Get comfortable with being uncomfortable and face your fears ! Great video Nic 🙌🏻👏🏻🥳
@@pv-cc8mr Thank you! ☺️
I see being late all over the place as a sign of ADHD. I'm quite the opposite; I'll get there 1/2 hour beforehand so I don't get late; it's almost as if it's a fear of being late (I don't know how else to explain it).
Not a bad fear to have for someone with ADHD :) I used to be late to EVERYTHING. Seems to me like you're on the right track.
@ Something you said in your comment clicked. I started crying; not your fault. I used to miss the school bus all the time. We lived in the country and had to walk 1/4 mile to catch it; we couldn't just walk as the school was 45 minutes away by car. I would get severely reprimanded by my father. I forgot all about that. And now I know why I don't want to be late EVER.
@@thepeddler9226 Oh wow, I don’t blame you. I’d probably have the same fear if I experienced that. You’re stronger than you think :)
I took it on a full stomach and I almost threw up at work. Plus the fact that this medication did absolutely nothing for me. However it is wonderful if it does help people. Keep a barf bag with you.
@@loribenson8862 Thank you for sharing your experience. I think it’s important that people hear all types of experiences so they can find what works for them☺️

@adhd_coach_nic Depression and anxiety due to executive functioning difficulties in my work is a real issue. I have been diagnosed this week with Autism as well, which explains a lot.
12:18 Die-ana-vell Was my previous med(liquid) Bubblegum flavor may be beneficial for children, but any human being would appreciate it. Supposed all day med but took the max split. Not affected by pH, but ridiculously expensive due to the time release technology used. The same company makes Quillivant which is the med I used previous to Dyanavel. I’ve since moved on to ProCentra. Best ADHD medicine on the market in my opinion, and the benefits of having a liquid to titrate doses cannot be overstated.
Also, Dyanavel is NOT a full glass lol. It’s barely more than a teaspoon for a full dose.
man ive been going through all of these! am i going crazy? lol
You’re not crazy at all. It’s not easy having ADHD. Just know you’re not alone :) Everything ok?
@@adhd_coach_nic well not really "ok" but im sure things will get better especially after i get a diagnosis and start some techniques to improve my condition

It can be scary when just learning how to drive. I get how he feels. Glad to hear he doesnt have anxiety at least :)
@adhd_coach_nic the anxiety is for us parents 😄 I would appreciate if you could tell us if rudeness and lack of empathy and introspection is part of the executive function deficiency 🙏thanks in advancr
I find it hard to process information, like there is to much information that my brain is out of it , does that I have adhd
@@Ddfff-r1y It’s an executive functioning issue (which could be ADHD related or not). It’s easy to give every task equal value. I found it helps to go through the ADHD version of the Eisenhower matrix. I made a video on it you may find helpful :)
@@Ddfff-r1y th-cam.com/video/7S2zopdP1Q0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fcbzsXU-g_FN1PAl
@@adhd_coach_nic like could it be adhd?
@ You can only know if you take an ADHD test. My wife struggles with the same thing but she doesn’t have ADHD. Neurodiverse and neurotypical brains do share various commonalities in terms of what we struggle with. There’s even correlations between ADHD symptoms and symptoms of those having gone through trauma. It’s pretty fascinating stuff. But I guess the most important question I can ask as a follow up to your question is “what would it mean to you if it was or wasn’t ADHD?” Like, what is the intention behind wanting to know, for you personally if you don’t mind me asking? I ask because once I know that, I can actually answer the subtext behind the question so I can give you a quality answer you’ll find the most helpful.
@@adhd_coach_nic because I feel confused and find it hard to process information , and feel like cognitive load of information
As a woman with ADHD the only thing on this list I have is the anxiety. I'm in my 30's and have known about my ADHD since I was a kid.
Oh yeah, anxiety can be real bad! Had it myself for waaaay too long.
It is crazy on how so many of us can relate on a good part if not all of theses facts...😅. ⏰- Being Late, yep even on a bike I had some scare trying to not be late and so much scolding 💸- Making a living? Still a huge struggle today 😢- Depression let's not talk about it (got diagnose after X Work burnout ☠) ❤🩹- Commorbidities can go hard, for me unmanaged symptoms caused some serious somatisazion and now I live with an autoimmune disease (much better since I learned to manage stress and mindset) So yeah! Everything in the last pannel is good in it's own right! It's all worth a try, saved many thing for me including my relationship 😁. Saving for cognitive-behavioral therapy helped me a lot, I just regret not having coaching here since it paire so well with ADHD coaching! Exercices is a killer for focus and mindset and...sleep! (sleep deserve more love). And for some of us who are too burned or too lost to know where/when to even start, we're so lucky to have godsent like Nic!☺ Thank you again!
Being Late. Yup. For years, I took the time literally. In other words, not early.
I feel you! Took me so much time just to learn how to stop avoinding stuff by taking my time to the max and just seeing "going a bit earlier" as "buying my serenity" to avoid the true annoying stuff xD Nic video on "Ghost Time" talk about it well.
@@nufsaid80 Right! I remember feeling the need to speed because I was pretty much waiting until the last second to leave🙌🏼
Hence the reason why I’m in coaching with Nic 🥳🥳🥳🥳
From what I’ve seen, working on wxecutive functioning massively decreases the chances of all these things. In fact, it makes you intentional, strategic, and more likely to succeed in many situations :)
@@adhd_coach_nic Teaching us how to detect and prevent bad situations in our specific life context and in the same time teaching how to develop the skills to be in control and not be controlled (hence the intentionnal part) no wonder our chance of success skyrocket 😄

Hahaha, I was like "Hey, I'm wondering if Nic uploaded a new video? Let's check that" Update: 45mn ago 🤯 Btw, I came back to minecraft like... 48h ago? After months of hesitating, I don't know much about synchronicity but damn it's beautiful. Again mixing gamification and vulgarisation for us, a win combo 🌟 Let's share back some info: I'm experimenting with food again recently (mainly electrolyte) I lack fish and other source of omega-3 in my diet so I compensate with chia seeds and flax seeds (sometime almonds too) in my overnight oathmeal (good synergistic effect with blueberry, cinamon), those three are rich in omega 3 but mainly ALA (Wood Block🪵) from what I can see. Even if it's transformed in EPA and DHA by the body I still lack sustainable sources for the two other so I understand stuff now 🧠❗. Ate some salmon and foie gras for christmas (rich in EPA and DHA) and I felt a slight difference, too bad it's pricy here. I had a hinch and you confirmed it thank you for that! Mackerel, sardines even herring are easy to get here so thank you for that lead! Keep up the good work Nic, those infos are also useful building blocks especially for me :D
@@kronamadness7119 What a quality comment. I love how much support this brings, not just for me, but for my audience that needs help. I appreciate it, especially since I’m not an expert nutritionist. Love hearing the peoples take on things. Let me know if you ever find the super magic combo of omega 3 foods (2 bites of salmon for every 1 bite of flax seed 🙌🏼)
@@adhd_coach_nic My pleasure! I'll share what I can if it can help peoples :) I'm not an expert at all but I'm sensible to what I eat so I had no choice to do many research and experiment (Problem Solving Mode ) Turns out that overnight oathmeal and eating enough proteins helped me a lot in my weight loss journey, since before diagnose my main compensatory mechanism was eating my emotions 😅 I'll gladly share what helped me and how I integrated it in a ADHD friendly manner, an other super practicle subject btw! I do some task batching (mainly by room but it can be by day too) when I'm cooking diner since I'm in the kitchen I also prepare overnight oathmeal in the mean time, I put everything ready in the same zone so it's easy. Like that the next morning I have an optimised breakfast for my health and brain and even better, no decision paralysis not knowing what to eat to start the day T^T After than I rince my bowl to avoid dish accumulation and so on, your video on our habits good and bad inspired me a lot for that, almost became a game :D
@@kronamadness7119 You're going to do very well in life my friend. I can already tell by your direction. Keep going. You've got this! God bless :)
Try Elvanse
I was only diagnosed after 30 and I had to get a full skillset of adaptational methods to get through life before that. So now I can take a rather minimal amount of meds (which help me a lot). I love being able to have that tool. But in higher doses it indeed is not pleasant. And in my lower dosage I still have to employ my special life hacks to be successful. Just meds won’t make it. So yeah, just ramping dose up would not fix you if you don’t/can’t cooperate
@@paperlady Very good points! I know how common it is for women to not find out they have ADHD until around 30 or even 40 because it doesn’t look how people expect. Glad you’re finding your groove ☺️
Er... The solution to the highs and lows is to take a nonstimulant. Is this just to sell your course?
@@TechHug Merry Christmas to you! It’s to end the stigma that were broken unless we take meds. People deserve to know they can be the answer to their own problems & I wanted them to get clarity on what to expect. Non stimulants havent offered much different of results than stimulants aside from different side effects, because they don’t teach tangible action steps. Non stimulants also are less powerful in terms of helping with focus. Almost all of my clients taking meds for ADHD tell me how much it let them down so I wanted to post a vid of what they’ve experienced. The highs and lows I was mentioning was about the ability to manage their executive functioning areas. Ex. Focus is up part of the day and then it goes down when the meds wear off (at least with short term release).
@@adhd_coach_nic Fair. It just feels like telling someone with high blood pressure not to take meds and to just eat better. Yes, that can work on its own, but it takes more time. The fastest, safest and most effective way of treating just about anything usually involves a combination. I'm only put off because you left out an entire category of medication and don't take into account factors such as the fact that therapy can take months or years to be fully effective. It also sounds like in this vid you feel that it can only be one or the other. If you're in a situation where you can risk it taking months or even years to work through it with therapy alone, that's great! But for many people, being able to do that is a privilege. That's especially so if you don't have free healthcare. The advice in the video is good. I just feel like it leans a little too hard in one direction. It is important for people to understand that meds won't always work, or for people who can't get meds to work for them to understand that there's hope. I'm just concerned that people who may benefit from a combination of meds and therapy more than either one alone are left out of the equation. It just feels like this isn't nearly as thorough as you claim it to be and is heavily influenced by your own experience. We need channels like yours, especially for minors whose parents won't let them get meds. However, we also can't make blanket statements about how people will experience things. Also, don't clients come to you specifically because the meds aren't doing what they expected?
My son is in high school and has difficulty focusing. Does Clonidine help?
@ Before looking into medications, I always like to look at what the cause of the problem is and then look for practical solutions: sitting in the front of class, allowing a pocket fidget device, having him ask the teacher any questions he has after class, getting tutors, asking him to write a note on what the teachers saying every few minutes, gamifying the process by making each note worth 1 point and then saying he needs 100 points/week to earn a bowl of ice cream or a new toy he wants for example. The things that motivate people with ADHD are urgency, challenges, novelty, and interest. Just a few ideas :) Hope this helps.
I used to think that I was the only one in the world who had these problems. So hearing you talk about it really touched me.
@@etmryann I’m grateful to hear that :) just know you are not alone in this
I feel like I have absolutely no energy and no desire to do anything and when I take my medications I suddenly have to energy to get up and get started I don’t know how I would manage without it the only downside is I find it wears off very quickly and I crash
I found that the only 2 reasons people struggle with their ADHD is from setting too high of expectations and lacking in proper systems. You’re a lot closer to where you want to be than you think. You’re not broken :)
Here in Germany, it's called lisdexamfetamin. I switched from 30mg to 50 but still did not feel the kick .the only fabulous thing that kicked in straight away was a decrease in appetite. I lost 5kg in the last 6 weeks without doing anything 😅 I had a knee surgery, so I was pretty much sleeping or sitting. The typical me would be binge snacking, but I just don't feel like it anymore 😊 as to my adhd symptoms are there higher doses or will I need to switch to something else if I'm not seeing results?? I appreciate any helpful answer
@@hindalfalahi3559 👋🏼 Hey! Yeah appetite suppression seems to be normal for it. I’d suggest talking to your Dr. However I will say, just expect them to always point to medication being the answer when in my experience, working on habits works 100% of the time. I’ve always felt that meds just dance around the issue, but working on executive functioning strategies basically puts you in the drivers seat with structure & helps you figure out how you work best. Happy to send you some free tools if it helps :) tinyurl.com/nicsfreenotion
I can’t tell you how much this resonates with me, Nic! After my last burnout, I jumped into graphic design (mostly self-taught) and still question it sometimes, but everything you mentioned hits home. Problem-solving fuels my brain, and as a creative, I’ve explored all sorts of mediums: woodworking, 3D printing, graphic design, cooking, home automation, even AI just to keep that spark alive. It can be overwhelming, but it’s also what keeps me going. When things get tedious, I’ve tried delegating or paying for help so I can focus on what I’m good at. But here we talk about work so I understande it’s not always possible, but it’s definitely saved me from paralysis and meltdown in the past. @@kronamadness7119 It’s almost like a right of passage that we become graphic designers first haha. Appreciate it :)
Aaaaah Great video, Nic! That one put a big smile on my face 😁. While medication helps with attention, it doesn’t fix everything, especially for those diagnosed late, like me. It won’t turn us neurotypical or heal old traumas; it just makes things a bit more manageable wich is already helping. But on its own, it’s never a complete or fully sustainable solution. If you already have a solid support system like family, a suitable job, or financial stability, in short essential pillar in life, sometimes medication alone is enough, and that’s okay. But even then, proper psychoeducation and specialized ADHD education IS essential. Without that knowledge, medication can feel like Russian roulette, sometimes helping, sometimes amplifying negative feelings, mine make sleep difficult and if I'm not careful I shift in a sleep deprived cycle with ADHD symptom amplified because of that, the irony. What truly changed my life was learning about ADHD, understanding my nature (and my wife nature by extension), and figuring out practical strategies. Eveeeeen if I'm a bit of a special case being a nerd about everything that can help with ADHD xD Love the subject. What I mean is that a helping hand be it a coach, therapist, or well-informed friend could’ve saved me so much time and suffering. Managing mood swing, transforming impulsivity in creativy and not regret, reload energy without culpability rather than force through task like the neurotypical and getting burned out, rewarding yourself to be able to stand on the length, ALL Of This, Is, Knowledge. And who's better to teach than those who feel it like us. Like Dr. Hallowell say it's about "Learning to unwrap the gift🎁 " time to learn then! So I agree, medication can be a game-changer in the right context, everyone should give it at least a try, but real, lasting progress comes from knowledge, support, and self-discovery.
10000% there's nothing wrong with ADHD medication. I just found educating and empowering ourselves can go extremely far. Appreciate the support :) You definitely seem to be an educated "ADHDer"
When I stumbled on the famous"Learn it like you'll teach it" wich is really efficient for us I was so happy because I could work on a better life And help my loved ones, even helped me reconnect with my family, a huge virtuous circle un itself So I get the feeling! :D
@ 10000%
You're lucky that you were aware that you have ADHD as a child and were treated for it! I heard that only 13 percent of children with ADHD get treatment. According to chatgpt, your brain might have normalized with time " Long-Term Effects: A 2022 meta-analysis of brain imaging studies found that medicated children with ADHD showed fewer structural and functional abnormalities compared to unmedicated children with ADHD. Research also indicates that medication use during critical developmental periods might mitigate the long-term impact of ADHD on cognitive and behavioral outcomes." I guess I am going to have to search for advice from people who discovered they have ADHD in their 40's on up..
Yeah, it was really rough for me. I read the same thing, but found that it didn't work that way for me strangely enough. My ADHD actually got worse over time. I ended up being really horrible with my executive functioning and it would cause me a lot of anxiety. The only reason I was able to eventually function was because I found that working on executive functioning brought the best results for me. I used the same tactics that helped me onto my clients and they were all able to perform with exactly the same results. It boggled my mind to realize that's all I had to do. I track the metrics with every client and every time its like clockwork now. How are you struggling with your ADHD exactly? Happy to offer any advice I can :)
Thank you for posting this cause I took it
@@pinkysaroha5231 Oh of course! Hope it helped you make the best decision for you 😊
Hey nic, can you make video ADHD careers?
Love it. I’ll make that my next video :) Always happy to hear more suggestions
Most clear-cut video I have seen. Explaining with the colored boxes are great
I think it depends on the severity of the disorder... some people can live without stimulants, anti depressants or sleeping pills, pain killers etc.. yet some people cannot function practicaly without those.
Oh absolutely. Medications can make a world of a difference. Strangely, stimulants are the only ones I’ve found to be something I’ve been able to get around just from working on habits and doing them consistently. I thought they were a life saver for so long, but I had no clue how much it’d help my focus if I learned more on executive functioning management. How do you feel you struggle in terms of focus if you don’t mind me asking?
Straterra got me from 48k to 100k salary job in 8 months.. trust me you have to find out which works for you
@@Chutebox007 That’s amazing! It was in you the entire time. Tools don’t make or break the person; they bring out the persons potential 🙌🏼
SUCH an important concept, and it was cool to see a clip of actually coaching! You’re such a natural at what you do. After watching this, I’m realizing that not accounting for ghost time is the reason why I feel like I should be able to get more done and I don’t, which is super unmotivating. If I look at the big picture, I can plan accordingly and not be so overwhelmed and feel so defeated when things turn out to take so much longer than I expected. Thank you!
Why thank you. Hope this helps :)
An other gold nugget of knowledge Nic, sometime I truly wish I could afford your services! I know fully well I couldn't stop after the first exchange lol I suffer from something similar but worst my Gym is like... less than 10mn away so I'm really not proud of this The "ghost time" concept is very interesting I should add it to my reflexion, everytime I feel I can't fully understand a concept it's like it's too hazy in my mind and I become unable to have control on it, but weirdly enough it become more clear and tangible when I find a name for it, so I'll keep that one in mind haha We can be incredible at stepping back and having a global view thanks to our capacity of absorbing so much information, but it's so hard to do that at the right time, this is why I love the fact that there is people doing this job like you. Keep up the good work! 💪
@@kronamadness7119 I really appreciate your kind words. Tell you what, if you can find someone to refer over to me that you feel can benefit from coaching, I’ll send you my gamified course for free. It has every tool you need to manage your ADHD. I usually charge $200 for it but you’ve been so supportive so it’s on the house if you can help me. How’s that sound?
Woaw, thank you so much for your incredibly generous offer! It surprised me like a huge gift before christmas haha. I really appreciate the value of your work and how much of a difference you’re making for people like us with ADHD, I know it's not easy going that way it take a lot and yet I see how you keep offering a helping hand even to those who can be unplesant. It require some strenght of will and it’s genuinly inspiring, so of course your efforts need to be recognized and supported, the care taker need care too! I do know people who could greatly benefit from your coaching, but unfortunately they are not bilingual like me and might struggle with the language barrier, I don't want to waste your time. I’ll still keep an eye out for anyone I come across who would be a great fit for your coaching. Regardless, I’ll continue to support your work however I can because I truly believe in your approach and authenticity. Also, congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family! I hope this new chapter brings you joy and fulfillment, you deserve it. Thank you again for your kind gesture, and I’ll do my best to help however I can :)
@ That’s very kind of you. You actually gave me a great idea. I’m going to make my course in other languages thanks to you. Guess that inspiration deserves a reward since so many people will be able to benefit that don’t speak English. What’s your email? I’ll send it to you for free. Just remember that being a kind person does in fact reward you in life.

I tried Adderall and I was anxious. My doctor suggested strattera, I didn't notice any changes until about 3 or 4 weeks in... And then I started getting very dizzy and lightheaded. I stopped taking it and so I'm going to try something else.
@@snowboardingchic You’re not alone. A lot of people have experienced your struggle. We’re all here for you 🙂
Yeah ngl you're potentially causing irreversible harm to thousands afraid of getting medication to treat their adhd.
@@michael.phelps Hi, hope you’re having a great day! I’m definitely not telling people not to take medication. I’m telling people that in my experience personally working with over a thousand people, that my own clients have proven that their lives dramatically improved from becoming more intentional & structural. We go through the metrics that they score themselves & they tell me their executive functioning improves in areas their ADHD medication leaves them feeling hopeless. I’m basically the person people come to when their meds don’t meet their expectations & I’m actually telling people they can just work on structure in the first place so they don’t have to lose hope. Everything I teach, I’ve gone through myself, learned from working under a counselor, tested & improved many times over, & proven with every client I’ve had. It’s empowering to know one can be capable of managing their ADHD from the drivers seat as opposed to constantly struggling to get expectations met by outside sources. There are many people who can’t take medication, don’t like the idea of it, don’t have the money for it, or realize there’s something more to their struggle than expecting a magic pill to do all the work, especially when it doesn’t feel like a fit for them.
Ive started atomexotine, i hope it can make me consistent
In my experience atomexotine has helped with focus, but consistency comes down to habits and structure. Happy to answer any questions if you need a tip or 2 :)
@@adhd_coach_nic thanks, working on it. Cheers
I took 50 mg of this drug and noticed nothing.
Your doctor may want to titrate. What’s the issue you’re struggling with that led you to want to try meds if you dont mind me asking?
That's max in my country
@ I’d just been diagnosed and felt that meds would help.
I’m at 36mg and notice no helpful effects. It helps me speak a little better, and I’m not even sure if it has helped me focus better. 1500mg of L-Tyrosine seems to have a better effect than Concerta/Methylphenidate so far (although short 1-2h).
@@brown_cow_123 Thanks for that! How does it tend to help more specifically?
Anyone taking this with HRT?
