. Learning for the first time.
nicely done video, though I highly suggest you film these as people play and not looking at you, it doesn't help much my understanding...I'd rather watch a game being played.

If any of your friends know how to play just watch them play or play with them. One of my friends showed me this video so I could know the basics and then I watched her play, that's how I learned how to play. Once you learn how to play you will see how simple this game is

Yes. Thank you. I have a group of friends who got mad at me when I made an accusation and won without “going to the middle”.
I tried explaining to them that this was never a rule in the rule book of any Clue game I’ve ever played growing up.
But their rule book did somehow clearly state that you had to do that to win. I was perplexed to say the least. I figured out that it was a very new version of Clue that had new rules. And new cards that could even “kill you” at any time in the game if you drew them. And you then would have to show all your cards and sit out the rest of the game.
But they elected to not play like that. And “play the old way”.
So my question is, if they wanted to play the old way, and not in the new Millennial version of Clue, where Colonel Mustard is instead not a Colonel but some Jock, THEN DO THEY HAVE GROUNDS FOR BEING UPSET THAT I WON WITHOUT GOING TO THE MIDDLE!?
Apart from the perfect and clear explanations about the basics of Clue...I`m in love of the Clue version showed in the video. It´s a very nice old one. I´m curious. How old is it?

Nice job. I was considering buying the game for the ESL classroom and wanted to review how-to-play. The text-based instructions I found online were difficult to read and had holes. Your explanation was easy to understand and complete.
You could've more clearly differentiated suggestions from accusations and given examples of how they are made: "Colonel Mustard with the wrench in the conservatory."

i get this game until the suggestion part. like how do u come up with a suggestion? randomly? bc like there’s no actual clues until multiple augggestions
it's a process of elimination game nothing more.
I have a question? What if your playing with less than 6 players. Will we removed characters and use only the remaining ones or we play them all?
you put the non player pieces on the board, to allow the other players to make suggestions using those pieces, but you don't move them or play them otherwise.
And is it ok to have two cards which are same in the deck of cards u get?

So what happens if you are playing with 4 people and all 3 people on your turn showed you nothing? Doesn't that give it away to the next player that the combination of suspect, room, and weapon you just asked are the 3 that are in the solution folder?
It could, unless you have one or more of the cards in your own hand...
I sometimes name cards that I have in my own hand to put people off.

Are these the original rules? Because that's now how I learned to play at all. We don't ever move tokens, we simply ask one player when we are in a room, not all 3.

if someone misreads their cards and doesn't disprove your suggestion, then when you make the accusation on the same turn and look into the confidential envelope and see they're not matching your accusation, what happens then?
u235u235u235 that's a good question. You could say that the person who made the suggestion should win, but that wouldn't be fair to the players other than the one that misread the card. You could say the person who misread the cards and the suggester should both be eliminated but that wouldn't be fair to the suggester. Perhaps the only thing to do would be to just restart the game.
So apparently the rule changed where you can choose to stay in the room that you’re already in and still make another suggestion vice having to leave the room and come back. Had to take the rule book out to verify.

How many cards are there in total to play with ?
There are 6 suspect cards, 6 murder weapon cards, and 9 location cards, totaling 21 cards. 1 suspect, 1 murder weapon, and 1 location card are chosen as the solution cards and the remaining cards are dealt to the players. This means there are a total of 18 cards in the players' hands.
the cluedo i bought have nothing like playcards or weapons in.. only mini board and colored points and 2 mini dices.. seeing all these I believe I was pretty much scammed.. quite surprised coz i bought them from a reputable supermarket and the price wasn't cheap either
Sally Lemon You can always make your own parts by writing them on a rectangular paper. The props can also be random tiny things or also tiny scraps of paper. It's a shame you didn't get the prices but don't let that stop you from playing! :)

I still dont get it... so this is a game on completely random guessing?
The guesses are random at first but as you start eliminating suspects you narrow down the possibilities until you know for sure who did it.
My Variation:
There's a 15 turn limit if you're playing with 6 players. If everyone's accusations are wrong, or if the 15-turn limit is up, reveal the cards. The character revealed in the envelope will win.

If that is your way to signify that a person doesn't have a card in someone's suggestion, then yes.
