- 8_18_2017, Cub Cadet RZT50 Zero Turn, Mower spindle replacement, hit something, stripped the center spindle, replacement was easy, clean grass clippings off deck, remove blade retaining nut, pop mower belt, remove 4 spindle mounting bolts, remove bad spindle, install new spindle, install 4 new bolts, put belt on properly, install blade and retaining nut, make sure everything is tight and torqued properly, spin blades, make sure nothing is hitting, binding, or moving abnormally, grease all 3 spindles, Harvey Spooner, Hoarding Mayhem,

Hey Plum Bob!!!! This RZT50 mower flies along, it cuts a lot of grass very quickly and I like the way it mulches the clippings, it takes me about 3hrs to do my entire lawn, it takes me 4-5Hrs when I use one of the other tractors... Thanks for your thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!!
Its a lot easier to drop the deck and slide it out from under the mower, that way you don't have to get out the jack and lay on the ground
I took the deck off. Easier. And cracking the nut on the blade was next to impossible. But agree. Pretty straightforward

Looks like fun! I know we should change everything at once, but I'm am of the thought that with my luck I will replace everything and the motor will crap out. I will have a beautifully restored deck and a tractor that doesn't run!
Why not just take the deck off , flip it over change the blades go underneath and replace the spindals and put it back together

Now all you have to do is remember where the new blades & spindles are when you need them.

when i get a deck rebuild kit,i replace everything at once because i dont want comebacks. since it is your machine,its your choice. remember murphys law,lol.
I see you're using rotary copperhead blades, I'm a dealer for them, they are good blades.
Hey Dave, I hope the availability and cost info was helpful to U, they were an eBay deal, arrived at my house in about 1 week.... I ordered the same kit, all 12 spindle bolts broke! 😂 I was at the point of fk em'.
You should of just took the deck off an save your self from working on the ground an under the machine .. there easy to take off .
Hey Topgun, I considered removing the deck, but all the hardware came off easily, so, I did not bother.... If I had to replace another spindle or if anything was seized, U R right, it would of been easier to remove the deck.... Thanks for your advice, thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
