I took Ritalin for a few months and I noticed no effect. My doctor and I tried a few doses and it really didn't do anything. I've been on and off of Adderall as well, and while it definitely does *something* it doesn't really help with my day to day work, so I've been working through other solutions/strategies. Anyway, your videos are great! Good to hear your perspective on these things!
Thank you Jared! I appreciate your perspective, especially since I had a very similar experience. I didn’t have a very positive effect with medication in general for my ADHD and strategies were the only thing that moved the needle. Always appreciate your feedback!
Hey, I've been there. I talk about how bad my experience was in this video: th-cam.com/video/KRiIz78JbpI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QuYfSKtaojpRzbBX. Feel free to watch. Thought it might be helpful to hear my own personal perspective. What are you worried about exactly? Happy to tell you what I personally found helpful for myself.
@@adhd_coach_nic I am mostly worried about her development. Her Speech and OT therapists and I believe that her provider is being overzealous with this decision. I just believe that my daughter is too young to be prescribed medication and that more time and observation is needed.
@@adhd_coach_nic My psychiatrist did my cheek swab in his office, sent it into the lab and emailed me the results. It looks like a Genomind Genecept Assay Report. I found out I have an interaction with the serotonin transporter SLC6AA as well as CYP2D6, therefore I should be careful with or avoid drugs with those primary metabolites like Adderall, Strattera, Lexapro, Prozac and a few others. Ritalin (Methylphenidate) is better for me, I metabolize it normally.

My daughter was proscribed Ritalin recently, she is 5. I am concerned to say the least.

@@adhd_coach_nic my previous message was censored.
Ultimately, myself and her OT believe that she is too young.
You can ask your psychiatrist for a cheek swab DNA test to find which medications work best for you based on the kind of enzymes you metabolize.
@@freiagalacar5786 Woah, seriously?! Did it work well for you?
